With all of the walks com- plete in Central and Western Kansas, the Alzheimers As- sociation reports the follow- ing for the Colby walk: On Sept. 8, 52 participants showed up at Fike Park and raised $8,980.54 to kick-off the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimers season. Special speakers were Joe Samson, care giver; Jane Bandy, care giver, and cor- porate sponsor, Tracee Sporer. The Good Samaritan So- ciety of Oberlin team took home the award for first place by hosting a Rock-a- thon raising $1,526.54. First place individual went to Katie Solko, who raised $525. Promise Garden flowers were planted in recognition of those somehow affected with Alzheimer’s. Grace Lynn Wahrman, daughter of Jeremy and Crystal Wahrman of Hern- don born Nov. 1. She weighed 4 pounds, 2 ounces and was 16 and one-half inches long.
