Lions plan Christmas food box distribution By Rosalie Ross Atwood Lions Club members are planning to make Christmas a little more cheery for some local families by teaming up with the Ministerial Alliance to distribute approximately 50 to 60 food boxes to the needy in Rawlins County. “If you have non-perish- able food items for the county food pantry, call 626- 3020 and we will take it for you,” Lion Jeane Beamgard said. Anyone knowing of a family or individual who is in need of a food box should call Bill Beamgard at 626- 3020 or the United Methodist Church at 626- 3855 between 8 a.m. and noon. “It is helpful for us to know the number of per- sons in the family and if there is an infant when we pack up the food boxes,” Beamgard said. The boxes will be deliv- ered Dec. 17 during the af- ternoon. “Atwood Lions meet at 6 p.m., on the second and fourth Mondays of the month in the Christian Church,” Beamgard said. “We appreciate everyone who donates to our commu- nity projects. We are here to serve.” Will’s Wisdom Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier’n puttin’ it back. –Will Rogers Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul. – Michel de Montaigne Union Club meets
