Nouvelle fusion dans l’aéronautique : UTC rachète Rockwell Collins pour 30 milliards de dollars ! 2017 - 09 - 05 - www.latribune.fr
Le conglomérat industriel américain United Technologies (UTC) a annoncé avoir conclu un accord pour racheter l’équipementier aéronautique Rockwell Collins pour 30 milliards de dollars. Avec le projet de rachat de Zodiac par Safran, il s’agit d’une nouvelle étape dans la consolidation du secteur. La consolidation se poursuit à un rythme effréné dans l’aéronautique. Alors que le processus de rachat de Zodiac Aerospace par Safran est en cours, que le fabricant de sièges B/E Aerospace a été racheté en juin par Rockwell Collins, ce dernier n’a même pas le temps de digérer cette acquisition à 6,4 milliards de
dollars qu’il va lui-même être mangé par le conglomérat industriel américain United Technologies, maison mère du motoriste Pratt & Whitney pour un montant de 30 milliards de dollars (25,2 milliards d’euros), dettes comprises (7 milliards de dollars). L’an dernier, UTC avait refusé les approches de son compatriote Honeywell, estimant son offre d’achat (90 milliards de dollars) trop faible. A report by India’s comptroller and auditor general (CAG) has highlighted the poor serviceability of 14 Ilyushin Il-76MD heavy transports and six Il-78 tankers operated by the nation’s air force. According to a CAG report, average serviceability of the Il-76 and Il-78 fleet in the period from 2010-2016 was 38% and 49%, respectively. The required average figure for both types is set at 70%. “On average, 41% of Il-76 and 32% of Il-78 [aircraft] remained grounded,” the report says. The types are expected to remain in service until 2040. The low serviceability of the air force’s Ilyushin fleet has been attributed to poor availability of spares and a delay in signing a long-term maintenance support contract with Ilyushin.
