COMPETITIVE BIDS FOR THE SALE OF A PARCEL OF REAL
PROPERTY
Notice is hereby given that the City ofTaylorsville City has declared aparcel ofreal
property Property located at or near 1731 Bowling Avenue Taylorsville Utah as surplus and
directed that the Property be sold to the highest bidder pursuant to competitive bid Pursuantthereto the City will accept competitive bids for the sale of the Property Information regardingthe Property can be obtained from Wayne Harper at Taylorsville City Except for responses
provided by Mr Harper the City has not authorized anyone to make any representationsregarding Property Competitive bids must be in writing and be submitted to Pat Kimbrough at
2600 West Taylorsville Blvd Taylorsville UT 84129 prior to May 7 2014 at x00pm MDT
The Property will be conveyed by deed and bidder will be responsible for any and all costs
expenses and fees including but not limited to demolition cost and cost relating to the sale
andor conveyance of the Property Igo late bids or electronic bids facsimile email or
otherwise will be accepted All bids are submitted at bidder sole risk and expense The Cityreserves the right to reject any and all bids All bids will be placed in the public domain and
become public records subject to examination and review by any interested parties in accordance
with the Government Record Access Management Act Utah Code Ann 63G2101 et seq

REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 1731 BOWLING AVENUETAYLORSVILLE UTAH KNOWN AS THE CASA LINDA APARTMENTS WHICHWAS ACQUIREll AS PART OF A BUS RAPID TRANSIT PROJECT AS SURPLUS
ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM Blll ANllESTABLISHING A 1VIETHOD TO
DFTERMINE THE HIGHEST AND BEST ECONOMCRETURN TO THE CITY
WHEREAS the Taylorsville City Council Council met in regular session on April16 2014 to consider among other things declaring aportion of real property located at
approximately 1731 Bowling Avenue Taylorsville Utah known as the Casa Linda Apartmentswhich was acquired as part of a bus rapid transit project as surplus establishing aminimum bidand establishing a method to determine the highest and best economic return to the City and
WHEREAS as part of abus rapid transit project a parcel of real property located at
approximately 1731 Bowling Avenue Taylorsville Utah known as the Casa Linda Apartmentswas acquired and a portion of such property is not needed for the bus rapid transit project a map
showing the parcel of property being surplused is attached hereto and is identified as Propertyand
WHEREAS the staff has proposed that the highest and best economic return to the Cityshould be determined by competitive bid and
WHEREAS the staff has informed the Council that the reasonable value of the Propertyis more than20000 and
WHEREAS after careful consideration the Council has deternined that it is in the bestinterest of the health safety and welfare of the citizens to declare the Property as surplus to
establish a minimum bid and to establish amethod to determine the highest and best economic
return to the Citv
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINEll by the Council that the Property is declared
surplus atld that the Property will be sold without any and all warranties andor guaranties of anykind express or implied written or oral
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the minimum bid for the Property is b50000 and
that the minimum bid be absolute net of all cost and expenses including but not limited to
demolition cost and cost relating to the sale andlor conveyance of the Property
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the method to determine the highest and besteconomic return to the City shall be by competitive bid
BF IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Property is a significant parcel ofreal propertyas defined in223155oithe Tavlorsville Code of Ordinances and that notice be given as
required by223155 of the Tavlorsville Code ofOrdinances on the Utah Public Notice Website
created by Utah Code Ann 63F1701 and on the Citys Website
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that ifthe Mayor does not receive public comment on
the proposed disposition that the Mayor and Recorder are hereby authorized and directed to sell
the Property to the highest bidder pursuant to competitive bids
This Ordinance assigned Ordinance No14O5 shall take effect as soon as it shall be
published or posted as required by law deposited and recorded in the office ofthe City Recorder
