NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGNotice of Intermunicipal Development PlanTAKE NOTICE that the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 and Brazeau County have prepared an Intermunicipal Development Plan for the lands shown in the accompanying map:

A copy of the Intermunicipal Development Plan can be obtained from the County Office or on the County of Wetaskiwin Website at www.county.wetaskiwin.ab.ca.Before proceeding further, Council will hold a Public Hearing at which any person claiming to be affected by the proposed plan may ask questions or make their views known. As per the Municipal Government Act, any person affected, has the right to petition this proposal.The hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, County Office, 2.4 kilometres west of Wetaskiwin on Highway 13, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020. Written submissions will be accepted up to the time of the hearing and should be addressed to the undersigned at the County Office.

Two adults, two youths charged in

ATV, gun theftWetaskiwin RCMP Investigate Break, Enter & Theft and Weapons Offences - Arrests

On December 10th, 2019 numerous outbuildings on a rural property in the County of Wetaskiwin were entered and two ATV’s were stolen along with a rifle.

On December 11th, 2019 the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit with the assistance of the Wetaskiwin RCMP and the Maskwacis RCMP recovered both ATV’s in Maskwacis at two different residences.

After a foot pursuit, four sus-pects were arrested and two firearms were recovered. Three of the four suspects were already wanted on outstanding warrants. As a result of the investigation, the following charges have been laid against four individuals:

Thomas ABRAHAM (20) of Maskwacis, AB:

· Break and enter and steal a firearm

· Break and enter and commit theft

· Possession of property ob-tained by crime over $5000

· Careless transportation of a firearm

· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

· Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

· Possession of a firearm know-ing possession unauthorized

· Failing to comply with re-cognizance

· Possession of a firearm con-trary to a firearms prohibition order x2

Sarah LIGHTNING (21) of Maskwacis, AB:

· Break and enter and steal

All four individuals were brought before a Justice of the Peace for a bail hearing. LIGHTNING was released on $3000 no cash recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on December 17, 2019. ABRAHAM was remanded and scheduled to appear in court on December 17, 2019. The 17-year-old youth was remanded and is scheduled to appear in court on December 13, 2019. The 16-year-old youth was released on $100 no cash re-cognizance for court on January 8th, 2020.
