Notice: COVID-19 UPDATE - April 4th, 2020
Hello Members, BLMS Council and Administration are regularly updated through many forms of government conference calls and emails. We have also applied to different pockets of funding within our purview to benefit our community and continue to provide services to our members. There have also been several concerns brought forward in relation to the current crisis, we have to stress to our membership the importance of keeping social distancing. In particular to this, there are “Asymptomatic” (person condition producing or showing no symptoms) people out there that can pass this along to our vulnerable people and this is increased with those coming from larger centers that have many cases of COVID-19. For complaints related to those persons not complying to Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer you may contact AB health @ https://ephisahs.microsoftcrmportals.com/create-case/ (An Inspector will be assigned to follow up and Law Enforcement may be contacted) Members are encouraged to follow the directions of Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer. If you are sick please use the self assessment web page that will put you in touch with the Health Authorities at: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/COVID-19/Pages/Assessment.aspx?fbclid=IwAR20S9wCmb2xEkrk 8JY_j7jQCCFl0bxE1hWX50uq3JVAVF9Dx6ZxBrHpRyc ) Alberta has also announced plans for assistance which can be accessed through: https://www.alberta.ca/index.aspx Please see the Interactive statistics related to COVID-19 in Alberta @ https://covid19stats.alberta.ca/ (This has a Map that shows current COVID-19 cases by region/area and other stats) We all have a role to play in this crisis, and your part is to keep yourself and your families safe. We continue to work for our communities’ safety, if any member of the settlement is experiencing difficulties of any type, you are encouraged to contact the administration office to request assistance and each request will be looked at on a case by case basis. Thank you and please remember to wash your hands often and thoroughly. Roy Auger Director of Emergency Management

ADMINISTRATION
Ideally, Easter is for going to church and having a large group get-together with family and friends. But this year, things are different. “We must do everything we can to prevent the spread of this virus from person to person in the community. I know this is becoming increasingly difficult the longer this goes on and especially with a long weekend coming up when normally people would be gathering together. But please continue to stay home. The less you are out in the community, the less chance you have of contracting or spreading the illness.”
Here are 9 ideas for how to celebrate Easter while social distancing.
1. Tune into a church service via livestream. Many churches are offering this. 2. Listen to a worship/gospel playlist. 3. Schedule a virtual hangout via FaceTime or Skype with family and friends to
wish them a happy Easter. 4. Send Easter cards. 5. Dye Easter eggs. 6. Have an egg hunt in the backyard (only with the members in your household,
of course). 7. Set a celebratory tone for the day by decorating your table. 8. Make a classic Easter recipe, like deviled eggs. 9. Use your at-home Easter as an excuse to start a new tradition, like a baking
project.
