The ReconnectionHeal Others, Heal YourselfReconnective Healing: FACILITATING HUMAN EVOLUTION, HEALING WHATEVER NEEDS TO RETURN TO BALANCEBy Dr. Eric Pearl, World’s Leading Authority on Reconnective Healing

Consider how a computer works. You have the computer hardware and you install a software program. The software allows you to access information from within the computer, and to access information from the Internet field out there “somewhere.” Upgrade the software program and you get better access to the information in the computer, and better access to that Internet field... Now what if our brains are our hardware? What if our DNA is our software?

And what if a new bandwidth of frequencies – carrying light, information and energy – could simply facilitate a human software upgrade? And create astonishing mental, physical and emotional healing.

That is indeed what is happening in Reconnective Healing.

We’re on the cusp of a new era in our evolution, a very exciting time where we are now accessing something that is the perfect intelligence of the universe telling the body how to heal.

This remarkable new form of scientifically measureable Reconnective Healing is far more than just energy healing. Interaction with these frequencies results in oftentimes permanent healings from physical illness, dis-ease and emotional trauma, including recoveries from cancers, epilepsy, birth disfigurements, arthritis and more. This comprehensive spectrum of healing – composed of energy, light and information – often returns the body to perfect health.

Anyone can learn to access these

energies once you interact with them. Reconnective Healing is not something we do. It’s something we allow and help facilitate. It works by itself, as well as greatly expands the results of the modalities that today’s healing and healthcare practitioners are already using. We can each be the catalyst for other’s healings as well as our own. How do we know this is real?

There’s evidence and there’s proof. The evidence is in the scientific studies showing the effects on heart waves, brain waves and gamma waves. The measurements in the rooms where Reconnective Healing takes place shows levels of energy that the researchers say couldn’t possibly be reproduced. The analogy they use is it’s as if they heated the room to over 300 degrees Centigrade. There has been a consistent physical response occuring of many tens of thousands of people when they experience Reconnective Healing.

There is a transformation that takes place once you interact with this new, all-encompassing spectrum of healing frequencies. Something changes in the tissues. The research programs around the world show that it changes and restructures our DNA. The most recent research study is taking place now in St. Petersburg, Russia where they’ve discovered at the main university that it alters and affects the blood. They have demonstrated this on the Russian Olympic Athletes they have been testing. So it changes our blood, it changes our DNA and it even changes the gamma radiation that we emit as human beings.

And the proof is in the healings. For example, the children with cerebral palsy who have been able to walk, run, play and speak normally again. The many with epilepsy whom no longer have seizures. The people who’ve regained their vision, their hearing, the use of their arms or legs, and the myriad other healings that occur on a daily basis.

True healing is about balance. There is no such thing as only a physical healing or a mental or an emotional healing. Healing brings everything into balance, but if the physical is the most obvious to us, then that’s what we notice. If the mental or the emotional is the most obvious to us, that’s what we notice. When we try to focus on getting rid of a symptom, we are focusing on getting rid of only a part of the problem – the physical, the mental, the emotional. But in Reconnective Healing we learn that the less we know about why the person thinks they’ve come in to see us, the better off that person is, because the less likely we are to focus on one part of the problem or to limit the outcome of the healing according to what we believe may or may not be possible. In other words, a true Reconnective Healer brings about much greater results because they simply pay no attention to what the supposed problem or symptoms are. Instead they step in with a consciousness of allowing for the return to the perfect vibration of energy, light and information, which therefore allows for any of the imbalances to simply vibrate out of the picture and the person to return to their natural state of optimal health and balance.

Furthermore, it is not the illness that has the healing. It is the individual. Three people can show up with the same diagnosis, the same sets of symptoms, and receive three different sets of results; depending on what is right for that person on their life course. It’s not the disease process that has the healing, it’s the person.A different experience

Everyone one of us experiences Reconnective Healing differently. We have different sensations. You may experience a pushing or a pulling. You might experience hot, cold, wet and dry sensations all at the same time – which I know sounds very strange, but once you experience it, you recognize it.What we are doing with this new level of healing is, in a sense, facilitating a human software upgrade. This upgrade allows us to better access information from the brain, and to better access information from that Zero

Point Field, that multi-dimensional field out there “somewhere.”

Reconnective Healing allows us to more fully receive the universe’s gifts because it allows us to fully reconnect to who we are. Not just as physical beings, but as spiritual beings during the time we experience life in this physical form.

Dr. Eric Pearl is the author of the international bestseller The Reconnection: Heal Others, Heal Yourself, now published in more than 36 languages. He travels the globe teaching Reconnective Healing, an extraordinary way to heal others, yourself and your loved ones by engaging with scientifically measurable new frequencies that researchers are calling the forefront of “Information Medicine.”

The Next Reconnective Healing

Seminar is slated for Dec. 7-9 in Miami, FL. An initial Friday evening “Essence of Healing” presentation by Dr. Eric Pearl is open to the public for a $9 fee. Victor Hugo once said, “You can resist an invading army; you cannot resist an idea whose time has come.” This is the essence of TED: Spreading ideas that need to be shared – ideas that can change attitudes, lives, and ultimately the world.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It began in 1984 as a conference involving three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Over the years its scope has broadened considerably, to include two annual conferences – the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh, UK each summer. These two conferences bring together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes or less).

The springtime TED Conference draws more than a thousand people, and the breadth of content includes science, business, the arts, and the global issues facing our world. Spanning four days, 50 speakers each take an 18-minute slot, along with numerous shorter presentations, including music, performance and comedy. There are no breakout groups. Everyone shares the same experience. It works by weaving

a web of interconnectedness, allowing attendees to emerge from the trenches we all dig for a living, and ascend to a 30,000-foot view, where wholeness becomes evident. TEDActive features a live simulcast of the Long Beach conference, in Palm Springs, with an emphasis on connection, conversation and creation.

TED also hosts the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

TED.com makes the best talks and performances from TED and partners available free of charge. More than 900 TEDTalks are currently online, with more added each week. These videos are released under a special licensing agreement that allows them to be openly shared and reposted.

TEDGlobal is TED’s summer conference. The themes of the global conference are slightly more international in nature, and the full TED format is maintained, with a wide ranging roster of speakers and performers over four days of TED mainstage sessions --plus the famous TED University, where attendees share their own knowledge with one

another TEDGlobal is held annually in Edinburgh, Scotland.

TED also hosts events around the globe, including many TED Salons, evening-length events with speakers and performers, and the independently organized TEDx events, exploring a topic or location. TEDx programs are locally produced events, where ideas can be shared in a TED-like atmosphere. Although produced independently, TEDx events draw some of the world’s most inspiring and innovative speakers to their communities.

On May 3rd 2013, TEDxDelrayBeach will bring together local thinkers and innovators for a day of talks around the globe. Organized along the theme: “The Human Experience”

Buck says, “Without reflection there is no true learning.” As we review the experiences, feelings, and outcomes in our life we can discover times when we were naturally better at some things. A pattern of those discoveries will reveal your gifts.

Ask yourself; what am I good at? What fascinates me? What do others say that I do well? What comes naturally for me yet others sometimes struggle with it? When were the times I was most alive, most fulfilled and felt a purpose?

Start today to study yourself (Know Thyself) and find the things for which you have a ‘knack’, or a special affection. There may well be a gift awaiting you.

For more information on Natural Gifts, consult The Acorn Principle by Jim Cathcart, published by St. Martin’s Press.

Jim Cathcart, CSP, CPAE is a bestselling author of 16 books and has been inducted into the Professional Speaker Hall of Fame. Discover Your GiftsBy Jim Cathcart, CSP, CPAE

There is always something you can contribute. On the easy side there are compliments you could offer to uplift another person, or ways you could lend a hand. In more complex areas you could help solve a major problem or discover a needed answer.

The challenge of life is to discover your gifts and then structure your life so that you get to use them as often as possible. Your choices direct your life’s evolution.

If you are gifted at music then you should create opportunities to develop your musical abilities and express them often. Note; I said develop them. None of our gifts is born in a fully developed state. We must learn, practice, struggle and hone our talents into the best they can be. Only then can they truly serve us and others well. Just as a child must develop the maturity to become a contributing adult, so must a ‘natural’ talent grow and improve to become its best.

To discover your gifts reflect on your life so far. My philosopher friend Kevin

Everyone is designed to be truly good at something. It is my belief that we are each Intentional creations, not biological accidents. In other words, we are here for a purpose and that purpose can be found in our natural gifts.

Some people are gifted at logic and reason, some are good at philosophy; some are exceptional mathematicians; some are expert at interpersonal relations; and still others are really good at physical expression through an art or craft of some sort. Everyone can do some things well. That is where we find our purpose and our greatest sense of meaning and joy.

People get pleasure from doing what they are good at. It makes sense out of life and feels right to them.

When you think about it, doesn’t this explain how so many people can exist without anyone being unnecessary? If each of us is designed to make a contribution then all of us have a part to play.

I can happily say that my life has been powered by the concept of CONTAGIOUS OPTIMISM! long before I ever dreamed of writing a book series or even establishing the concept. Having lived through challenging events and experiences, no different than many of you, I wanted to share how my contagious optimism has made it all worthwhile and continues to do so every day – for myself and for many others around me. The key was my ability to recognize positive results in advance of them happening, thus making difficult circumstances surmountable. I call this “positive forward thinking.” The anticipation of the positive results I call “Life Carrots.”

So what is a Life Carrot? Quite simply, a Life Carrot is something great out in front of you that you can reach. This school of thought has made my life

a pleasure no matter what obstacles stood before me. When I experienced financial setbacks, I found opportunities. When I experienced loss and grieving, I found life. When I became engrossed in materialism, I found simplicity. When I experienced rainy days, I found sunshine. These are all positive results from negative situations.

I am fortunate to have been given the ability to radiate this optimism onto others and help them get through difficult situations in life with a smile and confidence in the future. Apparently my enthusiasm for positive thinking is contagious. I receive thank you messages daily from people that want me to know that I have added zeal to their lives.

One example took place several years ago in Jacksonville Florida. I was conducting interviews for a satellite office we were opening there. One of the candidates was a girl named Jennifer. Unfortunately Jennifer was not qualified for the position but I encouraged her to stay positive and gave her some good advice that would make her more marketable in the future. She thanked me profusely and her correspondence included one of the nicest thank you letters I ever received. She mentioned that she was down on her unsatisfactory job search and financial situation before we met but that my contagious optimism had altered her frame of mind and outward demeanor for the better. I wrote her back and wished her well.

Seven years later Jennifer was reading the Wall Street Journal and saw an article about our company. She recognized my name and decided to track me down through our website. She wanted me to know how much our meeting had impacted her life and that she continued to have the sparkle of optimism that was generated from the interview seven years earlier. After her failed interview, but newly gained outlook, she was able to secure a part-time job to fund the balance of her college education while building work experience in the process. Ultimately she was able to land a position with another technology company and had been promoted several times over the years. She was now married and had children as well. I was touched that our brief time together had such a profound impact.

Many people ask me to bottle this optimism. I frequently receive calls from people I have known for years, and others I just met briefly, letting me know they are “psyched.” They are sharing with me their positive outlook that they didn’t have before we met. Over the years many friends, family members, colleagues and teachers have asked me to write about positive forward thinking in order to help people worldwide feel good about themselves and to find optimism in any situation. In summary, that is how CONTAGIOUS OPTIMISM! was conceived.

For people in a good state these books will help you appreciate what you have and how you got there. Some people lose sight of that and need a little kick once in a while. For people in a bad state these books will help you realize that not far away is something real, something tangible, which makes today worthwhile and necessary. To better illustrate, our

I feel each of us has a unique combination of attributes that, when properly nurtured and revealed, can make our own special contribution to the world. It’s about Living Life in 3D. First you have to Discover your gifts.

What is it you’re good at – that you have an affinity and passion for? Sometimes this is very obvious and “speaks” to you at an early age, sometimes it requires a lot of trial and error and reveals itself over time. If you’re truly blessed, what you’re good at is also something you love. Once you’ve discovered your calling or your gifts, it’s time to put some sweat into it – to Develop it.

Malcolm Gladwell in Outliers speaks of the “10,000 hours rule.” When you work on something, rehearse it and evolve it, you become more competent and confident.

In my case, improvising songs is my gift. I’ve done it for so long and in so many situations that I’ve come to trust something good will come out every time. This didn’t happen overnight. Gradually and incrementally, I became more adept and confident. I call this process “plank to bridge.” What initially

may seem difficult, daunting, or even scary can become more comfortable and doable over time. If you walk out on a “plank” a little bit further each time, it eventually can become a “bridge” to the other side.

Many years ago, I found my self in situations where I’d forget the lyrics of a song and I would just make them up off the top of my head. It then progressed to improvising little songs for people who had birthdays, anniversaries or other events. I would often observe or overhear something and would put it in the song to see if it got their attention.

The next steps down the “plank” came when I started just asking for titles from the audience at concerts “risking my reputation for your entertainment”. I would combine the titles I received and even asked what musical style they wanted. Technologies allowed me to record & immediately email these songs to whoever inspired it—when they inevitably would say “I wish I had a copy of that”.

The “plank” started resembling more of a “bridge” when I started doing custom

songs and “recap improv” (summaries of speeches etc.) for special events. I now usually do some form of improv at every performance. It’s my signature. So once you’ve developed your gift, you are ready to Distribute itto the world.

Whatever it takes to get it out there—whether by word of mouth, performance, social media or just plain old knocking on doors, that’s the next step. It’s ironic what may seem like a selfish thing—doing something you love—may in fact touch other’s lives in a positive way. By discovering your gifts, developing and distributing them, and ultimately using them for good, you truly manifest your purpose for being on the planet. Shine on!

Harold Payne is a multi-platinum songwriter and soulful singer who has written songs for such diverse artists as Rod Stewart, Patti Labelle, Lana Del Rey and long time collaborator, Bobby Womack—literally from Peter Paul and Mary to Snoop Dogg. He also performed his “recap improv” magic on the main stage of the 2012 National Speakers Association convention. For more info visit: www.HaroldPaynemusic.com

Positive Pocket- A Bright IdeaBy Rebecca Zerbo

To call Rebecca Zerbo unique among teenagers would be a massive understatement. In the 16 years I spent teaching middle school, both in Miami and in North Carolina, I met some remarkable kids, but none as focused and self-assured as Rebecca. Working today to transform her own negative experience with bullying into a blueprint for helping others, Rebecca is carving out a special niche for herself among the leaders of tomorrow. Sometimes it takes someone so young to remind us that through our “gifts” we can change the world.

-Hank Eder Staff Writer, Nothing But Good News Magazine.

Rebecca Zerbo is not your average thirteen-year-old girl. Although she’s into fashion, shopping, spending time with her friends and an 8th grade honor’s student at Eagles Landing Middle School in Boca Raton, what makes her stand out is the fact that she owns and operates her own business called Positive Pocket. Rebecca started Positive Pocket because of a bullying incident that occurred at her school while in the sixth grade. After being called disrespectful names,

suffering from embarrassment as other students watched, crying in a bathroom stall and failing her math test later that day, she left school having lost all confidence in herself. Even though she told her mom what had happened and received support from her parents and relatives, Rebecca felt anxious, alone and unsure. When she couldn’t sleep, she went on the computer and wrote herself some special sayings that were close to her heart, hoping those would help her regain her confidence and self-esteem, getting her through the next day at school. As the day progressed, the anxiety and low feeling of self- esteem became more prevalent. Looking at the piece of paper with the positive affirmations in her Math class, it fell to the floor as her teacher walked by. She came up to Rebecca, asking what it was. Impulsively, Rebecca said, “It’s my Positive Pocket, to keep good thoughts in my pocket wherever I go,” thus beginning the journey of Positive Pocket. Rebecca Zerbo interprets the words, “Your gifts,” as a way to explain her ability to speak out and connect with kids and adults who suffer from the negative effects of bullying and other issues, impacting the self-esteem and self- confidence that prevents them from moving forward and feeling good about themselves. To her, everyone is unique and EVERYONE matters! It is that message and the manner with which Rebecca conveys this to others. Rebecca, having faced many obstacles in her 13 years, explains that she feels she was born for public speaking. Rebecca is honest about her situations and feels that she can connect with others and they can also relate to her story. Rebecca, by no means, councils kids or adults but rather, through Positive Pocket,

Rebecca provides an “anchor,” a reminder to people, which they can carry around with them, a small business-sized card, helping people to remember how special they are, that they matter and they make a difference. This anchor, the Positive Pocket card, helps people hold onto their self-esteem and regain their self-confidence. Rebecca loves to speak, listen to other people’s stories, and share the important message about bullying, self-esteem, and self-confidence. “For me, it just comes naturally.”

Your GiftsBy Dee Wallace

The biggest gift you have.....is You. You are the God of you that was given free will to create yourself, and your world, with choice, love, commitment and focus. If you are not doing that consciously, odds are you are not delivering the greatest gift you can give yourself, and therefore the world.

It works like this: all things are manifested from the light WITH the light. Science, religion and spirituality are in agreement here. When we put Christ’s words “I Am the Light” together with “These things and more shall you do, also” - it becomes pretty obvious that if we are going to create miracles also, we have to know we are the light. We have to know it and consciously use it. Since all three-dimensional matter stuff (like money and wellness) is created by focusing light, we see the importance of 1) choosing clearly what we want, 2) committing ALL OF US to the creation of it and 3) holding the focus of the light and intention no matter what. Feeling bunches of joy and love really helps that focus to remain consistent and stabilized.

Then the light that we are (because everything is) directs the light that we are---and ALL light---to laser beam in on the desire we are intending.

It is the first and most important “recigive” moment in creation: the moment when the giving and receiving happen in the same instant. Like a giant hug, we embrace the energy of the Universe as it delivers the light to us in form. It is magnificence personified.

We understand then, that the creation of our gifts in any way comes from the creation of Us first. To be love is to create love. To be money is to create money. To be health is to create health. When we are in total harmony--meaning no opposing energy and belief systems within us-

-with what we are desiring, we are in alignment with the manifestation of it. And the most important shift necessary to create this? The love of the self. Self, unconditional love that blesses and acknowledges in every moment the awesomeness of you. We are not taught it, we are not encouraged to be it/know it/accept it and live it. Actually, we are taught it is sinful to love ourselves: selfish and egotistical. But there is nothing---NOTHING---that can be created without the love of self, because you simply don’t want to give yourself the things you say you want. Without love, you are simply unworthy to create and receive them. The beautiful thing about this gift to yourself, is that when you truly own it, you automatically send love and express love to everyone else. Anything less is foreign and detrimental to the love for yourself. So as you accept and embrace the gift of self love that you choose to give yourself, everyone else receives the gift also. And then you are the gift. The gift that keeps on giving.

This is not something that takes time. This is not something that we work towards. Like everything, it is a choice we make in this moment of now. A choice we commit to. And then the entire Universe comes on board and says, “Wow! She finally chose! Let’s shower her with the gifts that her self-love is creating now!” So many of us our waiting until we do/are/create something so we can feel worthy to love ourselves. As my beloved mother used to say, we have it bass-ackward! You must use that gift of free will first, commit, and stay focused. Then the Universe has the clear direction to play with you. In every moment of NOW, you are the creation of you.

The three most important questions to ask of your light:

1) Do I see the world as a friendly place or a hostile place (Einstein’s famous question), because ALL perceptions come from this beginning one

2) Do I love myself (ergo my light), because obviously your light will respond and be utilized more effectively if you love it! And

3) Do I believe my light can do this?

I hasten to remind you that you were loved so much that you were made the God of You to use your free will and choose. We were sent out in the beginning with the blessings, “Go forth and know yourself as God.” Are we using that blessing to create Gods of fear, lack, judgment and separation? Or Gods of love, abundance, acceptance and wholeness? It is our choice to choose the direction of our light. We are Gods either way. And that, beautiful souls, is our greatest gift. It is the gift that all other gifts are created with. Create well the gift of You.

Blessings,Dee

Years ago, Wayne Dyer shared the following story and it stuck with me. He was on a plane that was ready to depart. Just as they left the gate, the plane stopped and a few minutes later the captain informed the passengers they would have to deplane and wait inside the terminal for more information. A huge grumble resounded from the passengers and a cacophony of discontent permeated the cabin. Wayne was sitting in first class that day and retold what he witnessed. The stewardess sighed deeply, closed her eyes, as if praying what she heard was not true and then rallied herself to the task of unloading the plane. Wayne called her over and asked what she was feeling. She replied with dismay, “Everyone will have something to say and I am about to greet a lot of angry people.” She knew what was coming as the passengers disembarked and could not hide her angst. “Just think of it this way,” Wayne told her. “Each person is offering you a gift and you do not have to accept it. Don’t take it – don’t let it into your energy field. Your gift of choice will free you from their gift of anger. Smile - thank them silently and refuse to take their upsetting comments.” Wayne was so intrigued by the opportunity to witness her practicing something new he decided

to stand by her side offering support throughout the deplaning process. Miraculously, the flight attendant was unscathed; her mood and energy were enhanced because she was able to learn a new way to stay in her own power.

I have told this story many times because I find myself taking on other people’s stuff. People gift me with their moods, thoughts, ideology, discontents and sorrows. Of course I want to be supportive to those I care about and yet, I am learning to care for myself. Sometimes that means saying no to the energetic gifts that are being offered. I believe the first step in assessing what gift I am receiving from another is discernment. That is the power to tell the good from the bad, the genuine from the counterfeit. That is the tool that helps separate the “wheat from the chaff” to determine things of value from things of no value. And even though we are talking about non material offerings, they are non-the-less, quite influential. In 1910, poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox wrote the following:

I hold it true that thoughts are thingsEndowed with bodies, breath, and wings,

And that we send them forth to fillThe world with good results - or ill.

That which we call our secret thoughtSpeeds to the earth’s remotest spot,And leaves its blessings or its woesLike tracks behind it as it goes.

Everything, everything we think and say leaves and impression. We are continuously giving the world and every person in it -- our bounty. There is nothing independent from another. Everyone is connected to everyone else and every judgment, thought and consideration is a gift you are giving to yourself and to others. It’s high time we become conscious of what we are sharing. Now is the moment to wake up and choose wisely what we both give and receive because no matter how we look at it – these are “our gifts” -- that shape tomorrow.

Gratitude- The Gift You Give YourselfBy Susan Hinds

Gratitude, in essence is of the utmost importance because it makes you feel good and feeling good changes your life. In many ways when your mind is free of the limitations that you have taken on as your own throughout your life then you have the capacity to create from the fullness and the beauty that is so abundant on this wonderful world in which we live. When you feel gratitude then everything looks better. Most of my life I was taught to complain and feel unhappy but it was not until quite recently I clearly understood the importance of gratitude and started to make it important in my life.

It does not take much to feel small and insignificant I really did learn that lesson well! But when I am in that place I know that I am not living. Just going through the motions. I love that I live in such magnificent times where travel is so easy and I have access to such amazing information on the internet. What else is possible?

The real truth about gratitude is that it does not matter what happens, if you

allow space to be grateful for something about it then you can see the blessing and move on with your life. Recently I was house sitting in beautiful Bribie Island in Queensland Australia. I just loved it there but the dog I was looking after was very old and at the end of our time together it was clear that he was close to death. I was not sure how I can best handle him and I could see he was in pain. In my training with Access Consciousness I learned how to do a process called exit stage left. It is designed to use when people or animals are really sick and either they will die or they will get better. I could see this dog was in pain so I did the process on him and he was a little better, still not well but better than he was before. The time that we spent together in doing the process was really lovely. I am sure that he knew my love for him and I was giving him permission to die if he wanted to.

It was clear in the days after that he was waiting for his owner to come back before he was ready to die. And that was fine with me. I rang her at

the airport and let her know how sick her dog was so that she had time to be mentally prepared for what she was about to see. After he passed I told her about how I had done this process on her dog and told her that I felt strongly that he was waiting to see her again. This knowledge gave her great comfort!

It was difficult to see this beautiful animal that was so full of life to go so quickly into being so sick. He was a very old dog and I knew that it was possible that he could get sick. Once in my life I would have been very angry and upset to have to nurse this dog and clean up all the messes that he was making as a result of his sickness. I am so grateful that I could see the beauty and the connection that having this special time with this dog had given me.

On the morning he passed I walked past him and his tail wagged as I did. He had been unconscious most of the day but the simple wag of his tail was like a hug; a message of his love. I was so grateful that even though he was so ill he was sending me the love he had in his heart.

Gratitude turns your heart into something profound and beautiful. Love can grow and expand when you have a grateful heart. Every one that you know will appreciate you more when you learn to have appreciation for every beautiful and sometimes not so beautiful event in your life.

I believe that I was put on this beautiful planet to find a way to really appreciate the beauty that is all around me. To appreciate the wonderful people, even the ones that make me realize I would not act as they have because I really don’t think that the way that they are acting is very loving at all.

Gratitude gives you a life that is full and beautiful. If you make time every single day to do things that you love doing or being in places that you love; even just going to a beautiful garden or place that you love to be. It will change your life. It is so easy in these extremely busy times to get caught up in the business and not take time to appreciate all the beauty that is all around us.

When I was in Queensland I lived very close to the water and I made a point of making the phone calls that I wanted to make while I was looking at the water. I told the people that I was talking to that I was at my office, overlooking the water and watching the families that were there. How did I get so lucky? I truly love the opportunities for gratitude that surround me every day.

A Lifetime Passion: Now Horse HealerThe Interview of Kelly Bassett by Hank Eder

A young woman with a lifetime love of horses turned her passion into a career that helps horses live better lives. Kelly Bassett, 27, became a Holistic Hoof Care Specialist.

In the world of horse care, Holistic Hoof Specialists are part of the emerging field of barefoot horse care. It involves keeping a horse’s hooves in optimum health through careful trimming and maintenance. It also includes optimal nutrition and other methods for keeping horses in their best possible health.

It’s obviously about the hoof,” Kelly says, “and how it can affect their well-being and their life, the lifespan that they have, their quality of life. No pun intended, but the hooves are literally giving them the legs they are standing on.”

For many, the idea of keeping horses barefoot seems radical, but it is actually

the best route for horses to have healthy hooves. Horse’s hooves are made to expand and contract as they step. Expansion and contraction are one of the many contributing factors that allow optimal “hoof mechanism” to take place. With the application of shoeing a horse, optimal hoof mechanism is rendered impossible.”

People have been putting metal shoes on horses for more than 500 years now,” Kelly says. “The idea of taking off those shoes is slowly catching on, but there is some resistance to change. For some people, you’ll never change their minds.”

Why should horses be freed up from their metal shoes? Kelly cites a number of reasons. “It reduces circulation to their entire body. The hoof works like an auxiliary pump to the circulatory system – just like people. Every step we take, we pump blood through our bodies. But when there’s a shoe on the bottom of a horse’s foot, the hoof capsule can’t function properly. The

hoof capsule is a live organ on the external view of the horse, just as the heart is a live organ on an internal view of the horse. I think a lot of people think that because they can see the hoof, it must not be ‘that big of a deal,’ because anything ‘worth’ protecting is usually enclosed within something, like the body.”

Kelly says another problem with wearing metal shoes is that a horse’s heel bulbs become contracted, limiting natural motion. “Expansion and contraction, circulation, blood flow, movement throughout the body – these are all part of the many contributing factors of hoof mechanism. When a horse is shod, over time, their heel bulbs will stay in a contracted state. Over time, if the shoes are removed the heel bulbs will relax and begin to expand back to the natural form. Putting shoes on horses jeopardizes the entire being of the animal. From the way it stands, holds its head, movement of its gate, conformation issues – these will all slowly but surely

be rearing their ugly heads.”

When a horse owner decides that it is time to take their horses off of metal shoes, there is a period of adjustment that needs to me made for the health of the horse. That is where the Holistic Hoof Care Practitioner comes in. “Every horse can go barefoot, without shoes, but not every horse owner can have a barefoot horse,” Kelly says. “What that means is that taking the shoes off is going through the motions of basic rehabilitation of the feet. There are certain things that need to be done. For example, if their heels have been under-run, there are special boots that give them a little bit of support that they need. For any and every hoof problem, soaking and walking boots are a must-have. Soaking boots (such as Davis Soaking Boots) allow the horse to walk around during the soaking process. This is perfect, because as mentioned before, movement is vital to allow circulation of blood flow through the hoof. Cavallo Simple Boots can be used for horses that are “foot sore” to move around with less pain than may

already be present, and for supporting the damaged, painful hoof.”

Kelly says that when horses have hoof issues, most people just put them into a stall. “That is the worst thing you can do. The horse needs circulation and movement of their feet. I know it hurts, but it’s essential to getting them back to where they need to be. There’s been no blood flow to their feet. It’s similar to putting a rubber band around your finger until it turns blue, then when you take it off, your finger hurts. All that blood and circulation comes rushing back in and it hurts. So the problem some owners have when they try to take their horses out of shoes is the follow through – the moving, the soaking, the poultices, and the boots. If there’s a problem we need to follow through before we can fix the entire hoof. In order to achieve sound, natural, healthy barefoot hooves, any underlying disease or issue of the hoof must be healed and dealt with first.”

One of the most important services of the Holistic Hoof Care Practitioner is the proper trimming of horse’s hooves. Kelly says the practice is rooted in very precise geometry. The goal is to

nurture the hoof back to its natural state, something that takes some time to accomplish when the hoof has been nailed to a shoe for a long time. “It’s a geometry of angles, and working with specific measurements. You’re sculpting what has been neglected throughout the horse’s life.”

Since she was a little girl, Kelly always wanted to have, be near, or work with horses. Recently she had the experience of working with a boarding facility in South Florida that utilizes diet, movement, and natural means of keeping horses in optimum health. “The thing I love about it is that you’re constantly learning, and you’re saving horses’ lives, saving horses that don’t need to be put down. What’s really rewarding to me is to see a horse with huge, horrible, and painful feet, and after a trim they walk off the mat and go trot because they can. That’s what keeps me going.”

When Kelly visited that South Florida facility, she found her mentor, Marianne Allen, who runs the Florida School of Natural Hoof Care. “She’s very mothering,” Kelly says. “She’s not

just an instructor, she’s with you in it. Any time I need something she says call me anytime, send me a picture, I’ll walk you through it. She has instilled an amazing amount of confidence in me. She really is a mentor, and I can never pay her back for what she’s given me. She’s helped me to find what I really want to do with my life.”

Kelly says she enjoys teaching people about the benefits of Holistic Hoof Care. “I feel the more people know about it, the more they might care about it, and actually give it a shot.”

Kelly has some big dreams for her Holistic Hoof Care Practice. “I would have at least 50 acres of land, with at least one Friesian horse, and one Andalusian. I would have the most

beautiful barn in the world with everything I need set up right there, to either go to people’s places where their horses are, or bring them to my place as a rehabilitation center. Then I can constantly keep an eye on them in about a six-month to a year process.

The people who are having the most problem saving their horse’s lives would bring them to me to take care of them.”

Kelly lives in Asheville, North Carolina, and serves the needs of barefoot horses around the region of Western North Carolina. Reach her at: (720) 281-5358 or email [email protected]. See her on Facebook at h t t p : / / w w w . f a c e b o o k . c o m /BarefootByBassett

It seems to me we all have innate skill sets that distinguish us in our lives and careers. We call these our gifts. Some are good at math, some excel in art. Some are outgoing and friendly. We call this type a “people person.” Others are quiet, shy, and introspective. They make great researchers, at home in laboratories, experimenting in areas that most of never even imagine. But each of us has a gift or set of gifts that make us special.

Take the case of two college friends of mine. Both had dreams of being musicians. The gift of music came easily to one of them, as if he had been born to it as a holdover from some previous lifetime. The other spent years honing and practicing his skills, studying with various teachers and becoming somewhat proficient, but never enough to really throw his hat into the ring and make a living as a musician. The other, gifted as he was, had other skill sets that soon replaced his ideas of being a professional musician. Maybe he could have done it, but despite his skill at it, he realized it was not really suited to who he was. To this day, both of my friends still play their instruments as a hobby and a means of stress-reduction. They chose to use that gift for enrichment of their lives, rather than as a means to make their living.

When I was growing up, I was told time and again that I had “the gift of gab.” Sometimes this got me in trouble at school. A prime example of this was the time I got paddled by a young substitute teacher, who carried guilt about the incident for more than 40 years. A series of “coincidences” led me to meet her and have the opportunity to forgive her. To hear more about this stranger-than-fiction story, listen to the July 30, 2012

archive of Nothing But Good News Radio. My gift of gab has a definite positive side, too. It sure has helped me in my endeavors as a freelance journalist, and in the enjoyment I get from being a guest host on Kandee G’s radio show.

My gift of gab goes way back to my childhood in the Bronx. All of my best friends were Irish. Most of their parents came from the Emerald Isle, with all of the charm and wisdom that endowed. One who really stood out was the father of a very close friend. In his time in the Bronx, he worked as a “super,” the caretaker of a building. Back in “the old country,” he was a Shannachie, the Gaelic word for “storyteller.” When this man wove a tale in his thick Irish brogue, his listeners sat spellbound with mouths agape. I used to fancy that there were “wee folk” living in his garden. This was a man with a golden heart and a silver tongue. I think part of his gift of gab must have magically rubbed off on me. The gift also rubbed off on his son, the renowned poet Michael Donaghy. Michael left this world too young, but in the time he spent he published award-winning works of poetry. It was his gift, passed to him by the old Shannachie.

Having a gift is a powerful blessing, but with it comes responsibility. When a gift is truly part of you, it’s always waiting for you in unexpected places, whispering in your ear to follow your muse. There’s a “great American novel” inside me trying to get out. It’s emerging slowly, but powerfully. It haunts my other “doings,” singing its siren song to lure me onto the mysterious rocks that lurk just beyond the border of a storyteller’s fevered imagination. The song is sweeter than all other voices. I sense it becoming more urgent, beckoning me to put

aside some other pursuits to follow where it leads. I get goose bumps thinking about it as I write this article about my gifts. Maybe it’s time to let the siren lead me into the really deep water…

I’ve heard people say, “But I don’t have those kind of gifts. My life is just very simple.” Trust me; we all have gifts. Maybe yours isn’t luring you to some slippery rocks on a moonlit tide, but all the same, your gifts are within you. Maybe you’ve been told you make people laugh. So do it! Make them laugh. Maybe you’ve been told you have a smile that lights up the room. So smile more. Light up some rooms. Next thing you know there will be smiles all around. It’s very contagious.

Many times it really is that simple. Discover who you are and BE it. Your gifts will keep unfolding naturally.

The Law of Attraction from the Archer’s PerspectiveBy Jacob Barrocas

Are the New Age writers, speakers and personal development gurus telling us the truth about the Law of Attraction? These philosophers propose that “we attract into our life whatever we think about” and that “our dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest.” Can we be successful by merely allowing things to happen? If the answers to these questions were “yes,” then an archer or hunter would simply envision a deer as his way of gathering prey. The animal would walk up to him, lie down and make itself available for the hunter to carry home. Better yet, the deer would just surrender himself, walk alongside the hunter all the way home and peacefully give up his life to feed the village. Accordingly, just being hungry and wanting to eat would be enough to succeed. This line of reasoning may sound absurd and ridiculous, but many people ineffectively interpret the Law of Attraction in this way.

Some people spend their lives wishing, praying, or visualizing what they want and desire, only to become experts at sitting patiently and dreaming, not understanding what went wrong. They

may ask, “Why doesn’t this method work for me?” This passivity and failure to act is far from the approach that the archer takes in aiming for his target. It is vital that people learn to understand the way that the law of attraction works so that they won’t be disappointed when nothing happens when they are so passive about it.

For an archer or a hunter, visualizing hitting the target is an essential part of succeeding. It can lead to finding the perfect location or set of circumstances where the prey or target appears, thus increasing the probability of hitting the intended target. Visualization can serve to align thoughts, skills and actions needed for the archer’s success. It is essential to remember that to hit a target, the hunter is required to have properly developed skills, in addition to arming himself with the appropriate bow, arrow and string. For the archer, technical training equates to learning how to use a bow and arrow, mastering techniques, and using proper equipment. The metaphysical aspect is what made

William Tell successful at hitting the small apple and missing the head.

For over thirty years, I have observed the results of thoughts and beliefs in my business and personal life. While my college education was engineering and very technical in nature, my interest in metaphysical teachings kept me reading and listening to a diverse group of mentors, advisors and teachers who shared the power of our thinking. I have often quoted from one of my favorite authors, Richard Bach: “The gull that sees furthest flies furthest.” and “Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they are yours.” Our business staff might have thought me quite unusual, but my perspectives and strategies worked to successfully manage 1200 people producing 50,000 pairs of shoes a day.

Did I use the Law of Attraction? Was I “attracting what I was?” Was I “manifesting what I was projecting with my being and my thoughts” or was more happening? Or was I skillfully and with clear intention aligning my mindset, specific essential skills and required abilities with the reality of existing circumstances to accomplish my desired outcomes? The difference between the goals that I manifested and the ones that I didn’t was very apparent. They both included desire, visualization and the absence of attachment to what I wanted. My successes had something else in common. I took very careful, strategic and calculated action to accomplish the desired outcome. “I had alignment and took sufficient and appropriate action” to accomplish my goals. As my friend Bruce Raymond Wright teaches, excellence comes from using the law of alignment, the law of action

The Law of Attraction from the Archer’s Perspectivecontinued...

and the law of attraction synergistically. [http://www.equanicity.com]

The effective archer/hunter must first visualize his target or goal. To bring food home, he must combine the visualization with the correct action: aligning knowledge, awareness, personal strength and stamina, circumstances, and the combined excellence of appropriate equipment and skills. When we look at the word “attraction,” it is easy to see that it combines two words: attract and action. Thus, a simple conclusion – action is a fundamental part of the law of attraction, a fact that many people often overlook.

An archer exemplifies any individual’s hopes and pursuits to achieve a goal. The archer’s approach is very different from the claim that “everything one

wants or needs may be accomplished by believing that one will receive that outcome, repeatedly thinking about it, and maintaining positive emotional states to ‘attract’ it.” The archer does much more than believe, think, and maintain. The archer takes appropriate, sufficient, strategic action to accomplish his goals.

The archer must be in good physical health. His arms, mind and heart must be steady and focused to optimize the probability of hitting his target. The arrow must be the correct weight, balanced and straight. The type of tip and feathers the arrow has will determine its accuracy. The string must have the correct tension and must be made of the correct material that matches the bow, arrow and distance that the arrow will travel; it must be cared for to be sure it is not frayed or worn. The bow must be rested or unstrung when not being used lest the constant tension will cause it to “lose its spring,” becoming weak and ineffective. How often do we ignore the effectiveness of our business tools when taking on a challenge? How many times do

we exhaust ourselves mentally and physically by focusing solely on an issue or problem, which keeps us tense constantly? In business and in life, the probability of success increases when we act like the archer.

Mastering archery requires regular lessons and consistent practice with the correct instruction and guidance. In our personal and business life, developing skills requires a similar approach. Are we reading the correct books or using the appropriate advisors, coaches or consultants? Does our staff have the right skill set and strengths needed to accomplish our goals.

If we want to develop the skill of attracting what we desire in life, finding the correct guide and teacher is essential. It is very common to find leaders aided by advisors, staff, coaches or consultants, often times they are not accomplishing what they want. If our objective is clear to the people we work with but the results are missing, we can make some simple changes by asking ourselves a couple of questions. Whose advice and help are we using? Is there room for improvement? Albert Einsteins’ definition of insanity is “doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.” I encourage you to strengthen your business success by considering new approaches and methods. I challenge you to choose new strategies and advisors who can guide you toward your desired outcomes. I invite you to combine the power of the law of alignment, the law of action and the law of attraction to enhance your business and personal success.

With the holiday season upon us, our thoughts turn to giving and receiving. It’s time to start the list of everyone for whom we must buy gifts. There are people in our lives who want our “wish list” as well. It’s all so complicated. The fear of offending someone because we forgot to put them on the list sends us to the store to buy generic gifts “just in case” we forgot someone. The holidays become more stressful than joyous. We dread the event and only celebrate when it’s over.

There is another way. It requires a shift in our thinking. What if, instead of worrying how much we are spending and on whom, we focused on giving kindness, love, joy, and peace to each other? There are many ways to do just that. The best part is that whenever we

give the gifts of the heart instead of the gifts from the store, we also receive.

As guests on this planet we receive natures’ gifts every day. The warmth of the sun, the air we breathe, and the stars at night all al there for us to enjoy. We tend to trudge along not even considering the wonder of the gifts we are given every moment. We have to be reminded to stop and smell the flowers. We can share those gifts with friends and family. We can be the ones who remind others of the miracles all around us. We can let people know how much they mean to us, how grateful we are to be a part of their families and how grateful we are they chose to be a part of our lives.

Instead of sending a pre-printed card, take the time to send a hand written note. Mass produced Christmas letters share the news of what’s going on in your life, but have little personal significance to most people who receive them. Send a card on-line? That’s really impersonal. E-mail is so easy to use, but can’t possibly replace the joy of seeing a hand-written letter in the mailbox. Sending out a group text may reach people more quickly, but the sound of your voice on the other end of the line can be the best gift to a grandparent or good friend.

Take the time to make a call, pay a visit or write a note instead of spending your time hunting for parking places at the mall. Remember to give the gift of your smile when you meet people. Share a kind word whenever you can. Allow yourself to be calm and enjoy the beauty of the season. Practice forgiveness and gratitude. Each of us was born with our own unique gifts, share those gifts and look for the gift s in others. This year bring the joy back into the holidays. Be generous in giving of yourself.

Given the assignment to write about my gifts for a magazine that features only good news, I found myself uneasy over recent world events. So much bad news! How do my gifts get me through in the midst of so much chaos in the world? I knew they must, so I set out to find some good news and rediscover how I can use my gifts to take charge of my own world.

However, in order to accomplish this, I would need some inspiration.Quickly.

So I took a walk. A nice long walk with some jogging intervals mixed in. I have found immersing myself in activities that promote my own well-being to be something of a magic trick. It clears my head of all the “noise” and puts me right into the present moment, where I become empowered to reclaim my own inner calm. That’s where I find solutions to whatever might be troubling me.

I believe that when we feel troubled – about anything – there are several different ways in which we can handle things. • We can become a victim of circumstances • Live in denial • Or take a moment to step back, assess the situation, and spin up an intentional response.

When we wallow in self-pity (which I know a thing or two about), we allow anything and everything outside of ourselves to dictate how we are going to live. Since everything in our lives is a direct result of our thoughts and feelings about who we are and the world we live in, if we were to wait for “things” to change, we might just wait forever. We’d never become empowered enough to run our own lives. Definitely not cool!

Denial, another popular way to “deal” with unpleasantness, only prolongs and intensifies whatever it is that ails us. It’s a surefire way to grow weaker as our problems grow stronger. This is a recipe for disaster.

Option three, however, focuses on being empowered and living on purpose. When life takes on a darker shade, it is our resourcefulness to step back, take an objective look at the present circumstances and carefully craft a deliberate response that will determine the role we play in the situation at hand.

The ability to distance ourselves from a negative situation and DECIDE on an outcome is something we are all capable of doing. It’s simply a matter of understanding that whatever we project into the world is what returns to us. We then realize we have a choice to make.

Do we want to release energy that causes upset? Or would we rather be the source of faith that we’re actually craving? Since we all share a consciousness, our thoughts and feelings collectively create our world. If we want to live in an environment that offers hope and wisdom, we must become those things ourselves. We must THRIVE!

The act of living a life that consists of behaviors that encourage healthy living is an aid in learning how to invoke the very best within us and use those traits to be our response to life and its many challenges. Whether we realize it or not, we have the ability to influence others more by what we do, as opposed to what we preach.

During my walk, I did some soul-searching and as mentioned earlier, I found my gift within the chaos of our world’s events. It was message that provided the uplifting content for the

latter half of this article. But in order to discover it, I had to ask myself a few questions – an act I believe we would all benefit from.

WHO AM I?Am I in this world? Or am I of it?

I came to realize my gift is my ability to send out the kinds of positive thought pictures that will create the world in which I want to live. It’s a gift that belongs to us all.

Franovik Designs are recycled fashion designers. We create one of a kind “Wearable Pieces of Art” from recycled fabrics, materials and vintage pieces, which would normally be in your closet taking up space, or go to a goodwill thrift store, and finally a landfill to pollute our environment.

We like creating and we like fashion. We also like to protect what’s ours, and so we protect our environment. We also like to give a voice to those that don’t have one, such as children and animals. The landfill either places trash in a pile of more trash and/or burns it, to put it simply. Some even store, consolidate, transfer, process and recycle, the way it should be done. What we like to do, although small but effective, is to recycle and create beautiful garments that you can wear on a day-to-day basis – mostly evening

couture and one of kind custom made pieces for you. We have had the pleasure of dressing and creating garments for beautiful women, mostly in the entertainment and fashion industry, and lately very influential women.

We love vintage pieces; we have received many donations from followers and have picked up a few pieces from time to time. We look at the piece and re-create the vintage piece into something new and fresh.

A subject that is very important to us: We fundraise for charities closest to our hearts. I love children and animals and as I mentioned before, we want to give a voice to those that do not have the means to speak out. Among the foundations we fundraise for is Angel’s Pediatric Heart House, the Prestige Club, and continuously contribute to the ASPCA and the Humane Society. In my life, I have had the honor and privilege to work some incredible women. They have taught and molded

me in some shape or form. I would like to thank these women that have changed my life. I’ll mention a few: my mother and sister, my number one fans and inspiration; others I would like to mention (and trust me there are many) are Joan Ball, Barbara A. Weeks, Norma Cortes, Kristi Wisniewski, and Kym Manni, among others.

I also thank a higher being for these God-given gifts and hopefully I will continue to receive more gifts from you and the universe. Good things for good people!!
