2011 Graduate Follow-Up Study

Gateway is committed to providing quality occupational training. Every fall Gateway surveysgraduates from the previous school year to obtain information about employment status, salarylevels, job location, and satisfaction with training.

The Graduate Follow-Up Study provides valuable information about the successes of Gateway’sgraduates. Data from the study and graduate comments are used to improve Gateway’sprograms and services. In addition, it is an important source of information for current andprospective students, counselors, and employers.

Survey Highlights

The 2011 Graduate Follow-Up survey was mailed to 2,308 associate degree and technicaldiploma graduates. A total of 1,808 graduates responded to the survey for a response rate of 78 percent. The following are highlights:

� 96% are satisfied with their Gateway training

� 85% have jobs within six months of graduation

� 55% are employed in their field of training

� The average full-time wage is $16.84 per hour

Notes

� For purposes of this report, full-time employment is defined as 35 hours or more perweek.

� Wages are reported only for those programs in which 2 or more respondents providedsalary information. Wages are reported before deductions.

� While salaries in this report generally reflect entry-level wages, 14 percent of thoseemployed related to their field of training were already employed prior to attending

Gateway and have maintained that job.
