Taking Power

• Most Monarchies choose their next ruler through birth, usually the first son, or daughter of the Monarch they are replacing.• In some cases the person who is next in line to the throne may

abdicate, or refuse the office, in which case many different family members may take the office, sometime leading too war.• However, many monarchs can be families that take over a country. • Some Monarchs are elected, almost like a President, or even choosen

by their country members to lead.
