● The New York Times writes about our Braai culture: "Braai means grill in Afrikaans, the Dutch-Zulu-Xhosa-English mash-up language that has evolved here since 1652, when the first Europeans arrived in South Africa from the Netherlands. Locals say it is the only word recognized by all of the nation’s 11 official languages. Rump steak, shown here, from the part that American butchers call round, is a popular cut for braai." Creation is very excited to announce the release of the 2015 Creation Syrah, Grenache The 2015 Creation Syrah, Grenache which will now take the place of the 2014 vintage on our pairing menu. Jean-Claude Martin, Creation’s viticulturist and winemaker, had the foresight to plant one of Vititec’s first virus-free mother blocks post-apartheid at Creation. (During the apartheid years virus-free vines were unobtainable.) Healthy vines produce grapes of great quality and 2015 was climatically an exceptional year for us. Among the many accolades for the sought-after Syrah, Grenache blend is the fact that the 2014 vintage was selected as Grand Cru National Champion in its class at the recent National Wine Challenge. The wine beckons with alluring aromas of ripe black olive complemented by whiffs of pepper. It is a well-endowed Rhône-style blend with intense flavours of ripe plum, black pepper, tapenade and umami. More about the Creation 2015 Creation Syrah, Grenache.Order Creation Wines Here

Creation Wines of distinctionIn this popular series we feature selected sommeliers from top restaurants around the world. Each chooses his or her favourite Creation wine, tells us why and recommends a matching dish. This week we welcome Gina Neilson from the modern, elegant 9th Avenue Bistro in Durban. Gina says: One of my favourite places on earth is the Hemel-en-Aarde; it is surely one of Mother Nature’s proudest achievements. I’ve had a love for this wine producing region for ages, but especially after we’ve visited last year. Creation stands at the very top of the valley. If you haven’t been yet, I urge you to go. I find Carolyn and Jean-Claude’s passion for producing wine remarkable and it shows in every bottle. Read more on what sommeliers from top restaurants around the world have to say.

Health & Fitness - The Best Investment In Yourself!A word from Mat at Proactive Fitness Hermanus

4 Mistakes you could be making when Lifting Weights.

1. Fix that Form“The most common mistake you will witness is folks throwing away their form through ego lifting” says James Farmer, personal trainer and physiotherapist. “If you’re lifting with huge weights to try and look good then often you’re not going to perform the exercise correctly, which opens you up to injury. Too often I see people stacking too much on their deadlifts and bench presses.”The Proactive SolutionLoad a weight where you can complete all your required reps with textbook form. Don’t worry if that’s a lot less than what you’re currently lifting; lighter weights allow you to keep tension on the target muscles, which makes them work harder through a full range of motion.2. You’re Skipping the Cool DownFailing to cool down post-workout leads to all pain and no gain. Skip the final part of your workout and you’ll feel nauseous through lowering your heart-rate too quickly. The Proactive SolutionIt’s easier than you think. Walking around the gym for eight minutes is a brilliant way to slow your circulation and prepare your muscles for the next session, It’s that easy! 3. You’re Not Nailing your NutritionLike most good things in life, what you put in is what you get out. No exceptions. If you’re not eating enough calories and the right nutrients your muscle fibres won’t recover adequately. This can leave your body sore for the next workout and even cause long-term injuries such as muscle tears. The Proactive SolutionMaster your macros. Your nutrition plan should fit your training goals, but if you want to build lean muscle then eat your protein, carbohydrates and fats to the ratio 2:3:1. ...more great tips for you here.

Internet News● What happens in 60 Seconds on the Internet.

It is interesting to see that Youtube receives more searches than Google!

● A great tip for multitasking heroes is to copy and paste long pieces of text into www.fromtexttospeech.com and press play. Now you can listen to your document while doing your nails, drawing a picture or organising your desk. You can also download the audio file for listening while you drive. I Love it! Visit Elgin Valley

Tucked away in the Kogelberg Biosphere is the exquisite farm that is Oneiric. The name Oneiric comes from the Greek meaning "to dream" and the farm and the wines are both that. A visit to Oneiric often leaves our guests speechless. With rolling hills, trout dams, picnic areas, a tasting barn and gift shop; guests often pop in for a tasting and end up spending the day. With wines which have received points in the 90's and which have received awards at numerous top wine shows around the world it is no wonder that in just 22 months Oneiric has become a firm favourite of the wine drinking community. Playing on a copper theme, with the families roots in mining, the labels all center around this theme bringing together a very metallic looking label, with each label playing on a different copper derivative. Pronounced Oh!-ne-rik it is a name worth remembering.www.oneiric.co.za View Map
