Deb Percival was fortunate to spend her child-hood camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, fishing, vacationing at national parks with her family and their dog, and writing about her experiences. As an adult she coauthored two books (Strengthening America’s Competi-tiveness, and Street Smart Franchising), and owned and managed a large public relations firm. The latter eventually kept her from actu-ally writing anything, so she sold it to return to her roots. Today she writes about animals, sustainability, eco-travel, and wellness for a number of magazines and websites. She and her husband share their house with two angels – one disguised as the magical rescue lab, and the other disguised as the wonderful snuggly lab.

Susan Jenkins has been training and competing for almost 30 years, and presently owns Papp’s Dog Services in Akron, Ohio. Before get-ting her first purebred Lab, Susan was involved in horses, and was even getting ready to show but happened into a dog show with obedi-ence and was hooked!
Susan is currently working on her AKC Obedience Trial Champion-ship with her yellow Lab, Caleb, and will soon start competing with her black Lab, Micah. DNM
Dr. Khalsa earned her degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. From her earliest years as a vet-erinarian, Dr. Khalsa trained in homeopathy, along with many other holistic modalities, and soon began developing her own treatment pro-tocols drawing from her rapidly growing knowledge base.
Since beginning her holistically oriented veterinary practice over 25 years ago, Dr. Khalsa has been incorporating homeopathy, acupunc-ture, Chinese Herbs, nutritional advice, allergy-elimination techniques such as N.A.E.T and also J.M.T. into her approach. Today her work is a blend of sophisticated holistic techniques and traditional veterinary medicine designed to best enhance the natural strengths and attributes of her patient.
Aside from her impressive career and dedication to teaching within the veterinary world, Dr. Khalsa loves sharing her knowledge with the public. She coauthored, ‘Healing Your Horse: Alternative Therapies’ (Howell Book House, 1993), and most recently authored, ‘Dr. Khalsa’s Natural Dog’ (Kennel Club Books, 2009), a book best described as a ‘holistic bible’ for dog owners. Dr. Khalsa is a Fellow and Professor of the British Institute of Homeopathy. She has lectured both nationally and internationally.

Catherine O’Driscoll has been running Canine Health Concern since 1994. In June this year, she spearheaded a campaign to forcefully persuade the British government to put an end to the normal practice of annually vaccinating dogs in the UK. To support this campaign, she has written a 369 page response to the UK’s licensing body, the Veterinary Medicines Directorate. This report is available free by logging onto www.petvaccine.weebly.com. It con-tains the science to explain why vaccines cause so many diverse adverse effects in our dogs, and also explains why governments around the world will not legislate to halt unnecessary vaccination. Cath-erine also asks her fellow dog lovers to write to the British government to lend their voices to the cam-paign. Contacts and template letters for you to send are also carried on the site.
