This event is sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College. It will take place Tuesday, February 25, 2020. There are two times you can go. 9:00-12:00 and 3:00-6:00. Please see attached flyer for more information. There is also an attached FAFSA checklist, so you know what to bring with you to the FAFSA workshop. Please attend if you haven’t filed your FAFSA. Champions Together is collaborative partnership between the IHSAA and Special Olympics Indiana that promotes servant leadership among student- athletes while changing their lives as well as the lives of those with intellectual disabilities. On February 14 th , our Unified Basketball team will be participating in a game during the boys’ junior varsity and varsity basketball games. Part of the partnership with Champions Together is to fundraise with proceeds going to Special Olympics Indiana and Northview Unified. Our school and community surpassed all our goals last year and created “Northview Unified.” Let’s do it again this year! Congratulations to Coach Logue and the Ethics Bowl Teams. Both teams qualified for the quarter-finals, with one team advancing to the Semi-finals. NHS Team’s performance earned them an invitation to compete at a National Tournament at DePauw this summer! Congratulations to Coach Sanabria and the NHS Wrestling Team. 5 of our wrestlers will be moving on to the Regional Competition on Saturday! FAFSA Workshop

Goals Academy Adult Education is hosting a FAFSA workshop for students and parents who still need to file their FAFSA and need some assistance doing so. This event is sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College. It will take place Tuesday, February 25, 2020. There are two times you can go. 9:00-12:00 and 3:00-6:00. Please see attached flyer for more information. There is also an attached FAFSA checklist, so you know what to bring with you to the FAFSA workshop. Please attend if you haven’t filed your FAFSA. They are a great resource to help you!!!

Any parent or student who needs help completing the FAFSA, there are additional FAFSA events coming up for you to attend. Remember, FAFSA is due by April 15th.

Northview’s Champions Together Day will be Friday, February 14th. Champions Together is collaborative

partnership between the IHSAA and Special Olympics Indiana that promotes servant leadership among student-athletes while changing their lives as well as the lives of those with intellectual disabilities. On February 14th, our Unified Basketball team will be participating in a game during the boys’ junior varsity and varsity basketball games. If you are receiving dual credit through Ivy Tech or ISU, you will need to send your Ivy Tech or ISU transcript to the college you will be attending to get credit for taking those classes in high school. You will be setting up a parchment account like you did here at Northview, but through Ivy Tech, ISU, or both. The links are below to create your parchment accounts. It will cost a little bit to send these transcripts so be prepared for that as well. Most of you will not send these out until the end of the school year once grades have been stored. Hoosier Girls State is looking for junior female students interested in learning about the government and ways to become involved in government. This opportunity takes place June 21-27, 2020. If you are interested in more information, please let Mrs. Boor know. The delegate from Northview needs to be picked by March 1st.

Students who are planning to go to college after they graduate and especially 21st Century Scholars will need to apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). October 1, 2019 is the first day that students can start filling out the FAFSA online. Students have until the April 15, 2020 deadline to complete the FAFSA. The sooner that you apply the more aid that might be available to you.

Supertickets are now on sale during school hours in the athletic office. SUPER TICKETS (NORTHVIEW EVENTS ONLY) Excludes IHSAA Tournament Events Student = $25 Grades K-12 Senior Citizen = $40 Age 65+ Adult = $75 Family Pass = $190 (2 Adults + 2 K-12 students living in household. Each additional student is $10: 3 students = $200, 4 = $210, 5 or more = $220)

Breakfast and Lunch menus can be found online at: https://in02200674.schoolwires.net/ccs Lunch account payments will not be accepted during lunch. All deposits must be made before 10:30 am if you want it applied that day. For your convenience, we have a drop box in the cafeteria for payments. If you would prefer to make online payments, go to www.myschoolbucks.com and register for a free account. They also offer a mobile app for your smartphone that will enable you to view recent purchases, check balances and receive low balance alerts.

Reminder: All attendance issues need to go through the Attendance Office. This includes absences, tardies, and doctor’s notes for absences. If you will be absent from school please have a parent or legal guardian call Mrs. Eppert at 812-448-2661 Ext. 1211.

Guidance Tri Kappa Scholarship The Tri Kappa Scholarship is now available in the guidance office. There are no minimum requirements for this scholarship to apply. Scholarship must be returned to the guidance office or postmarked by April 24, 2020. Union Hospital Teen Volunteer Program Teens ages 14-18 can apply to this volunteer program at Union Hospital. Applications are due March 13, 2020. See attached flyer for more information and how to apply. Student-View Scholarship Program The 2020 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $12,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors planning on attending a 4-year college, community/junior college, or career school. Awards are: 1 $5000 Scholarship 2 $1000 Scholarships 10 $500 Scholarships It's quick and easy to apply, there are no eligibility requirements. (No SAT/ACT Scores, No minimum GPA, No essay required, No lengthy application forms, No application fees) Simply log on to www. student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarships will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The scholarship winner will be announce in May of 2020. Scholarship application deadline is: April 22, 2020. Vance P. “Pat” Wiram Memorial Scholarship Eligibility criteria for this scholarship: *Senior at Clay City or Northview High Schools *2.5 or higher cumulative GPA. *Intend to pursue a degree in science or a science-intensive field. Examples of appropriate majors but not limited to include:(Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Geography, Nursing and related Health Careers, Pre-Med, Pre-Vet, Pre-Pharmacy, and Pre- Physical Therapy) Applications, a high school transcript, and 1 required letter of recommendation are due by April 8, 2020 to the address listed on the application. Applications are in the Guidance Office. The Clay County Extension Homemaker Scholarship will be presented at senior awards night in the amount of $350.00. Qualifications: Must be a resident Clay County Must use the money for continuing education at a college, university, or technical school Have a GPA of 2.5 (C Average) or higher Demonstrate leadership ability in church, school, or community activities The Scholarship is available in the Guidance Office and will need to be mailed to the Clay County Extension Office by April 1st, 2020! Thrive On! Scholarship through Ivy Tech This scholarship encourages students to continue their leadership development at Ivy Tech by participating in Student Leadership Academy and as an Ivy Tech Student Ambassador. Criteria Includes: *At least 2 years of high school club participation in (Key Club, JAG, Interact, or DECA) *Engagement in activities that support the local community *Evidence of career exploration (internship, ICE program, or employment) -Special consideration is given to those students who have high school attendance records of 90% or higher. Union Health Foundation Scholarships If you are going into an accredited health care degree program, are in the health careers program here at Northview, are employees or children of Union Hospital employees, or qualified students pursuing a nursing degree from ISU, Ivy Tech, or St. Mary of the Woods college need to check out the scholarships available at Union Health Foundation's website: www.unionhealthfoundation.org Scholarships can be found under the "Grants and Scholarships" tab. Check eligibility criteria before applying. Applications are due by March 1st.

The Brandon Bickers Memorial Scholarship Students graduating this year who have participated in high school interscholastic athletics from Sullivan, Clay, Parke, and Vermillion counties in Indiana and Clark or Edgar counties in Illinois are eligible to apply. Please check the website for a list of eligibility criteria. The application can be found at www.unionhealthfoundation.org under the "Grants and Scholarships" tab. The deadline for submitting applications is March 1st.

Wabash Valley Herb Society The Wabash Valley Herb Society is awarding a Martha Daniel-Joan Stevenson-Marty Mertens Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000. The scholarship is available to high school seniors, college students, and adults who wish to pursue a course of study in an herb related field which include careers in (medicine, journalism, culinary arts, restaurant management, agriculture, nutrition, pharmacy etc.) The deadline for applications is February 28, 2020. Indiana Sheriff’s Association Scholarship This year the Sheriff's Association is giving out (40) $750 scholarships to students who are pursuing an education and career in the criminal justice field. Qualifications for this scholarship are: (1) All applicants must be an Indiana Resident (2)All applicants must be committed to pursuing an education and career in a Law Enforcement Field at an Indiana College or University (3) All applicants must be a current member of the association, or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association. (If you do no meet the membership requirement, an application for membership is attached to this application. Just complete the application and return it with this Scholarship Application to meet the requirement. (4) All applicants must enroll as a full-time student (12 hours). Information for how to submit the application is on the application. Application can also be downloaded from the Sheriff's Association website at www.inianasheriffs.org For those of you who were not able to attend the FAFSA night here at Northview there will be an opportunity at Ivy Tech Community College in Terre Haute next semester. It is called "College Goal Sunday" It will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2-4.

Greenwell Scholarship: The Greenwell Scholarship gives out a $10,000 renewable scholarship every year. This scholarship is available through The E.E. & Maud Greenwell Trust through First Financial Bank.*Applications are available in the guidance office. *There are several things that are required as part of the application. If everything is not completed, the application will automatically be thrown out by the scholarship committee. To assist with this, so that does not happen to you, the scholarship will need to be submitted to Ms. Casassa a week prior (or earlier) to the submission date to ensure everything is included. -High school transcript, essay, academic and professional goals, guidance counselor section filled out on the application.*Applications must be postmarked by February 14, 2020. YOU will be mailing the application yourself. Guidance will not be doing it for you. It is due to Ms. Casassa by February 7, 2020. *Email Ms. Casassa if you have any questions.

American Legion Scholarship Opportunities The American Legion has programs that offer different scholarship opportunities. They have $307,175 worth of scholarship money to give out. Go to www.indianalegion.org. Click on the Programs Tab to see what is available and what you may qualify for.

The Betty L. & Marjorie Dierdorf Memorial Scholarship The Putnam County Community has a scholarship available to graduating seniors from Putnam, Clay and Knox counties. The Betty L. & Marjorie Dierdorf Memorial Scholarship gives a onetime award of $1000 to a current Putnam County, Clay County, or Knox County High School senior whose cumulative GPA is between 2.5-3.7. *An online application for this scholarship may be found at http://pccfscholarships.communityforce.com

2019 El Dabe Ritter Scholarship: Go to application web-site below. All the information is on there. Requirements are: 500 word essay, enrolled in an accredited university in the U.S., a minimum 3.0 GPA, no application fee. Submitted no later than June 30, 2020 Application: https://www.personalinjurylawyerslosangeles.com/#scholarship Honey Creek Garden Club Scholarship: Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded through the Honey Creek Garden Club. Qualifications to apply are: Have a college major in horticulture, botany, environmental science, agriculture or a related field may be considered. Have a B grade point average or above 3.0 or above. Be of good character. Be a Vigo County resident or immediate surrounding counties in Indiana. This information must be submitted: Completed application, a letter of personal introduction which explains the student's life goals and how the scholarship will benefit these goals, letter of recommendation from the teacher and one other professional person who knows the student personally and high school transcript. Scholarships must be submitted by March 1, 2020, but it is recommended that you have them submitted earlier. You can pick up a scholarship application in the guidance office. Ceres Solutions Scholarship:

Ceres Solutions is offering 10/ $1000 scholarships to high school seniors to help further their education. Ceres Solutions is looking to offer these scholarships to students who have been involved in 4 years of 4-H or 2 years in the local FFA program and will be starting college in the fall of 2020.

The scholarship and application can be downloaded at their website. www.ceres.coop . Ivy Tech Scholarships

Chancellor Scholarship:

*For high school graduates with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above or in the top 10% of their class. *Covers full cost of tuition, technology fees, and books for four semesters. *Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA. *Must enroll in at least 12 credit hours of Ivy Tech coursework each semester.

Honor's Scholarship: *For high school graduates with an Academic Honor's or Technical Honor's Diploma *$750 a semester *Renewable for 4 semesters *Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA

Laptop Scholarship: *Can be awarded in conjunction with any of their other scholarships. *Selection will be based on a rubric of essay questions, high school GPA, dual credit, and Ivy Tech GPA if applicable. Deadline for high school scholarships; February 14, 2020

Elevate: Minority Scholars Achievement Program: *This scholarship will be awarded to 10 African American students. Recipients will be awarded a $2000 scholarship each year at Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute. '

Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship. The scholarship is designed to help recipients graduate college debt free. Recipients must graduate from a public high school in the U.S. The scholarship provides up to $6000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. The scholarship will help pay the unmet financial need of the recipient.

Eligibility Requirements: 1- Must be a citizen of the United States 2-Must attend an eligible public high school 3-Must be a student in the high school graduating class 4-Must have achieved a 3.75 cumulative GPA or higher 5-Must score 24 or higher on the ACT (Composite) or 1,150 or higher on the SAT (total score) 6-Must enroll at an eligible four year college or university the fall semester following high school 7-Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of each academic year of college 8-Must complete the FAFSA in 2019 EFC must be less than $6500 9-Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants 10-Must not have been convicted of a felony
