Welcome to the fifth Northern Beaches Disability Services Expo held by Northern Beaches Council.This expo aims to help people with disability, their families and carers make informed choices.

Careseekers is an NDIS registered platform where individuals can connect directly to disability support workers giving them choice and control over who provides their one on one support. Careseekers supports self, plan or agency managed NDIS participants. Workers on the Careseekers platform are background and reference checked, and work as independent contractors so you can negotiate the hourly rates and there are no minimum hours. Workers can assist with activities relating to one on one support such as assistance with self care, social and community participation, therapy supports, and domestic duties.

EarlyEd is an early childhood intervention service for children who have a disability or developmental delay, and their families. Services are delivered at home, preschool/childcare, school, in the community and as parent training (such as Hanen ® Stepping Stones PPP and toilet training) or group programs. The Housing Connection (THC) has been providing individually tailored community and supported living services since 1981. Our primary focus area is across Northern Sydney District. THC provides support for people to live in their own home and to access and engage in their local community. The organisation’s focus is on skills and capacity building. THC recently set up The Trolley Bag project as a social enterprise. Based in St Ives, participants design and make shopping bags out of recycled material, along with beeswax wraps, to be sold at weekend markets.

However, no prior musical experience is required by participants. Uniting Local Area Coordinators work on behalf of the NDIS to support people with disability transition onto the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Local Area Coordinators work with people aged 7-64 with disability who are eligible for the NDIS to provide information, prepare plans and promote individual capacity to self-direct their NDIS plan. This includes connecting people with supports and communities to achieve the goals in their NDIS plan. Uniting also work with the NDIS to implement the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building initiatives.
