You are not required to take the challenge test. There is no charge for this test. The challenge test can be taken only once as an incoming freshman prior to registering for classes. The challenge test is not an admissions requirement; you can also choose to take the ACT to improve your scores. Because you will be advised and registered for classes during Northern Exposure, your orientation date is selected in accordance with your major. Your major cannot be changed during your orientation program, but it can be changed at the beginning of the fall semester. If you have questions about your major selection, please feel free to contact us at (859) 572-1967. Please review the information about the colleges to determine where your major is housed.

Universi t y StudiesUndecl aredYou do not have to decide on your career or academic program right now. You may not want to declare a major if you would like to explore your many interests or find out more about new endeavors.

Students who have not declared a major, who are undecided, or who are unable to declare a major due to developmental work needed are advised through the Academic Advising Resource Center and will have a major of undeclared in University Studies.

Advisors in the Academic Advising Resource Center are prepared to guide you through your general studies. You will make choices that will allow as much flexibility and exploration of your interests as possible. Your advisor can suggest beginning courses in majors and minors that will assist your understanding of a particular field of study.
