    This is a 12 week program that educates students aboutaviation, the significance of aviation in the development oftechnology, its global impact, and the many careers in theaviation industry.During the 12 weeks, students learn the importance of settinggoals, developing plans to attain those goals, and understandthe need to develop skills in science, technology, engineeringand math. At the culmination of the program is Flight Daywhere students pilot a 30 minute flight.Our instructors and our aircraft accompany the students ontheir flights. After our first year participating in this programwe have flown over 30 students!

    RAMS is a New England based company made up of environmental scientists who have decades ofexperience in aerial photography, remote sensing, geographicinformation systems and environmental management.Some of their projects consist of forest and river modeling, wetland delineation, vegetation mappingand wildlife habitat mapping, aerial energy audits, traffic count and environmental compliance.Two of Northampton Airport/s pilots fly fo r RAMS and provide the experience and expertise requiredto help RAMS produce the custom flown digital models.

    In February, our full motionsimulator will be up andrunning!The enclosed cockpit will helpimmerse the pilot in thetraining andSimulation based trainingallows fo r the training ofmaneuvers or situationsthat may be impractical (oreven dangerous) to performin the aircraft, while keepingthe pilot and instructor in arelatively low-riskenvironment on the ground.

    Women In Aviat ionD Women pilots represent less than 7/o of the total pilotpopulation in most countries.

    D One of our challenges is to encourage more women to becomea pilot.

    D Together with our based pilots and local women's colleges,Smith and Mt. Holyoke, we are going to work toward gettingmore women in the air!

    D We will be issuing a challenge to our pilot community to takeas many non-pilot females flying as they can between the startof the new year and July 30!
