North West College Completion Scholarships
Application Based Scholarships (application required)
* All applicants must have submitted a scholarship application to North West College by March 15th,
2018 to be considered.
Application based completion scholarships are presented to a students (60% course load) completing a
North West College post-secondary program entirely through the North West College. A student may
only receive this award once. Each award description will list any additional eligibility requirements. All
eligible students who have applied to programs that commence between July 1st and June 30th of the
current academic year, can apply for these awards. Other terms and conditions may apply. North West
College reserves the right to make changes as deemed necessary, including cancellation of particular
awards.
Battle River Treaty 6 Health Scholarship – valued at $500
Open to all NWC students who are enrolled in a program leading towards a career in a health-
related field.
One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student with the highest academic average.
Priority will be given to a member of Battle River Treaty 6 Health member First Nations – Little
Pine, Lucky Man, Moosomin, Mosquito, Poundmaker, Red Pheasant, and Sweetgrass.
BUH Foundation Health Care Scholarship – valued at $500
Open to Battlefords Campus students who are registered in a health related, full-time skills
training program.
Students eligible to apply for this scholarship will be notified when applications are accepted.
Applicants must submit an essay that demonstrates leadership and a commitment to remain in
the community after training.
A letter of support from the program instructor must be submitted discussing the applicant’s
class and college participation.
The recipient will not have received a BUH Foundation Scholarship within the past two years.
o Applicants must show promise in a career as a Continuing Care Assistant.
o This application will be considered through consultation with the CCA instructor.
Innovation Credit Union Community Innovator Scholarships – 4 scholarships with a total value of $8,000
Open to all NWC students enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program at any location.
Four $2000 scholarships will be awarded to four students based on the following criteria:
o Innovation Credit Union is interested in your ideas! Share a project you’d like to develop
to improve your community. Be unique and creative. The application can be in form of
an essay, marketing plan or event proposal and will be evaluated based on its creativity,
feasibility and originality. Please limit your submission to 500 words or one typed page.
o Applicants must be a current Innovation Credit Union Member. Potential applicants
who are not Innovation Credit Union members can stop at any advice center/branch
location or apply online for a free No-Fee Account to qualify.
This scholarship is made possible by the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship
program.
Merit-Based Scholarships (application not required)
Merit-based completion scholarships are presented to full-time students (60% course load) who have
successfully completed a North West College post-secondary program for the first time. A student may
only receive this award once. Other terms and conditions may apply. North West College reserves the
right to make changes as deemed necessary, including cancellation of particular awards. These Donor
Scholarships are also merit-based scholarships and do not require an application form. The College will
consider students in all eligible programs that ended between July 1 and June 30 of that academic year.
All eligible students, except for university students, are automatically considered for the merit-based
scholarships. University students must submit a copy of their most recent transcript and social insurance
number to the Student Services Coordinator.
Terms and Conditions
By accepting a scholarship the recipient hereby irrevocably grant to North West College perpetually, exclusively, and for all media throughout the world (including print, non-theatrical, home video, internet, and any other electronic medium presently in existence or invented in the future), the right to use and incorporate (alone or together with other materials), in whole or in part, photographs or video footage taken of the recipient as a result of my participation in this scholarship process at North West College. The recipient agrees to not bring or consent to others bringing claim or action against North West College on the grounds that anything contained in the property, or in the advertising and publicity used in connection herewith, is defamatory, reflects adversely on the recipient, violates any other right whatsoever, including, without limitation, rights of privacy and publicity. The recipient hereby release West College, its governors, officers, successors and assigns from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of actions, suits, costs, expenses, liabilities, and damages whatsoever that the recipient may hereafter have against the College in connection with the property. As a stipulation of this release, the recipient also grant North West College permission to share his/her name, civic address, email and phone number with the scholarship donor(s) exclusively. The recipients information will not be shared with any additional third party without express written consent. The recipient also consents to the release and exclusive use of any intellectual property presented in his/her scholarship application to the donor(s) for use in perpetuity.
North Battleford Firefighters Local 1756 Scholarship – valued at $1000
Open to all NWC students who are enrolled full time in a Health Care program.
One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to one student based on merit.
o One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student based on merit with preference
given to First Nations or Metis students.
o This scholarship is made possible by the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity
Scholarship program.
Viterra Sask Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship – 3 awards valued at $1,500 each
o Open to Battlefords Campus students who are enrolled full time in the Industrial
Mechanic program.
o Two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to two students based on merit.
o One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student based on merit with preference
given to First Nations or Metis students.
o This scholarship is made possible by the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity
Scholarship program.
Viterra Sask Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship – 1 award valued at $1,500 each
o Open to Battlefords Campus students who are enrolled full time in the Business
Certificate program.
o One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to one student based on merit.
o This scholarship is made possible by the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity
Scholarship program.

o Open to Battlefords Campus students who are enrolled full time in the Electrician

o Open to Meadow Lake Campus students who are enrolled full time in the Electrician
program.
o One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student based on merit.
Viterra Sask Innovation and Opportunity Scholarships – 8 scholarships with a total value of $12,000
Open to Meadow Lake Campus students who successfully complete the Office Administration or
Business program while facing adversity and through perseverance.
