North Side Building Goals for the 08-09 School Year Academic Goal: Eliminate all Below Basic students (including ESL and IEP

students) in performance categories for Reading, Math and Writing on the PSSA in grades 3, 4, 5

Climate Goal: Expand the Anti-Bullying effort from identification what bullying behavior to empowering the bystander and helping students to report bullying to an adult immediately when it occurs

Parental Involvement: Increase the parent involvement to include all parents, as well as expand our Community Partners work with businesses in the community including but not limited to recruitment of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, UPS and Giant Foods career to work partnerships.

Professional Development Goal: Provide research-based professional development and common planning times in place of the traditional staff meetings to support teachers as they collaborate and plan for consistent and pervasive teaching and learning across their grade level

Technology Goal: Expand the use of our North Side Technology Integrator to enhance teaching and learning through the use of appropriate integrated technologies
