HONOREE - JAMES “JIM” FLETCHER GOODMON Jim Goodmon is the President and CEO of Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC). During his career Mr. Goodmon has guided the growth of CBC’s broadcast holdings and led the company’s expansion into satellite communications, new media, real estate and professional sports. Mr. Goodmon serves on numerous boards across the state and his visionary leadership has been instrumental in the success of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation and Explorer Posts 5 and 50. The GOAL of this event is to bring more than 600 of our community’s top business leaders together to honor a wonderful corporate citizen and raise funds to support Scouting in the Triangle and surrounding counties. OCCONEECHEE COUNCIL is one of the largest and most prominent youth development organizations in North Carolina. We provide young people in Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Lee, Moore, Orange, Vance, Wake and Warren Counties with responsible fun and adventure while instilling in them lifetime values and ethical character development as expressed by the Scout Oath and Law. CAMPS IN OUR COUNCIL Camp Durant, Camp Reeves and Camp Campbell. 17,077 SCOUTS AND ADULTS used our properties and facilities for summer camps, weekend activities, outings, and training events last year. 305 GIRLS served in Venturing and Learning for Life in our Council last year.
