The National Show committee is pleased to report that the 2010 show was, once again a big success. Attendance for the 2010 Great Celebration was 5,608 and there were 1281 total entries, down slightly from 2009. Through generous donations from our sponsors we were able to provide Champion belt buckles and Reserve stable tables in all of the NASMA National Championship classes. We provided a total of 42 buckles and 42 stable tables. Because the committee was able to secure funds and product from more than 40 sponsors, I'm again pleased to announce that the show was completely self sufficient and no NASMA funds were requested or needed. During the show the committee put on a silent auction to help benefit the NASMA Youth Scholarship Fund. We raised a total of $2,171.00, earmarking $500.00 to benefit a NASMA youth scholarship with the balance going to help fund the 2011 show. The National Show booth also doubled as the NASMA promotional booth where we had a several people join as well as re-new membership. The 2011 NASMA National Show is our 3rd annual and the Great Celebration's 20th annual. It's been a pleasure working with the committee and show management to put on this world class event each year. It's with mixed feelings that I tender my resignation as committee show chairman. If this show is to continue I asked that someone step up and take over the committee and continue our National Show. I'll be happy to be available to consult to help make the transition easier. Respectfully submitted, Tom Cochran, Chairman NASMA National Championship Show Committee

PROMOTION COMMITTEE
6/14/2011 Based on the Standard Operating Procedure adopted by the Board of Directors in 2009, this report outlines the work of
the Committee as submitted by Sue King, Chair.
PROMOTION COMMITTEE
Sue King- Chair, [email protected] ,
Shannon Ambrosio,[email protected],,
Cindi Slemp, [email protected]
Rick Hamilton, [email protected],
Mel Wilson, [email protected] In order to meet the guidelines of the SOP for this committee, the committee has:
NASMA PAGE In order to attract new members and recognition of
the goals of NASMA, the committee established a facebook®
presence. The page has 628 Fans and can be accessed using this link:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/North-American-Saddle-Mule-Association-
NASMA/85415396193?ref=ts
NASMA GROUP PAGE facebook® chose to archive our group
page for lack of members posts. I have started a new group page
but it is quite different and, of course all photos and members will not be transferred. If
you’d like to renew the group go to:
https://www.facebook.com/?tid=1876823443734&sk=inbox#!/home.php?sk=group_169017893162122¬if_t=group_r2j
The committee has also established a presence on twitter® under the name NASMAposse. The
presence has 22 followers.
With the help of Debbie Cochran, NASMA Promotion Committee participated in The Great Horse Breeds of the World
Coffee Table book with four pages of information about mules and donkeys in addition to information about NASMA. The
cost incurred of participating was offset by those who submitted photos to be used for our breed association. Information
on ordering and discounts for NASMA members will be posted in the Members Log In on the website.
STATUS REPORT
Plans for the 2011
In order to follow the SOP guidelines for this Committee, maintain and update all three presences. If,
however, the facebook® Group Page is not updated by the members, we may realistically drop it as
facebook® is changing and is considering going public which may affect recognition of groups.
Since, twitter® has not attracted many followers and maintaining it is time intensive since its purpose
requires daily, if not hourly, updates I would suggest the emphasis be put on facebook®.
Develop more promotional ideas.
Again, I would like to extend my appreciation to Debbie and Tom Cochran their work on the Coffee Table Book and to the
Committee for their hard work and look forward to working with them in the upcoming year.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sue King, Chair
Promotion Committee
The youth committee did not receive any scholarship applications this year. Respectfully submitted, Cheryl Metheny, Chairperson Budget is still being worked on and will be reported in the next couple of days. Sorry for the delay. Terri Barfield, Treasurer
