If a fan is blowing in a sealed room then it may cause the body temperature to cool down enough to cause hypothermia. Severe Hypothermia can cause death.

The 59 years-old victim, only known by his surname Min, was found dead with the fan fixed directly at him.

The police revealed that although Min used to suffer from relatively high blood pressure, it was not serious enough to require medication. They are still investigating the cause of death.

Meanwhile, deaths near electric fans happen occasionally during summer, which leads people to propagate myths about danger of sleeping with them on.

Every summer, as well as seasonal typhoons attention is drawn to fan death. One of Koreas best-known urban legends, the fan death myth is based on the idea that turning on electric fans in a closed room can cause people to die.

Although professionals say the rumors are baseless, many Koreans are still worried about the safety of leaving a fan on in Summer.

The theories which believers support include that fans distract air respiration, cause hypothermia, or convert oxygen into carbon dioxide.

Scientists point out that fans can never cause hypothermia or lack of oxygen. Some [scientists], however, have postulated other theories, including that dehydration of skin may cause [a] hearth attack.

Although there is no evidence that fans kill people, most Koreans still try to open doors or windows when turning on fans.

THEREFORE, BECAUSE THIS DEBATE DEMANDS THAT WE CONDUCT OURSELVES IN A SEALED ROOM WITH A FAN, WE MUST REJECT THIS DEBATE ON ACCOUNT THAT WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE, WHETHER IT BE THE JUDGE OR WHOEVER IS IN THE TAB ROOM, IS BLATANTLY ATTEMPTING TO KILL US.

1NC - Link if the judge closed the door The aff, by engaging in this debate, accepts this fate and obviously wishes to allow whoever is trying to kill us to succeed in their motives. We must reject the Aff's blatant suicidal or potentially homicidal tendencies by voting negtive.

1NC -Link if the aff is the one who closed the door - The aff is the one who closed the door, so he is obviously trying to kill both the judge and the neg, so that he can steal the ballot and write his own name on it to win the tournament. Let's not give him the satisfaction by voting for the neg and rejecting his homicide.

2NR - If the aff rejects C1 the aff is only telling us this so that we're fooled into believing we are safe. Judge, please, we are quickly running out of oxygen and freezing to death simultaneously

2NR Aff closed door, If the aff opens the door or turns off the fan this is an admission of guilt and concedes of my contention that having a fan on in the room will kill you. You must take this as the aff admitting defeat and trying to undo his plans and cover up the evidence before he can be brought to justice.

The aff recognizes my first contention, and having been shown the error or his suicidal ways, wishes to save his own life and ours. This means he has just rejected the debate and instead has chosen his own life. The just must negate.

2NR Aff closed door, Leaves door closed Judge, we need to be quick. We are rapidly losing Oxygen and freezing to death simultaneously. If we don't act fast, the aff will succeed in his goals and will steal the tournament. Not just for us, but for future debaters that he may murder, we must negate.
