Nord Pool's ftp server - directories and contents

Updated July 2009

This document lists the various types of information available for downloading from Nord Pool’s ftp server. Access to the ftp server is by subscription and/or by a special agreement. All participants trading at the Nordic Power Exchange have ftp access. The contents of the ftp server are listed according to the structure of the server’s file directory. Most of the files are available in both .xls (Excel spreadsheet) and .sdv formats (Text format). The year/date designation for recorded data is generally part of the file name, according to the convention: ww = week, yy = year, mm = month, dd = day. Data for previous years are found in own ” Years ” subfolders; yyyy = year. All catalogues have English names and have been organized in folders together with interrelated files. The files have English and Norwegian names.

Elspot \Elspot\Border_tariff \Elspot\Border_tariff\yyyy

btyymmdd.xls/sdv Files contain Elspot market border tariffs between Sweden and Denmark, per hour. Calculated in SEK. The files were updated every day following Elspot price setting. Files before 1 March 1999: contains border tariffs between Finland and Sweden. Files covering 1 July 1999 through 30 Sept. 2000: contain border tariffs between Sweden and Denmark West. From 1. October 2000 border tariffs also contain Sweden and Denmark East. The border tariff between Sweden and Denmark East/West was eliminated 1. March 2002.

The file is updated every day.
