    Sacramento Health Fair

    The 2014 International Medical Congress ended this last Sunday

    with a public health fair at the Sacramento Church. Volunteers from

    around the world participated in the event. The result of the health

    fair was many, many visitors coming to the church for the very first

    time. The next health event in Sacramento will be a juicing class on

    Sunday, October 12. Just before that event those who had blood tests

    done during the health fair will receive a medical consultation withtheir results.

    NutritionExerciseAustralian scientists published research showing that

    being active can slash your risk of cognitive decline by as much as

    38%. Increased heart rate increases circulation, boosting the flow of

    nutrient-rich blood. This has been shown to spur new brain cell

    growth. The researchers concluded that you should aim for at least

    30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week.

    TemperanceA study published in theJournal of the AmericanHeart Associationreveals that people with a body mass index under

    25 had a 29% lower odd of cognitive impairment than those with

    BMIs over 30. Staying trim could stave of brain decline.

    Air

    RestPut the phone or tablet down when you eat. New research

    from Northwestern University suggests that exposure to blue light

    (like that emitted from a laptop, smartphone, or tablet) before

    mealtime may make you eat more. 15 minutes after being exposed

    to blue light, study participants felt an increase in hunger that lasted
