24 NorCal Reformer Friday, April 4, 2014 In Loving Memory: Neville Brittain It is with sorrow that we report the passing of Br. Neville Brittain. Death is never pleasant. It is an even greater loss when the person dying has made a point of living. Over the last 85 years, Pastor Neville S. Brittain lived. Br. Brittain will be remembered for his achievements. As a natural health practitioner, he served at a clinic and eventually as national president of the Australian organization of natural health practitioners. Then he served the church as local pastor in the Pacific and African regions, and eventually as General Conference President from 1991 to 1995. As a physician and a minster, he served in many capacities in each profession. He was a significant contributor to the hymnal published by Reformation Herald that we use in church every Sabbath. Br. Brittain will be remembered as a servant. Patients at the clinic, and people around the world found him interested in their well- being. No matter how great his administrative burden, he never rose above helping whoever he met. He was practical and attentive. Br. Brittain will be remembered as a thinker. His sermons and articles were well thought out, balanced, and very instructive. He had just the right text or statement for each point he was making. Br. Brittain will be remembered as a family man. Where ever he traveled around the world, he prayed for his family. They were always on his mind. Br. Brittain is a demonstration of the value of investing in young people. He was an early student of the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement missionary training school in Australia. He was also raised by a godly mother that he admired. And now at the end we thank God for his life, and trust him to God’s care. We ask God to comfort the Brittain family. We ask God to give us grace to live out our years on earth as honorably as our friend and brother. And we ask God to unite us all again in the resurrection. -contributed by Tobias Stockler 1 NORCAL REFORMER Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Northern California Conference Upcoming Events April 6, 2014 Kenya Breakfast Kitchen April 8, 2014 Homeless food distribution in Marysville April 12, 2014 Afternoon Youth Study May 4, 2014 Start of the NCC missionary school program in Moriah Heights June 6-8, 2014 Spiritual Conference in Leoni Meadows June 21, 2014 Baptism at Moriah Heights July 3-6, 2014 Prophecy seminar at Moriah Heights Church August 4-20, 2014 Medical Mission trip to Kenya August 29-31, 2014 Evangelism conference in Moriah Heights
