  • 2. Tip: Whether you use the print or electronic version of a book, look it up in RhinoCat. Its really easy to find information you need for NoodleTools there.
  • 3. Choose Anthology / Collection from the pull-down list of source types An Anthology is generally a collection of literary works, such as short stories, poems, or plays. The NoodleTools template Anthology / Collection works well for citing primary sources contained in our books and ebooks because it allows you to cite a previously published source contained within another source.
  • 4. Choose Continue.
  • 5. NoodleTools defaults to Print IMPORTANT! Did you find your primary source in one of Tafts subscription databases such as Gale Virtual Reference Library or Salem History?
  • 6. If so, click on the Database tab.
  • 7. Another way to go If you found your document in an electronic database, you can select Database at the beginning
  • 8. And then choose Anthology / Collection from the list of Database content
  • 9. The only difference between the Print and Database forms is that you must provide the name of the Database in which you found your document. From here down, the forms are identical.
  • 10. Information about the primary source goes in this section. Information about the book or ebook containing the primary source goes in this section
  • 11. Select the name of the Database from the list. But leave DOI, URL and Database Accession Number blank. We dont require them at Taft. X X X Click on today to autofill the date
  • 12. Find the Author, Title and the Date of your document
  • 13. Fill in Author, Title of document and Year originally published in the area labeled Story, Essay, Poem, Longer Work.
  • 14. Add the specific page numbers of your document in the Anthology / Collection area. Enter Editors, Title and Publication information of the book/ebook containing your document
  • 15. Click Submit
  • 16. Your new citation for the document by Cotton Mather
  • 17. Edit, Copy or Delete your citation
  • 18. Click on Footnote Format for the pop-up window showing the format for your first footnote and subsequent notes.
  • 19. Customize the example with the page number of your quotation or paraphrase and NoodleTools will autofill the footnotes above. Note: Page numbers arent always available in electronic sources.
  • 20. Copy and Paste footnotes into your paper
  • 21. Your ready-to-print bibliography Tip: SAVE it to your Documents folder
