NONECO Write-up Report:
NONECO celebrates 53rd Foundation Day
The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. celebrated its 53rd Foundation
Day on the 4th of April, 2016 at the Consumer’s Hall just like any normal Mondays with
the usual flag ceremony and unity dance. All Area Managers and Department
Managers were present as well as all of the employees of NONECO except for the
skeletal force that was formed so normal operations of NONECO won’t be hindered.
The program started at 8 o’clock in the morning and was met by an outburst of energy
because, incidentally, it was also the birthday of GM Dan Pondevilla.
After the Flag Ceremony, NONECO served a Thanksgiving Mass which was
attended by NONECO Board of Director, General Manager, Atty. Danny L. Pondevilla,
together with his family and the entire NONECO community. Thanksgiving Mass has
always been a part of every NONECO’s events and occasions.
One of the main agenda of the event is the signing of the 2016-2021 Collective
Bargaining Agreement. It quickly followed right after the Thanksgiving Mass.
NONECO mascots, NONEE and NEECO, were also formally introduced to the
Board of Directors and NONECO employees. It is their official launching and their first
appearance since the conceptualization by the Mascot Making Contest winner Mr.
Michael Alvin A. Rodriguez of San Carlos City. They came all the way from Manila and
were shipped on the day before the actual foundation day celebration.
After the announcement and the very first appearance of the NONECO mascots, a
friendly match of basketball was held in the Consumer’s Hall against NOCECO players.
NONECO team won the friendly game. After the basketball match, lunch was served
for everybody.
One of the main events of the program was held after lunch, the awarding of
NONECO’s best performing area offices and employees.
Best Area Office and Area Manager – Sagay Area Office, Engr. Simon Peter T.
Abalayan.
Also, as a sign of full support to the senatorial hopeful, former DOE secretary, Carlos
Jericho Petilla, NONECO employees raised their banners and tarps bearing his name
and his number; 41.
Finally, at the program’s end, NONECO employees celebrated GM Dan’s birthday as a
sign of respect and appreciation of what he accomplished for NONECO.
The entire NONECO family prepared video presentations that relayed their warm love
for the General Manager. Messages from his family and close acquantances were also
presented. GM Dan’s wife, Ms. Geraldine Pondevilla and brother, Police Major Rollie
Pondevilla also prepared a song numer for his special day.
