'All that part of Block D of Tuttle's Addition to Saint Anthony Falls which lies southerly and southeasterly of the railroad lands and railroad rights of way and railroad tracks extending through said Block D, according to the plat of said addition on file and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds of said Hennepin County.'

Resolved, Further that the President of the Board of Regents be, and hereby is authorized and directed to pur-

chase said lands and each parcel thereof on such terms as he may deem best.

Resolved, further, that the Attorney General be and here- by is directed to institute and prosecute in the name of the University of Minnesota, or in the name of the State of Min- nesota, or both, proceedings in the District Court of Minne- sota in accordance with the statutes in such case made and provided for the taking and condemnation of such lands in fee simple absolute under the power of eminent domain, and that the Attorney General be authorized and directed in his discretion to institute and conduct one or more such condem- nation proceedings for the purposes aforesaid, as he may find necessary or expedient."

Voted that the degrees oi the senior class oi the School of Mines be conferred in absentia.

Voted to accept with thanks the prize oi $220 for research work in Anatomy by Dr. Emil S. Geist, and to approve the recommendation that the prize be di- vided equally between Halbert L. Dunn and Alfred N. Bessessen, Jr.

Voted to accept with thanks the prize oi $50 ior pathological research by the Pathological Society oi the University.

Voted to approve the sketches ior the Mines Ex- periment Station building and that the Board oi Con- trol be requested to have plans prepared in accord- ance with the skteches.

Protests in regard to the location of the new Music building were received and placed on file.

Voted to approve the location o i the new Library building north oi the Chemistry building, facing in the same direction.

Voted to deny the request that advertisements of teaching iellowships in the several departments o i the Medical School be placed in the Journal of the Ameri- can Medical Association.

Voted that the degree o i Doctor oi Medicine "with distinction" be awarded Max H. Hoffman, in recogni- tion oi his scholarship and thesis.
