TINTRODUCTION
There really isn’t anything new under the sun.
Evil in its manifestation may seem to have
risen to heights unimaginable today but
it’s still the same old stealing, killing and destroying
tactics of Satan. Hell’s game plan has always been to
lure humanity away from the refuge of God’s Word
to the unsafe zone of unbelief and doubt so as to
wreak havoc. This twisted scheme, as predictable as
it is, still holds sway in countless lives today. Even
Christians are caught in the web. Sometimes, it’s hard
to convince people of the claims of scriptures, that
the evil one has really been defeated.
However, there is no reason to doubt the Word of
God! Remember, that’s the enemy’s goal in the first
2
No More Toil
place. The Word is the truth; it is the instrument for
consistent enlightenment, defense and productivity.
It is the standard through which we can easily tell
what is right or not because it is the only entity that is
always right and can make things right. Every lasting
success in life is achieved by abiding by the principles
of the Word; every failure happens by falling short of
its dictates. It’s as straightforward as that!
Little wonder the enemy’s camp is busy building
barricades in the minds of people so that the truth
will not sink in let alone be acted upon. Believing
its barrage of lies instead, people are being denied
the grand benefits of walking in the truth, they are
deprived of such benefits as life, peace, prosperity
and wholeness.
One word captures this deprivation and that is
TOILS. It encompasses everything that has to do
with struggling and sweating with little or nothing to
show for it.
3
Introduction
There is a vicious cycle of sin and death on rampage
causing happenings of struggle and hardship.
However, the real problem is not those happenings but
the mindset being built by analyzing them. By natural
reasoning, people have come to accept suffering and
struggling as normal. They have accommodated it in
their minds and so it keeps happening. This is a major
score against mankind.
Alas, Christians are the worst victims! While
unbelievers just accept their fate or try crooked means
to “alleviate” their distress, most Christians (no matter
how brainwashed by the lies of the enemy) still find
the truth nudging them from time to time. A situation
that could be very frustrating because they have not
fully embraced the truth.
In that state, mere religion sets in with devilish theories
like “life is meant to be rough and hard” and “poverty
is part and parcel of our calling.”
How some people have turned the scriptures upside
down to fit this thought pattern amazes me. Attaching

No More Toil
the Christian faith with toil! This is the height of
crookedness!
Nevertheless, the truth stands sure. Though the
word toil appears in the Bible many times, there was
no reference to it as the lifestyle of a new covenant
believer. Everywhere toil is mentioned, it is either in
respect of the curse that came upon mankind after
the fall, or concerning people not walking by the
principles of faith in God. It is evidently clear that
toiling is not God’s plan, for Christ has redeemed us
from the curse of the law. We have been accepted in
the beloved to act in faith towards the Father without
a shadow of doubt or fear of being turned down. We
only need to move from the realm of works to the
realm of faith – believing in the goodness that the
Father has in store for us irrespective of the challenges
we may be facing.
This book is set to remove all false notions and ideas
about living a low-rate life as it opens you up to the
mind of the Father regarding your wholeness and
5

prosperity. From different accounts of scripture, you
will come to a life-transforming understanding that
will make you shrug off any form of hardship and set
you on a pedestal that will make you expect, believe,
act and eventually have the best in life. By this truth,
you will outgrow the mindset of toiling and develop
instead, the mindset of reigning. No More Toil is
not just a fancy title; it is a prophetic phrase that will
release an anointing over you to bring an end to every
form of curse in your life. From lack you will move
to productivity and from scarceness to abundance. As
you affirm it and declare it based on the revelations
from scriptures that you will encounter in this book,
the wheels will turn for you, to the frustration of the
enemy.
Receive a life-changing encounter as the truth finds its
resting place in your heart. No more toil!

TCHAPTER 1
TOIL: A PRODUCT OF THE CURSE
The words “toil” and “work” are used
interchangeably in our world today.
However, looking at their real definitions
they are not as synonymous as people think. While
both of them have to do with applying effort, they
greatly differ in results. While work simply implies
giving your energy and time to a particular cause
to bring about a worthwhile result, toil connotes
expending much resources, energy and time yet with
little or nothing to show for it.
The original intention of God is that we work and not
toil. That was evidenced in the beginning when God
created the Garden of Eden for Adam. God told
8
No More Toil
Adam to tend the Garden (Genesis 2:15). In essence,
God said: “Adam, manage and run this whole garden.”
That was his job description: caring and looking after
his place of assignment. That was not toil; that was
work. Why? Eden wasn’t some desolate garden that
Adam would have to struggle to keep. The garden
already had everything good and desirable. It was a
perfect environment where everything was working.
Adam did not encounter any stress doing his work
otherwise the Bible would have indicated that. Instead,
he was having the time of his life in the garden. Though
he was diligent at his duties, he was not worn out by
them. He was in complete dominion over the garden
and he had all resources at his disposal. Even the
essential need of a life partner came while he was busy
working. He had time to fellowship with God in the
cool of the day. He also had time for companionship
with his lovely wife; they both had time for recreation
and enough time for rest. Translate that to our day
and you will realize that this man Adam had the best
of jobs. He owned the job; the job didn’t own him.
9
Chapter 1: Toil: A Product of the Curse
Another thing you will notice is that Adam was not
working in order to make ends meet. He was not in a
rat race in the bid to cater for himself or his household.
All the fruits and herbs of the garden were for him
to enjoy freely. Everything had been designed for him
and he was never to lack or be broke. The benefits
that go with this job were, to say the least, mouth-
watering. They comprised all the goods and services
of the most functioning estate!
The Curse
A drastic change occurred when Adam and his wife
ate of the forbidden fruit and sinned against God.
God’s judgment landed immediately on them and their
existence was greatly altered as a result. Something
really bad had happened!
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake…
Genesis 3:17
10
No More Toil
The ‘curse’! It’s one word that no one in his right
senses wants to be identified with. In literal meaning,
it implies an empowerment to fail You have probably
seen some people who are under some kind of a spell
and with all the efforts they put into what they do,
things keep crumbling.
When God declared, “cursed is the ground for your
sake,” the whole environment became empowered
to fail. That means the land, which had been yielding
plenty before the curse, started yielding little if
anything at all. The soil that was tender and soft before
suddenly became hard. Everything went out of order
so much so that “Eden” suddenly was no more. What
was left was a terrain of hardship and turmoil.
It was at this point that toil came into the picture.
Because the environment had been cursed, man was
left with no other choice than to sweat and struggle.
For him to get something out of the ground, he had
to exert extra energy. For the woman to give birth,
11
Chapter 1: Toil: A Product of the Curse
she had to labor painfully. It was a far-cry from what
obtained before the fall. The curse had started taking
its toll.
…I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception;
in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children…in sorrow
shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also
and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt
eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt
thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out
of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust
shalt thou return.
Genesis 3:16-19
Toil was a product of the Curse!
The Blessing Versus the Curse
In the realm of the spirit, there is no vacuum. Before
the introduction of the curse, another force must
have been prevailing in the Garden of Eden which
made conditions very rosy for Adam and Eve. Going
back to creation, we can see this force responsible for
the good environment of Eden.
12
No More Toil
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be
fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and
subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing
that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:28
God blessed them, and that was it! The blessing was
the force responsible for Eden. It is the exact opposite
of the curse. While the curse is the empowerment to
fail, the blessing is the empowerment to succeed, excel
and prosper. When the blessing was in operation in
the Garden of Eden, toiling was not heard of. Instead
of the land to be hard and unyielding, it was soft and
tender. Little wonder God told Adam to tend the
garden (tend and tender do relate)! You don’t tend a
hard ground!
What therefore determines a man’s output is not first
of all the kind of work he is doing but the kind of
force and atmosphere he is operating under. Adam
13
Chapter 1: Toil: A Product of the Curse
and Eve could later tell the difference clearly. A blessed
environment will bring about great results optimally.
You don’t need to break your back or have constant
headache over it. Under such environment, your job
comes with such fun that people around you would
love to be like you. A cursed environment is just the
reverse. This is why the application of efforts under
the blessing is termed tend and under the curse it is
termed toil.
The Blessing is Here
The story did not end with Adam. The episodes
continued until Jesus came to the world to deal with
the curse and reintroduce the blessing. The whole
essence of Jesus’ coming to the world would not be
complete without dealing a blow to the root of toil.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one
that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham
14
No More Toil
might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that
we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:13, 14
Praise God! In Christ Jesus there is no curse. Not any
longer! Thus, there should be no more toil. The last
Adam (Jesus), by His sacrifice, has reversed the order
from curse to blessing. Anyone that is known by His
name can work under the conducive and convenient
atmosphere of the blessing. No More Toil! The nature
of the ground has once again been changed from
hard to soft. There is an invisible Garden of Eden
that each Christian has been placed. In that garden,
his needs are met and his bills are paid without stress
because there’s provision already in that garden.
Things certainly have to work!.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:3
15
Chapter 1: Toil: A Product of the Curse
If you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior
the blessing is yours. People without the blessing may
need to do something extra on their ground, but the
Bible says where you are concerned that will not be
necessary. The earth ought to produce for you of its
own accord as you become diligent in the work (not
toil) that God places in your hand. This was settled
over 2,000 years after your redemption took place.
You shouldn’t toil again!
Dissociate from the “Hard Life”
Yes, toil was prevalent in the time gap between Adam
and Jesus and may still be the order of the day with
the unbelievers of our time. However, it is not meant
to be your portion. Christ has redeemed and separated
you from it. You are called to tend. It’s abnormal
for you to toil. It may be normal for that unbeliever
neighbor of yours but it should be absolutely odd and
strange for you.
Let me spell it out to you in modern day terms.
16
No More Toil
Barely surviving and living from paycheck to paycheck
is toiling. Working with little or no time to rest
because you are trying to make ends meet is toiling.
Laboring with nothing to show for it at the end is
toiling. Being enslaved to a job position no matter
how much you are being paid is toiling. Looking for
a job, accommodation or admission for years with no
way out is toiling. Waiting for breakthroughs that are
taking forever to manifest is toiling.
You need to dissociate from all these. Things are not
meant to be that hard, actually they’re not meant to
be hard at all. Even if you are presently experiencing
such, tell yourself it is not meant to be. Rise up with
a consciousness and realization of the blessing. You
are empowered to succeed, excel and prosper. You are
the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. No
More Toil!
We live in a world where people’s idea of work is
hard labor or exertion of effort. God did not design
17
Chapter 1: Toil: A Product of the Curse
work originally to come with toil. Work is meant to
be enjoyed; it ought to bring fulfillment. The original
intention is that you work in your given place of
assignment and His blessing multiplies your work for
a great result. You are not a beast of burden. You
shouldn’t work like one!

TCHAPTER 2
THE LAWS OF EXISTENCE
This truth needs to be properly established
because it is a matter of life and death. It
is the difference between those that have
lasting success and those that peak prematurely or
never take a flight in life. There are certain laws and
forces governing our existence. We need to know these
laws and forces so that we can position ourselves to
have and enjoy the best in life.
The curse that was pronounced upon mankind after
the fall messed up the system of this planet. It ignited
the operation of the law of sin and death. This law
brought about all sorts of manifestations of death
(sickness, poverty, accident, physical death etc.)
20
No More Toil
translating to a life full of toil for man. Before the fall,
these plagues were not in existence. In the Garden
of Eden, before sin came, there was no indication of
toil. When death, sin’s accomplice, showed up on the
scene, toil started prevailing. This was the origin of
whatever hardship any man is facing right now.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
When Jesus came, He introduced another law, the
law of the Spirit of life. This law allows anyone who
operates it to put aside everything that has to do with
toiling and really enjoy life the same way Adam and
Eve did in the Garden. The law of the Spirit of life
started coexisting with the law of sin and death, and
it works for whoever yields to it.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:2
21
Chapter 2: The Laws of Existence
Between Adam and Jesus, There was another law that
was introduced called the law of works. This was the
set of dos and don’ts given to Moses. This law was
introduced so that man could know there was a sin
problem with a penalty attached. This law however,
could not help matters. As a matter of fact, man’s
problem worsened. The law had come to increase the
consciousness of sin without solving its problem. It
had come to set a boundary for man that he could not
help himself from crossing. How much of the law
could he keep, when sin was reigning supreme?
For a long time I did not enjoy reading the books of
Leviticus and Numbers. I could picture the dilemma
of those people that wanted to keep all the numerous
rules. It was a goal that was way too high. You give
it your best shot to obey all but if you fail in one or
two, then you have failed. No matter how hard you
try, you cannot be justified before God by works. It
would always result in a fruitless effort. The law of
works was a law of toil – it was a principle that further
enhanced sweating and struggling.
22
No More Toil
Due to the law of sin and death, the people couldn’t
stop sinning. In the law of works, they had rules
judging and condemning them each time they sinned.
For the people, it was double toil.
…Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had
not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not
covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment,
wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without
the law sin was dead.
Romans 7:7-8
The law was an unfair taskmaster - on one hand
requiring of them up to do right (as if they could
always be right) but on the other hand so quick to
point out the wrong when they missed it.
Man got used to Toil!
This definitely had a direct impact on man’s daily
duty. The failure to meet the full requirements of
the law created a resonance in man’s pursuit of daily
23
Chapter 2: The Laws of Existence
bread. Because the ground was already cursed, man’s
excessive laboring to get something tangible out of
the land, which usually proved abortive, sent the same
message of toil. This background knowledge soon
took over as a major stronghold in the mind. Phrases
like “making ends meet” developed from this mindset.
Man became, for want of a better word, a hustler.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under
the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
continueth not in all things which are written in the
book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:10
The law of works, as far as toiling was concerned, was
the nail in the coffin. However, for everything evil you
see in this world, know that there is a good. In fact, the
evil must be the later fake version because everything
was made originally good in the beginning. Before
the law of sin and death came into being after Adam
sinned, there was in operation the law of the Spirit of
24
No More Toil
life, which Jesus later came to reintroduce. Evidently,
this law was responsible for the beauty and excellence
of the Garden of Eden. The blessing, already defined
as the empowerment to succeed, excel and prosper
operates under this law. You can understand why
Eden was a “heaven on earth” because everything
therein was empowered to prosper. After Adam
sinned, the law of the Spirit of life was relegated to
the background in the affairs of man. The law of sin
and death then took the driver’s seat.
That means Eden was a product of the law of Spirit
of life. Jesus had come to reintroduce this law by His
death and resurrection. Anyone that accepts Him as
His Lord and Savior can experience the blessing of
Eden. By the sacrificial love of Jesus, we have been
legally set free from toil. This is the great liberty for
man.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which
are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but
25
Chapter 2: The Laws of Existence
after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in
Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death.
Romans 8:1-2
Here we are, separated from the vicious cycle of sin
and death.
The Law of Faith
The question is: If indeed all Christians are qualified
to have the law of the spirit of life working for them,
why is it that not so many are experiencing the blessing?
Why is it that a lot of Christians are still finding it hard
to put food on the table and clothing on their back?
There is a universal principle of cause and effect that
we need to look at to answer that question. God says,
for example, give and it shall be given unto you. That
means a person causes a harvest to come to him when
he gives. Every effect upon a man, good or bad, is a
result of something he did or caused.
26
No More Toil
As it has been established, the law of sin and death is
a direct impact of the curse upon mankind. However,
what amplified and made it pronounced was the law.
The law of works, as it is called, was and is the cause
for the effects of sin and death. They go hand in
hand. When a man operates by the law of works, he
automatically experiences the curse.
The blessing-ushering law of the spirit of life was also
an effect. And its cause is revealed by Paul:
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit
by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:2
The law of the spirit of life is activated by faith. The
law of faith is the cause for the effect of the law of the
spirit of life. Without faith there is no manifestation
of the blessing. And when there is no blessing there
will automatically be toil!
27
Chapter 2: The Laws of Existence
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the
promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:14
There are therefore two separate pairs of cause and
effect. First is the law of works with its effect, the law
of the sin and death. Second is the law of faith with
its own effect, the law of the Spirit of life. Both the
effects of sin and death and spirit of life co-exist in
the world today and each man’s experience, whether
curse or blessing, rest or toil, depends on the kind of
cause he is engaged in, works or faith.
The reason why a Christian, though he has been set
free, can still experience the curse has now come to
light. If a believer will not walk by the law of faith
but instead walk by the law of works, he will not
experience the blessing. Rather, he will experience the
curse because that is all the law of works can bring
about. It is quite simple: You do the law of works
and you attract the effects of the law - sin and death.
You do the law of faith and you attract the effects of
the law of the spirit of life, no matter who you are or
what law you are legally under.
You are not an Old Testament saint; you are a New
Testament believer (the law of works was for the Old
Testament folks). You are not a natural Jew; you are
a spiritual Jew. You are legally under the law of the
Spirit of life. So, don’t operate by the law of works
that attracts the curse. Embrace the law of faith and
quit sweating. How much sweat will you have to
gather to become your dream? The greatest factor
to your success is not sweat; rather, it is grace (the
New Testament word for the blessing). By grace you
were saved through faith. By the same grace through
the same faith, you will get to the top of your career,
business or ministry.
This is a vital discovery. It is one truth the devil is
desperately wishing we would not get hold of. But

thank God it has come your way. The chapters that
follow are dedicated to this law of faith and the
different ways and avenues of acting by it in order to
enjoy a prosperous and fulfilling life, without toil.
31
TCHAPTER 3
THE WORK OF FAITH
Evidently, a child of God should not go
through life suffering or barely making it.
From the Word-of-God perspective, it is
simply absurd! However, it happens, all around us! In
every single case, however, it is not because the person
has not been set free from the curse but because he has
not really come to believe or act in accordance with
the reality that he is now blessed. Mere mental assent
to this truth will not yield results. Putting a poster
with the caption THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, I
SHALL NOT WANT in your living room and having
the mentality of THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES
can never translate to the reality of the former phrase.
For there to be a change, the mindset of toiling has to
32
No More Toil
be removed completely by the Word.
The effort necessary to cause this change is what most
Christians have not given themselves to.
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any
man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:11
The children of Israel in the wilderness were not ready
to walk by faith. They were trusting in their effort and
scheme to get them to the Promised Land. They toiled
in the flesh going through a journey in forty years that
really should have taken forty days. Eventually, they all
died in the wilderness all because they did not believe
in the power of God that brought them out of Egypt
and achieved many signs and wonders in their midst.
What a sad story!
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter
therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered
33
Chapter 3: The Work of Faith
not in because of unbelief:
Hebrews 4:6
If God is asking us to labor to enter into rest and
the children of Israel could not enter into that rest
because of unbelief, then it is evident that the labor
to enter into God’s rest is the labor of faith. For the
New Testament believer who is building, maintaining
and acting in faith is the number one assignment. It
must be prized higher than our daily jobs and routines,
whatever they are.
Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that
meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the
Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the
Father sealed.
John 6:27
It is true that the Bible commands us to work and be
diligent in our business. This is part of the faith process;
the person claiming to be walking by faith and not
working is walking in foolishness. Work is important
and relevant and should never be neglected. But you
34
No More Toil
need more than natural effort to be successful. What
your work does is supply the seed for your desired
future destiny. Your faith then activates the grace that
will make your seeds become fruits.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him
labor, working with his hands the thing which is good,
that he may have to give to him that needeth.
Ephesians 4:28
God expects us to work but he does not expect us to
trust in our work.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you;
that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may
abound to every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
Without grace, which comes by faith, your seed of
35
Chapter 3: The Work of Faith
work will not find the nutrient to properly germinate
and grow. Lack of faith brings the law of works into
operation and this always edges a person to experience
the curse. Toil is always the eventual result of a life
that is focused on work without faith.
People are suffering because they have traded time
and effort for every other thing apart from what really
matters most – the Word of God. The Word is the
fountain of grace that everyone is really looking for to
succeed. Grace is activated by laboring to extract faith
from the Word. It is a labor that is worth it.
There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased
from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor
therefore to enter into that rest…
Hebrews 4:9-11
The labor in the flesh does not give lasting or
satisfactory result. A man that will not labor in the
36
No More Toil
Word of God will only have in life what his natural
effort can fetch him. If he is an employee, for instance,
all he gets is a salary at the end of the month. Even if
the pay is quite substantial, it most likely cannot meet
all his financial obligations. Assuming it can, it cannot
stop him from being sacked or prevent him or his
children from getting sick; it cannot guarantee he will
not have a crash or guarantee his next level. But grace
can do all that. There is no need that grace cannot
meet and no bill that it cannot pay. Grace removes
every burden.
Jesus came to this world to do his Father’s will, and
He called it business (Luke 2:49). For three years,
this business of His held the world spellbound
with outstanding testimonies of miracles, signs and
wonders. He became very successful at what He
was doing, which was teaching and ministering to
the needs of people. Jesus had such great results in
His business because His faith in the Father was in
operation all through. That faith was tested in several
situations.
37
Chapter 3: The Work of Faith
When wine finished at the wedding, when multitudes
were hungry and there was only a handful of loaves
and fishes around, when He came face to face with a
situation of raising a man who was already dead for
four days and in the grave etc.. These tests would have
made the average minister or businessman to quit, but
He held on still and produced results. Jesus spelled
out the secret of his success to his disciples when they
asked him a question that showed they had seen in
Jesus the difference between toil and rest.
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we
might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said
unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on
him whom he hath sent.
John 6: 28-29
This is the work of God: To believe on Him that He
has sent.

Work to Believe
The primary work or labor that God expects us to
do is to believe. Our quests and successes in career,
profession or occupation should be a direct product
of our faith in God. That was the secret of Jesus’
success in what He was called to do. He believed to
fulfill His assignments on earth. He came face to
face with different kinds of challenges but He never
buckled under any problem because of His faith
in His Father and His assignment, and His love for
people that He had come to save. All the miracles He
performed should have been opportunities for worry
and anxiety but His faith turned them into times of
testimonies.
Though you and I as believers will face challenges in
life, God expects us to ride over them and not toil
under them. Where issues of life are concerned, He
expects you to walk by faith and not by sight. Your
mind should not be on the problem, it should be on
the power of God that will solve the problem. No
39
Chapter 3: The Work of Faith
matter what the devil throws at you, believe that you
will overcome. Know that God is with you even in the
valley of the shadow of death. Know that you have
a company of angels ministering for you. While your
mates going through the same challenges are worried
stiff and sore afraid about the future, you are rejoicing
your way into the manifestation of your breakthrough.
Someone says, “It is a time of depression. They are
laying off people at my place of work. I need to figure
out what to do …” God is saying, “Before you start
getting agitated in the flesh, pick up your Bible and
meditate on my promises of prosperity and affirm
them as true in your life. Do it and keep doing it. Let it
become a regular duty to you.” “Things are quite tight
these days; nobody is really making it again in my line
of business. I have got to switch to something else.”
God is saying, “Before you start jumping from one
uncertainty to another, seek my will until you get a
direction for the next step.” It will definitely take you
some time and effort but the Christian that thinks this
is too much a labor is shortchanging himself.
He is settling for a life of hardship. Laboring in the
Word for a season should be desired above a life
sentence of toil, shouldn’t it?
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11: 28-30
It’s time to quit toiling. There is rest in learning of
God. You need to esteem the Word of God more
highly than your natural source of income. You need
to embrace the law of faith because it will take more
than your natural effort to get you to the top. The
biggest thing about your life is not the position you
hold in the establishment you work for now but the
grace of God that can take you to any position in life.
As we see different aspects of life failing, portending
a future of serious hardship, there is only one antidote
to toil: Faith in the never-failing ability of God. 40

TCHAPTER 4
KEEP YOUR MIND AT REST
The God-kind of faith is a function of the
spirit. Bible states that with the heart man
believes. The spirit however has the mind,
a vital part of man’s soul, as its gateway. Whatever
revelation the spirit will receive will have to pass
through the mind. While faith is built in the spirit solely
by the Word of God, the mind is fed by any kind of
information from the physical senses. When the mind
gateway is clouded with information contrary to the
Word, it is difficult to develop or maintain faith in the
heart.
The devil is really capitalizing on this. He is doing his
best on a daily basis to get our minds saturated with
42
No More Toil
news and information that are anti-faith. As a result
of this, it is easy for the mind to actually get in the
way of the Word entering the heart instead of serving
as passageway for faith to develop. People become so
aware of the problems around them that they cannot
find the strength to simply accept God’s promise of
solution to the problem. Toiling starts right there – in
the mind!
Worry is nothing but mental toil. And at times, it
is even more serious than physical toil. More than
anything, it sets in motion a negative supernatural
force that hinders the operation of God. It can make
one literarily sick. People have developed high blood
pressure by engaging in worry. However, Jesus’ rather
logical advice is enough to make one to halt when
worry wants to set in.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for
your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than
43
Chapter 4: Keep Your Mind at Rest
meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of
the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather
into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are
ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking
thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why
take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the
field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his
glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if
God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is,
and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much
more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no
thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we
drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matthew 6:25-31
Focusing on the problem has never changed anyone’s
stature or status for the better. Rather, it usually
worsens it. So, why worry?
44
No More Toil
Worry Over Time
Worry stems from situations and problems that the
mind on its own cannot capture solutions for. When
there is time-constraint, worry tends to hit harder.
Apart from the pressure that won’t do the mind and
body any good, worrying because of time distracts
from what should be done to really solve the problem.
God is an eternal being; He doesn’t live in time and
therefore cannot be moved by time. What moves God
is His purpose and counsel. When people become
hasty because of a seeming delay so much that they
stop reckoning with God’s plan and purpose, they
make matters worse (My book, Jehovah-on-Time,
deals with this in more detail).
A single woman who is all troubled in her mind
because she is yet to have a marital partner should
consider God, who can bring her desire to pass in no
time. Definitely, God knows the kind of husband she
needs for her destiny and He is getting her prepared
and ready for such a man. But if all she wants to do is
45
Chapter 4: Keep Your Mind at Rest
to have a pity party around herself, that man in God’s
will for her will not show up. God will have to wait for
her to be ready so that the man can come.
No regard for God’s purpose, no desired manifestation!
And how mental toil can easily cloud one’s judgment,
and ultimately get one derailed completely from God’s
destiny. Many people have been victims of this.
Too Smart for God
Yet there are others, on the other extreme that are so
given to natural ideas and information that they doubt
the promises of God. They are so used to the natural
course of events that they cannot believe in a miracle.
They got educated at the expense of their faith. Jesus
brought the Word of life that could transform any
situation to His home town. But instead of His people
mixing the Word with faith, they were offended. They
felt Jesus was toying with their intelligence. “How
can he be the Messiah?” they reasoned. “We know
His brothers, sisters, cousins; He is nothing but a
46
No More Toil
carpenter’s son.” (Mark 6:3). As a result of their
unbelief, Bible states that Jesus could not do many
miracles there.
I thought education was supposed to improve people,
but I’ve come to realize that education has destroyed
more people than any other thing. The special adviser
to the king in the book of 2nd Kings was such a
person. He was highly developed mentally – that was
what got him the job in the first place. When the
prophet declared that there would be surplus by the
next day at the gate of Samaria, his analytical mind
could not fathom it. He learned a few formulae and
principles, he had become so full of himself that he
could no longer believe God. “Scarcity today, surplus
tomorrow, how could that be?” Yet while he was busy
analyzing, the miracle had begun. At the end of the
day, what he said could never happen actually did but
he was not there to enjoy it according to the word of
the Prophet.
47
Chapter 4: Keep Your Mind at Rest
The last thing you want to analyze is the power of
God. The few times I had tried to analyze God in
times past, I nearly went mad. When that power is
in manifestation by the declaration of the Word, let
your mental processing accommodate the miracle.
You may not know how it is going to happen, but just
stop your analysis right there and accept the promises
of God like a child will simply accept the promises of
his father. That was what that adviser to the king did
not do. Peter, on the other hand, after toiling all night
received his miracle just by believing and acting on a
simple instruction.
Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon,
Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a
draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master,
we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:
nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And
when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude
of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned
unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that
they should come and help them. And they came, and
48
No More Toil
filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When
Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,
Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For
he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the
draught of the fishes which they had taken:
Luke 5: 4-9
Only Believe
What report are you doubtful and anxious over right
now? What situation around you is breeding worry?
Whatever it is, there is a counter that always works,
and it is encapsulated in this phrase, only believe. The
Bible is filled with people, who in desperate situations,
just believed the Word of God that was spoken
to them. They brought a report to Jairus that his
daughter was dead but Jesus looked at him and said,
“only believe.” And the child eventually came back to
life (Luke 8:40-42, 49-56). The children of Israel in
the days of King Jehoshaphat were surrounded by an
allied force of nations, but the word of God to them
was “believe in the Lord your God.” (2Chronicles
49
Chapter 4: Keep Your Mind at Rest
20:20). Mary, the mother of Jesus, was told she would
be pregnant without the involvement of a man and
she somehow believed that word from God (Luke
1:31-38). As incredible as it was, it happened. If only
we will fear not and doubt not, but only believe!
Jesus told His disciples, “take no thought”(Matthew
6:25). He is still saying the same thing today. He
knows that when your mind is not at rest because of
an issue, you will not be able to move in the direction
of faith and the will of God about that issue. A lot
of times, people have even attracted negative things
to their lives because of unnecessary fear. A lady
came to me after the service one day and told me that
her company was planning to lay off 200 workers in
her company and she was troubled with the thought
that she could be one of them. “Is your name 200
workers?” I asked her, sharply jerking her back to her
spiritual senses. She would have been a victim if she
continued because worry and fear bring the worst in
any situation.
50
No More Toil
Fear, doubt and worry are deadly arrows the devil is
firing everyday and you need to raise your shield of
faith and wield the sword of the spirit to deal with the
source of the fear. When you hear negative news, don’t
act as if nothing has happened. Actually, something
just happened. The enemy of your soul has just fired
a poisonous arrow at you. You need to act fast before
it gets inside you and infiltrates your mind and heart.
Out of the abundance of the Word of God in your
heart, speak out the will of God. If you don’t have a
scripture to counter that negative thought, quickly get
your concordance and locate scriptures and unleash
them by speaking. Continue speaking until you have
not only cleared your mind of the thought but have
dealt with that source of fear, at least for a season.
Never give negative thoughts a foothold in your mind.
Don’t say you are busy and you will deal with it later.
Take a break from what you are doing, if need be.
Remember this is your real work. It is the work of
faith – the work of building and staying in faith. It is
your primary assignment.
51
Chapter 4: Keep Your Mind at Rest
When you hear news about recession and how people
are losing their sources of livelihood, tell yourself
and anyone that cares to listen that the Lord is your
shepherd and you shall not want. When news of
danger of an epidemic, vices or civil unrest is being
spread around, let the promises regarding protection
already stored in your heart rise to the surface and be
voiced out. Never keep quiet or just go on with life
until you have dealt with that root of fear or doubt.
The creative power of God lies on your lips. Use it
to deal with wrong thoughts and generate right ones.
That way, your mind will be able to stay on the Word,
not on the problem.
Negative thoughts in your mind are actually
temptations, which the devil wants you to fall for.
He wants you to speak in line with them so that the
thoughts can prevail. Until you say (for or against)
something, it is not established. Someone says, “I
think I am going to have flu.” Then comes the full
manifestation of the flu! “But I am just expressing the
way I feel,” he might want to argue. No!
52
No More Toil
You don’t need to express the way you feel. You
only need to express what you want. Bind negative
thoughts with the Word of God.
…Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in
heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be
loosed in heaven.
Matthew 18:8
When you have declared the Word of God, it is time
to praise God for He is true to His Word. This you
do until you see the manifestation. Never allow your
mind to go back to toil over the matter. The battle
line has already been drawn between God and the
challenge. You are not to fight; you are to relax and
watch how God will deal with the trouble. The battle
is not yours; it is God’s.
And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants
of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith
the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by
53
Chapter 4: Keep Your Mind at Rest
reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not
yours, but God’s. Ye shall not need to fight in this
battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation
of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear
not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them:
for the LORD will be with you…and all Judah and
the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD,
worshipping the LORD.
2 Chronicles 20:15,17-18
The children of Israel in the above scripture praised
God and got their victory. In another instance when
they needed to bring down the fortified wall of the city
of Jericho, they only needed to shout. How God gives
odd instructions! Just to shout and praise in a life and
death matter? Crazy! But such instructions usually
get the result that a lifetime of worry can never get.
By praising and shouting in faith, you take the posture
of someone that is at rest. When you do that, and
continue in that, no matter what the circumstance is
dictating, the trouble tends to hit the reverse. Rest and
peace of heart become yours as you do this.
Instead of worrying, you will always have a hope of a
good final outcome in every situation by maintaining
an attitude of gratitude to God all the way. You will
not walk in grudges or malice, and as a result you will
keep your level of mental productivity high and also
receive answers to your prayers. To cap it all, you will
be able to capture and accommodate in your mind the
next miracle and exercise the patience to see it come
to pass. God’s love and care for you will be displayed
to the whole world when you learn to cast your cares
on Him.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7

may not be any reason in the natural to do so but

He takes care of the birds of the air and the lilies

creation of God has their provision then you will not
lack in this world. All you need is to keep laboring in
the Word of God, this will translate to faith that will
keep your mind at rest at all times. Whatever will cost
you to get the Word of God into you, is only saving
you a lifetime of an outward show of toil. So, labor
in the Word so that you will not toil! Remember, His
yoke is easy and His burden is light.
57
TCHAPTER 5
EXPAND YOUR MIND
If there is anything God is looking for, He is
looking for people that will believe Him. That
is why the Bible states that without faith it is
impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith will
not only keep the mind at rest in the face of trials, it
will also help the mind to develop a big capacity in
order to have and enjoy the best of God. While the
rest of the world is lamenting hardship, a real man
of faith is not moved because he simply cannot see
himself lacking. His mind has been developed for
surplus and abundance.
People are desperately in need of a breakthrough but
they are not positioned for the miracle that would
58
No More Toil
really turn things around. The problem here is two-
fold. On one hand, many people have attached their
rewards solely to their physical labor. They make
statements like nothing comes easy or cheap. They
stress the hard in the phrase “hard work” so much
that all that comes to mind is toil. I prefer by far to say
“I am diligent” rather than say “I work hard” because
of the wrong connotation the latter usually conveys.
I met a middle-aged man sometime ago that boasted
that he had worked and sweated for everything he had
to the last cent. He wanted to impress me really, but I
pitied him instead. As dignified and pious his assertion
sounded, it only showed that he had traveled through
a rough road in life. Where is the place of grace and
favor? I completely disagree with such thinking; I
wouldn’t mind at all if things I did not sweat for show
up at my doorstep.
God’s people end up struggling because they have toil
on their mind. The problem is no longer the curse –
59
Chapter 5: Expand Your Mind
that has been taken care of in Christ Jesus. It’s now
a mentality thing! It does not matter what a man’s
stand or status is. He may be rich or poor, young or
old, privileged or deprived, in the will of God or not
– once he does not have the proper perspective of
work, he will keep chasing money and positions all to
no avail. Though a man may have a perfect job or may
be a CEO of his company he will still toil because
he has such mentality and expects things to be hard
and people to be hard on him. Even the best boss
or colleague can turn to a monster because the guy
doesn’t expect anything less. The monster is actually
his mind’s creation. The innocent boss or colleague
just conforms to that image.
As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man
to man.
Proverbs 27:19
I will rather be the one lending to others and not
borrowing because part of my inheritance is to have
60

enough to lend to the nations. I will rather be the one
money is working for even while I’m sleeping and
not working day and night for money. I will rather
celebrate my own money and not celebrate debts in
disguise. God has called me to have dominion in this
planet, and I will not allow a servant or borrower
mentality to rid me of this great responsibility.
Increase Your Capacity
I will not just believe once but I will keep believing
and as a result increase the capacity of my mind to
receive from God. The problem at times is not that
people are not standing in faith; but it is that their
minds can only capture something small. They only
ask or try to believe God for the little their minds
can accommodate. They are drawing, as it were, with
a small and limited container. If they were ever to
receive, it would be an overflow that is still not enough.
In 2 Kings 4, a woman was in dire need of a
breakthrough. Her husband had died and his creditors
were threatening to take her sons in place of the debts
61
Chapter 5: Expand Your Mind
she owed. When she relayed her predicament to Elisha
the prophet, he asked her, “What do you have?” She
answered, “Only a little jar of oil.” That means her
capacity was very small. The prophet knew something
drastic had to happen before she could receive the
level of breakthrough she really desired. He told
her, “Go borrow vessels and borrow not a few.” In
essence, he told her to go and do something about
her capacity so that it would be increased a great deal.
The woman went out in obedience and did gather as
many jars as she could. Then the miracle happened: at
the command of the prophet, the jars supernaturally
kept getting filled with oil and this did not stop until
the last jar was filled. The prophet then told her to go
and sell the oil so that she could pay her debt.
There are two points I want you to note here. One,
if the woman did not increase her capacity by getting
more jars, even if the miracle happened, only her jar
of oil would have been filled. That would be grossly
insufficient to fix her problem. The other is that the
flow of oil actually ceased as soon as the last jar of oil
62
No More Toil
was filled. That means it wasn’t God or the prophet
that stopped the miracle, it was her capacity. God was
ready to keep pouring but she ran out of vessel and
could not contain more. If God continued to pour, it
would only be a waste. If the pouring had continued,
it would soon become a flood, a disaster.
God wants to transform someone from an employee
to an employer and all he is seeing is a 3% raise in
salary! What change could that really bring? God
wants to give someone a whole estate and all he is
preoccupied with is paying his rent. The earth is the
Lord’s and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24). He has
given us the ability to dream free of charge in order
to possess the earth. The wonderful promises of the
Bible are meant to be translated into big dreams and
pictures that will blow minds. Possessing your rightful
inheritance depends on how much of the inheritance
you can see.
63
Chapter 5: Expand Your Mind
…Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where
thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and
westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will
I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
Genesis 13: 14-15
You have to be hungry for excellence enough to
stretch yourself and increase your capacity so that you
can attain it in life.
One good way to increase the capacity of your mind
is to hang around those that have their minds enlarged
already. I met a man in the Philippines years ago who
helped me to increase the capacity of my mind by the
grace of God upon his life. This man walks in unusual
favor to own properties and businesses. He has been
my friend since. Another friend of mine from that
part of the world is a Bishop that oversees over sixty
churches and has the governor of his province as one
of his church members.
64
No More Toil
If all your friends are in the income range of $40,000
to $60,000 a year, and you earn $75,000 and as a
result they all look up to you, making you their local
champion, you really need to reposition yourself very
fast before you “retire” prematurely. If you are in the
league of those that anticipate lack before lack shows
up or picture the end of the month without money
before it comes, you need to change your association
and start moving with those that give out a major part
of their salary as seeds and yet don’t lack in any way.
Look for someone who has a bigger vision or
experience than you have. That was what Lot did. He
wasn’t the one that God spoke to; it was his uncle,
Abraham. However, Lot went with him because he
perceived a great prospect for increase. As a result as
Abraham was getting blessed, he was getting blessed as
well. He and Abraham each had so many possessions
that the land could not contain them.
There is no point talking about prosperity without
increasing one’s capacity.
65
Chapter 5: Expand Your Mind
Prosperity will come but if your container is small,
all your testimonies will always fall short of God’s
best which is for you to own the world. Go read the
biographies of people who have achieved some great
feats in their lifetime, you will realize that these men
were exceptional because they didn’t conform to the
order of the day. They were people with higher level
of capacity than most people of their age. They saw
beyond their generation. They believed their goal
was achievable and they just went ahead to achieve it.
Many of them did not even have the Spirit of God.
They were just determined; it was just their minds at
work. If you are a Christian, you are more privileged.
You have a mind and a spirit that has the nature of
God in it.
What happens when you have almost filled your
present capacity? Go get yourself some new vessels -
increase your capacity. There is something called the
next level, which will require a higher capacity. There
is a way you can become so attached to a particular
level that you will stop expanding your horizon.
66
No More Toil
If you don’t prepare for and move to the next level as
required, then you will be subjected to toiling. If you
will need to get involved in a different field, plan to
do just that. What is wrong with preaching on a pulpit
on Sunday and holding a seminar on investments and
how to make money on Monday? What is wrong with
being an employee in a company and floating your
own business alongside? As long as God is involved
and you are sincere and of integrity, then you are on
course.
A lot of people are stuck at their present places of
work. They are tied down to the security that these
companies offer. I read about a very successful
African businessman who, in spite of the fact that
he is already successful with decades in business, is
still dreaming bigger dreams. Whereas, some twenty-
something-year-olds working in some companies
are already thinking they are going to retire there.
Preposterous! Why can’t you dream of becoming one
of the big boys? A big God lives in you! Abraham was
big in his days, so were Isaac and Jacob.
67
Chapter 5: Expand Your Mind
Laban was trying to keep Jacob forever but Jacob
would not settle for someone else’s dream. He would
not allow his employer to mark out a terrible boundary
around his destiny. With an increasingly big capacity,
the capacity of someone who is covenant-minded, he
rebelled against his present status and made the move
for the next level even though it was risky. And by that
one move, he eventually became the rightful owner of
his employer’s goods.
There is a major shaking happening in the world’s
economy and it is for the benefit of the children of
God, this is the time to position yourself for it. The
question is: How far can you see? As long as you keep
seeing only the people behind you, and not people
ahead of you, you will not be able to accommodate
the great increase God wants to bring into your life.
Are you ready for your next level? I feel something
good is about to break loose over you which is
bigger than what you have ever seen before, but you
68
No More Toil
have to position yourself for it. Enough of servant
or borrower mentality, and smallness of the mind!
Grow the capacity of your mind by meditating on
the promises of God and associating with people
of developed minds. Read the Bible and other great
materials that will open you up to the possibilities in
your world. Liberate the forces of God in your spirit
for great exploits as you take the limits off your mind.
The truth remains: If you can supply more jars, God
has more than enough to fill them up.
69
TCHAPTER 6
ABIDE IN GOD’S WILL
Have you ever met someone that does not
love rest? Something must be wrong with
such a person. Somehow, abnormality has
become normal. Such a person has been completely
taken over by toil. There is no rest for a toiler! Even if
he ends up taking a one-week vacation in a whole year,
he will be too tired to enjoy it. A man rising up early
and sitting up late as a constant routine all because
he wants to feed his family is not fulfilling God’s will
because God gives His beloved sleep!
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in
vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the
watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise
70
No More Toil
up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for
so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Psalm 127: 1-2
One of the ways, therefore, to exercise faith is to walk
in the will of God for us. It is an integral part of
the labor of faith that we have been called to do in
order to have His rest. The blessing manifests fully
when the will of God is embraced but it is hindered
when God’s will is rejected. This is the reason for the
struggles a lot of people are experiencing.
Finished Before You Began
We are living in a finished planet. You and I, like all
other creations of God, were finished long before
we came into existence in this world. There was a
purpose in the mind of God that he wants us to fulfill
now. Toil is not part of that plan because everything
needed to succeed in every phase of life was already
factored in. The tragedy is that a lot of people are
walking away from this original intention of God.
71
Chapter 6: Abide in God’s Will
Therefore, instead of them being celebrated, they
remain commoners.
Again, let’s take Adam and Eve as an example. The
Garden of Eden was a place God furnished and
finished for this couple. It was made suited for them.
They were not created for the garden; the garden
was created for them. They did not have to toil in
the garden; it was their garden, their place. Things
had to work for them because everything was created
for them. The ground was not hard, it was tender.
They were not involved in hard work. They were just
tending the garden. That was all the work required.
When they disobeyed, however, things changed.
Things became undesirable as the curse took its toll.
Why? The foundation of the Garden of Eden, which
was the will of God, had been tampered with.
Jesus, the second Adam, understood this when He
came to the earth. He made God’s will His priority.
He did not stay back at His father’s carpentry shop
72
No More Toil
unduly but showed up at River Jordan to be baptized
in water and by the Holy Spirit. He did not yield to
Satan’s temptations in the wilderness or opt out of
God’s will at the Garden of Gethsemane in order to
follow through God’s path for Him. He just would
have nothing to do with anything that would get Him
off His course. Jesus wasn’t jumping from one job to
another. He knew He had a calling, a life assignment,
and He told everyone that cared to listen that He
came to fulfill that calling. It wasn’t about Him. It was
about what had been designed for Him to implement.
Jesus knew His course – to showcase the kingdom
and die for humanity. He understood everything and
everyone would have to cooperate with Him. There
would have to be John the Baptist that would herald
His coming. There would be Peter, James, John
and the rest of the disciples that would follow Him
throughout His ministry on earth. Although one of
them, there would be Judas that would betray him.
There would be people that would minister to Him of
their substance in such a way that He would never lack.
73
Chapter 6: Abide in God’s Will
There would be many needs and problems that would
be translated to miracles. There would be religious
rulers that would be against Him and instigate Gentile
authorities to have Him crucified. Everything was
ready as far as Jesus kept Himself in the will of God.
Everything was finished before He came to the earth.
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it
is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Hebrews 10:7
A man’s Eden is God’s will for him. It is following
God’s original intention that makes every aspect of
a man’s life to become so beautiful. Greatness is tied
to the ability to recognize the plan and agenda of
God. When you line up with God, your star shines.
It may take a while for certain things to come into
manifestation in your life, but your faithfulness and
consistency will see you through. There is no way you
will walk with God faithfully and you will be put to
shame.
74
No More Toil
I studied Pharmacy in a reputable university. With all
due respect, Pharmacy is a high-flying profession and
I was already looking forward to a life as a Pharmacist.
I used to brag to my mates studying other courses
that there would be a job waiting for me after college
because of the high demand for pharmacists at a time
when the unemployment rate was very high. However,
in the middle of it all, I received a call into ministry
with a vision from God: “Raise Me a supernatural
army.” That was the turning point in my life as I had
to embrace the original intention of God for me.
Immediately, I started taking steps towards fulfilling
His will for me. I had to believe in that vision when
nobody did and when it seemed I was just wasting my
time. Today, I am qualified to write a book titled “No
More Toil”.
I have seen God’s faithfulness over the years. My land
is really producing – it is soft and tender. I have been
blessed beyond what any ambition of my own could
ever have fetched me, and this is just the beginning.
I am not struggling to make things happen and I am
75
Chapter 6: Abide in God’s Will
not moved by what is happening in the world. If they
say the dollar is coming down, it is only coming down
to my house. If they say prices of landed properties
are going up, it won’t be beyond me. Once it is God’s
will for me to have it now, I will have it no matter
how much it costs. I am an ambassador because I am
in His will. Ambassadors don’t suffer; rather they are
catered for. They are immune to the sufferings of the
land they live in. They are only subject to the laws of
their nation and the will of its ruler.
Yours may not be to start a ministry. It may be to stay
in your course of choice or to move into another line
of profession. Whatever it is, lay that good foundation
for the pursuit of God’s original intention for you.
Don’t settle for just anything. Make up your mind
that your life will not be in vain. Follow natural clues
like interest and passion, but most importantly, seek
God to find out what exactly He has ordained for you
while you are still faithful with what your hands find
to do. As soon as you get a direction, start taking steps
towards it. That is your work of faith in this regard.
Rest comes in the place of one’s assignment. Working
without involving the One that has finished it all
amounts to toil! People that got it right by aligning
their occupation or day-to-day tasks with God’s
original intention find themselves doing what comes
easy to them and end up making great returns on it.
But people that will not reckon with their gifts and
calling and are just about anything that comes their
way, set themselves up for average or low results.
The big picture of your work is to fulfill your God-
given assignment, and not toiling all over the place in
order to feed your family. Your family will be taken
care of much better when you are established in
God’s will. If you really desire a fruitful and fulfilling
life without toil, find out what God has designed you
for and get yourself engaged with it.

TCHAPTER 7
SOW FINANCIAL SEEDS
Why would someone want to struggle
for what grace has already achieved?
If indeed we are supernatural people,
then we must act accordingly. The victory has already
been won. We only need to maintain it.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:8
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4
78
No More Toil
That victory manifests by faith – simply believing and
acting out the Word of God. No More Toil is by faith.
You don’t sweat your way through the challenges of
life, you believe your way through them. People that
don’t realize this have had their miracles delayed for
so long, because they are not causing the miracle
to happen. This alone is enough toil, because hope
deferred makes the heart sick.
There is an act of faith that is very important for
total-life prosperity. That is sowing financial seeds
to produce financial and all other kinds of harvests.
The Bible is very particular about this. Many of the
parables of Jesus were to show the importance of this
principle of seed-time and harvest so that we may
become seed-conscious rather than need-conscious.
…so is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast
seed into the ground;
Mark 4:26
79
Chapter 7: Sow Finanial Seeds
Every farmer knows the place of a good seed.
Without the seeds put in the ground, there cannot
be any expectation whatsoever for a harvest, unless
the farmer is just deceiving himself. However, if he
plants and cultivates his seeds, he will naturally have
an assurance of a harvest. A harvest is much larger in
size than the seed. That means the farmer secures his
future by planting just a little out of his current stock
in the barn to bring back such returns that can fill the
whole barn. This multiplication is the power in a seed.
You have Seeds to Sow
One cheap lie the devil always loves to sell is that there
is nothing to give. And he wraps it around logical
thinking so much that one can easily take it for the
truth. The enemy says, “Well, you sure won’t mind
giving but you are still struggling to pay your bills; Boy,
you need to be excused.” The people that accept such
a lie are the ones that have been kept in a constant
state of hardship. Giving is not just a command of
God. It is a principle to ensure that you have more
80
No More Toil
than enough.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running over,
shall men give into your bosom. For with the same
measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you
again.
Luke 6: 38
A man that has seeds in the ground cannot be denied
for “while the earth remains, seed time and harvest
shall not cease.” Money, promotion, and the good
things of life only manifest as a harvest of a seed.
Therefore, whenever you want to make something
happen, just find a seed. Yes, you have a seed. Don’t
let the devil deceive you that you don’t have a seed. It
may be something little, something out of the little or
all that you have, give it in order to cause your miracle.
Elijah met with the widow of Zarephath with her last
meal. According to her, she and her child were to take
81
Chapter 7: Sow Finanial Seeds
that meal and afterward, die of starvation. That is
usually the end of toilers; dying in frustration. Suicide
cause exposed! However, the prophet asked her to
sow it as a seed. As a result of her obedience, she got
a harvest big enough to feed herself, her child and
the prophet in a time of no rain (1 Kings 17:8-16).
Another widow in the time of Jesus gave two mites
and she got instant recognition because while others
were giving out of their abundance, she gave all that
she had (Mark 12:41-44).
If everybody in need can understand this and act
in line with it! The time of need is not the time to
close your eyes to giving. It is the time to look for
opportunities to give out of the little you have so that
you can have enough to meet the need. Do it joyfully
because it is an act of faith. Cultivate your seed and
make it grow by confessing that your harvest comes.
While the people around you are crying over economic
situations, you are declaring your harvest. You are no
longer operating by the system of this world; you are
operating by the system of the Kingdom of God that
82
No More Toil
can never fail.
It does not matter how much suffering and hardship
exist in the world, your seeds will guarantee you a
great future. It will be for you a real fountain of wealth
running not on credit but by grace. It will create for
you your own money and assets. It will ensure that
your account does not read minus. Instead, it will be
reading plus and surplus. You will be celebrating over
your own money, not some borrowed money in your
account.
Your financial seed is not only capable of opening
financial doors for you. It can open any door. It can
open doors of healing, relationship, protection, long
life and salvation of loved ones. Most importantly, it
can preserve your destiny, making you walk in God’s
path and causing things and people you need to come
into your life in due time. You cannot afford to trade
this for whatever sense of lack you have right now.
The truth is that you are not really in lack because you
83
Chapter 7: Sow Finanial Seeds
have a seed. Sow that seed and believe God for your
harvest. The so-called lack, like all other afflictions,
is for a moment and is working for you an eternal
weight of glory. Where is the problem?
Give and as you give believe that God will cause
people to give unto you. Don’t eat your harvest in the
form of a seed right now. You will have no right to
demand for a harvest if you do so. This is a common
practice with people that toil through life. Their focus
is on consuming the little they have while they look
for more. However, it does not work that way. No
farmer reaps a harvest like that. Anyone that wants
to reap greatly in life must simply know how to cast
seeds into the ground.
85
TCHAPTER 8
BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR IDENTITY
There is an inheritance for you in God. Jesus’
death and resurrection has ensured that.
His victory over the enemy is your victory.
You are joint heirs of all that the Father owns with
Him. Life will be enjoyed and not endured once you
can see things from this perspective. Your needs are
not meant to be met by your natural income but by
your inheritance.
The purpose of work is not provision. Your real
provision is by inheritance. Remember, God told
Adam to tend the Garden. He also told him that there
were fruits already in the garden for him to eat. So,
there was work on one hand, and there was provision
86
No More Toil
on the other hand. What most people have done is to
bring the two together - connecting their livelihood
only to their jobs. How erroneous! Where is the place
of the inheritance as sons of the Father God, who
owns all things?
Assuming a man has a million dollars willed to him by
his father. On claiming that inheritance, he is not going
to drag his feet to one office the next day because he
wants to pay a bill. He most probably would resign
from that job and first take a long vacation visiting
the finest places in the world. Whatever financial
hardship he was facing, he now has the money to
fix it. If a man can have such an amount of money
bequeathed to him by another man and as a result
have his whole existence move to a much higher level,
how much more can we claim from God?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 7: 11
87
Chapter 8: Be Conscious of Your Identity
Servant Mentality
God the Father, who owns all things, has freely given
every good thing in life to us His children. That is
His will. We however need to know the Father and
understand how His system works before we can
enjoy the proceeds of this great inheritance. Not
understanding our position and standing as God’s
righteousness is a major reason why Christians lack
and suffer. This keeps the people of God as babies
and does not allow them to enter into their inheritance.
How much responsibility can one commit to a child?
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child,
differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of
all;
Galatians 4:1
A child continues to be treated like a servant until he
grows up. The growth here is not automatic – it does
not necessarily come by age. It comes by revelation
and insight into the Father’s love. No matter how
88
No More Toil
many years or decades a person has been a Christian,
if he will not grow up in understanding from a child
to a son, he is going to end up toiling. People have
remained children long enough that they don’t know
any better. As a result, they have built a servant
mentality.
A dividing line is drawn right there. Servants and sons
are not treated the same way. A son has intimacy with
his father and therefore walks in certain privileges
that the servant who is busy serving, without knowing
his right from his left, cannot walk in. Sons are bold
to take their inheritance while servants cannot see
themselves owning anything. Rather they are owned.
So, they take anything that comes to them; they don’t
have a say of their own.
Prodigal but Bold
The story about the prodigal son that Jesus told in
Luke 15: 11-32 really buttresses this. The difference
between the two sons of the rich man was in their
89
Chapter 8: Be Conscious of Your Identity
mentality. The younger son, though prodigal, had a
mentality of a son while the older one who was even
more faithful had a mentality of a servant. While the
younger son could approach the father to claim his
inheritance and still had the audacity to come back
home after he had squandered it all, the older one
could not even ask for anything and was angry to
see the fatted calf killed for a feast to celebrate his
brother’s return. His father’s soft but firm answer to his
displeasure conveys God the Father’s feelings towards
those that go about struggling in the kingdom.
…And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me,
and all that I have is thine.
Luke 15:31
Everything was His but his mind would not allow him
to enjoy. Toilers are indeed losers!
We have been made to think the moral of the story is
just not to be prodigal but I feel it has another great
90
No More Toil
lesson, which is: “Don’t be a servant when you ought
to be a son”.
Serving in God’s kingdom has its great benefits but
whatever benefits it has, they must be received by faith.
Faith comes by the understanding and revelation of
one’s identity in God. So, it is one thing to serve Him;
it is another thing to claim the benefits of serving
Him. The foundation of the son-father relationship
must first of all be there so that your service can make
meaning. In as much as God wants you to serve Him,
He is more interested in your relationship with Him.
It is that relationship that should move you to serve
Him. You are not supposed to be a servant in His
kingdom. You are supposed to be a son that chooses
to serve because of your love for your Father and His
Kingdom.
There is a way one can get busy with kingdom
activities and not have a kingdom mentality; serving
God for 25 or 35 years yet, still broke simply because
91
Chapter 8: Be Conscious of Your Identity
of a servant mentality! Some people with religious
mindsets even point accusing fingers at people who
are much younger in the faith but are accessing their
inheritance with proofs to show for it. They say things
like, “Those prosperity preachers are not teaching the
right thing. All they talk about is money.” Yet things
are so hard for some of them that their homes are
almost falling apart. By now such people should know
that something is fundamentally wrong with their
thinking.
The Father’s desire is that we rise up to take our
place as sons and come to the level of enjoyment and
fulfillment He wants for us. Toil is not in the picture
at all. In fact, by accessing our inheritance, we will
help others to deal with toil in their lives. This was
why the father of the prodigal son was full of joy
when he came back. He did not allow him to finish
his story before he asked them to clothe him with the
best clothing and commanded a feast. His summary
of the whole episode was:
92
No More Toil
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was
lost, and is found...
Luke 15:24
The son was lost and dead in toil but because he came
back to himself, catching an understanding of the
love of the father and as a result came back home, he
was delivered from toil. In other words, the boy said
to himself, “No More Toil!”
If everyone battling with one habit or the other can
just act the way this younger son did! If everyone
caught in the toil of sin, sickness or poverty can turn to
the Word of God having received a revelation therein;
the Father will heartily accept them as sons and make
them walk in the inheritance that is already theirs in
Christ. He will not cast anyone away. No! He wants
to restore everyone to his rightful place of a son. It
doesn’t matter how much time has been wasted. Note
that when the prodigal son came back to His Father’s
93
Chapter 8: Be Conscious of Your Identity
house, he took his place as a son, attracting the envy
of the older brother. Almost immediately, he was
already doing better than his brother.
I had an experience as a young Christian that was
quite similar to this. In my first year on campus, I used
to be among a Christian gathering that was feeding
on messages of religion and condemnation. At the
height of trying to do the right thing and falling
short, I decided to walk away from God. My sojourn
in the world which lasted eight months at that time
ended abruptly one day when I was asked to share
from the Bible at a birthday party of a friend. Those
days, because of a general respect for God that even
unbelieving youths had, such things were accepted as
the norm in most gatherings.
I tried to convince my friend that I had nothing to
share but he prevailed over me. Probably, there was
nobody that was saved amongst all of us. I felt this
was a set up. There I was, standing in front of people
94
No More Toil
to share the Word that I had shied away from for
eight months! To my greatest surprise, as I opened
my mouth to speak, the anointing came upon me and
I preached a message in that place that got everyone
arrested for the Lord, including me the preacher.
That night, I lay on the bed pleading with God to
forgive me of all my shortcomings, making a fresh
commitment to serve and obey Him. Days later, I
joined a church and quickly became a member of a unit
in that church. When I resumed back in school (this
preaching encounter happened during the holidays),
I was a different person entirely. People that knew
me as a bad boy the previous semester could notice a
change in me. I was on fire for God as I went ahead
to develop myself in the Word of God by reading
Christian literatures and teaching the revelation I
received to whoever cared to listen. I started walking
in the gifts of the Spirit and soon people were getting
blessed all around me.
95
Chapter 8: Be Conscious of Your Identity
The news soon got to the committee of elders of
this religious gathering that I first belonged to. To
my surprise, their reaction was that of scorn and
contempt. They acted exactly the same way the older
brother of the prodigal son acted. These men had
been born again for years but they could not walk in
the reality of the Gospel they claimed to be preaching.
They were unable to walk in their inheritance as sons.
They were acting like servants in the house of their
father.
A year later, God revealed to me my life vision, which
is to raise for Him a supernatural army. Some of them
that saw me start a fellowship to that effect said, “Let’s
watch him fall apart.” It’s been several years now, and
the work is growing and spreading across the nations.
While others were playing religion, my hunger was for
building intimacy with God and it is really paying off
now. The promises of God that I believed at that time
have since been producing results for me.
96
No More Toil
Are you just hanging around God? Do you really
know Him? It is only those that know Him that get
blessed. When you come into full expression as a son,
the fullness of God for you will be established. Do
away with religion. Grow out of spiritual babyhood
and position yourself for your inheritance. As long
as an heir remains a child, he is treated like a servant.
And the reality is, servants toil but sons enjoy the
inheritance.
97
TCHAPTER 9
LIVE THE BLESSED LIFE
As it has been established earlier, toil is not
God’s intention for man. It came along the
way when Adam sinned. God’s original
intention is that we walk in the blessing. Immediately
God created man, the blessing came into operation.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after
our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of
the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth…And God blessed them,
and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
98
No More Toil
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:26, 28
The blessing is the original package God gave to man.
The capacity for fruitfulness and dominion resides in
the blessing. Without the blessing, life will be hard
and difficult. Everything was designed to work by
the blessing. As far as our existence here on earth is
concerned, the blessing is everything!
When Adam sinned, the blessing was compromised
and what was the result? Toil! But thank God, Jesus
came to reverse that order.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one
that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that
we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:13-14
Now we have the blessing. But we need to walk in the
99
Chapter 9: Live the Blessed Life
blessing for it to really manifest for us. No Christian is
meant to live broke, have a broken home or have his
body riddled with diseases. Why? The blessing makes
whole. Even when there are challenges in these areas,
the blessing takes care of them. The power to prosper
ought to come into play and destroy the yoke and
remove the burden.
The problem is that a lot of Christians don’t know
what they have. They are so conscious of the curse
(that is no longer legally theirs) than of the blessing
(that is legally theirs). They throw the word “blessing”
around carelessly, in every little occurrence. “Bless
you, Sir” is not supposed to be a pious greeting or a
way of being polite when someone sneezes. No! It is
much weightier than that. It means to be empowered
to succeed, excel and prosper. When someone is said
to be blessed, it means he is empowered with some
kind of divine power or energy that positions him for
prosperity, success and excellence.
100
No More Toil
Why should one go through life therefore without
this empowerment? Why should one toil and struggle
when he can tap into the divine power for success?
And this power – the blessing – is available for
everyone, accessed and harnessed through the Word
and the Spirit of God. After you have made Jesus
the Lord of your life, this power comes to reside in
you. You only need to be conscious of it, and also
keep walking in the ways of God so that you will not
hinder its ability.
The reality of the blessing must hit your consciousness.
It must dominate it so much that you see everything
with the eye of the blessing. You should sleep and wake
up thinking the blessing. You should walk around your
house, go to your workplace and do your job with the
consciousness that you have been wired for success.
You are no longer cursed. Now, you are blessed. And
everywhere you are, you carry the atmosphere of the
blessing and people and things respond to you.
101
Chapter 9: Live the Blessed Life
This consciousness comes by meditating on the Word
of God about the blessing. You need to go on a journey
in the Word. Mark every scripture that talks about the
blessing; read and say them to yourself over and over.
See from scriptures the blessing working in the lives
of blessed men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph,
David, Daniel and Jesus. See it until you begin to see
life in a new light. Meditate – and keep on meditating
– until you are obsessed with thoughts of the blessing.
In the end, you will become a transformed person
with your mind totally renewed. You will come to that
point where you boldly say goodbye to manifestations
of toil. That would be the end of the devil trying to
destroy your destiny.
Choose the Blessing by Your Actions
Just as you are conscious of the blessing, you also
need to allow your actions to align with the blessing.
The blessing works based on the Word of God, and
actions that are contrary to the Word will hinder it
from working. There are things we do that will release
102
No More Toil
the blessing and there are things we do that will hinder
the blessing.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of
the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor
sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in
the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate
day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by
the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his
season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever
he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3
The blessed man does not play with sin in all its guises,
because sin compromises the blessing. He watches his
relationships and people he associates with. He is not
found in the company of fools, gossips or backbiters.
When people come to him and start talking against
men of God, he quickly changes the subject or leaves
the scene. When someone is manifesting an attitude
that does not go well with the blessing, he does not
103
Chapter 9: Live the Blessed Life
make that person his friend. He is all out to protect the
blessing because he knows the blessing is everything.
The next time your spouse says something you don’t
like, before you lash out, remember the blessing.
Though you don’t like what was said, you cannot
afford to be mad. If you have friends that are always
gossiping about other people’s lives, don’t hesitate
to send them out of your life. When you feel that
temptation to commit a sin, just remember that the
blessing is on the line. For your good, it must not be
compromised.
You love people and are good to others because you
respect the blessing. You forgive people when they
wrong you. You will not allow any strife to build
up where you are concerned because where there is
strife, toil will definitely show up. You develop an
anti-blessing detector where you easily pick things
that are not in line with the blessing and run from
them. You are smart by loving the blessing and doing
104
No More Toil
everything to protect it. By choosing the blessing, you
choose life.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and
cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live:
Deuteronomy 30:19
The blessing is a product of your choice. The decisions
we make either align us with the blessing or distract
us from it. Every day you are doing something for the
blessing or against it. It is not just in shouting, “I want
the blessing.” It is in the choices you make.
…therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may
live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and
that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest
cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of
thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the
LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac,
105
Chapter 9: Live the Blessed Life
and to Jacob, to give them.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20
Choose life by choosing the blessing. Nothing must
come in the way of the blessing. It is the root that
will produce all the fruits you desire in life: spouse,
children, cars, houses etc. It is the antidote for stress
and lack. It takes the blessing to live a toil free life as
God has designed. In your actions, always go for the
blessing.
Be smart! Act in line with the blessing and you won’t
have to work round the clock with nothing to show
for it. You will not be a beast of burden. Rather,
things will happen for you in their seasons. All that
you lay your hands upon will prosper. It does not

is prevalent in the society. The blessing will be your

the blessing in your life. Never fall for his distraction.
The blessing is everything. Choose the blessing; be
a blessed man in your attitude and conduct, and you
will not have to toil.

TCHAPTER 10
FALL IN LOVE WITH REST
In the book of Genesis, we are made to realize
that God rested from his works after the sixth
day. The commentary after the creation was
that everything He made was good. We are living in a
finished planet of which we are the best work of all
creatures. God finished the planet by making man and
He had to rest afterwards. Man was God’s motivation
to rest.
You have been called to live in a finished planet. This
call is not to hustle and struggle; it is unto rest like
God did when He created the planet. The whole Bible
from Genesis to Revelation supports this calling.
Jesus’ coming to the earth was because of your rest.
108
No More Toil
He was harassed, molested, crucified, raised from the
dead and is now seated in heaven because of your
rest.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he
was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our
peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:4-5
But the earth is still filled with people – God’s people
– overworking themselves every day and constantly
being stressed emotionally and mentally. They are still
trying to eke out a living when there is grace available
to rest in the revelation of the finished work of God.
They labor in vain.
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in
vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the
watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise
109
Chapter 10: Fall in Love with Rest
up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for
so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Psalm 127: 1-2
If you are God’s beloved, you have a right to sleep.
Rising up early and sitting up late and ending with a
bread of sorrow is vain. You should not live and work
in vain or drive to work and come back in vain. You
should not be thinking of retirement just because you
are tired. You ought not have nightmares every time
you close your eyes because you always have your
mind clouded. You need your sleep!
Rest means a state of refreshing, freedom from
exertion, cessation of activities, and freedom from
mental and emotional anxiety. It is a demonstration
of faith in God. That process of faith is interrupted
the moment worry and anxiety are introduced, and
rest is compromised as a result. By the definition
above, people that complain and grumble don’t rest.
Even when you are having spiritual exercises, you
110
No More Toil
must have them in rest. Praying without resting in
God’s promises is vain. Before, when and after you
have prayed, be careful for nothing. As you fast from
food, also fast from worry so that worry will not mess
up your fast from food.
In the Old Testament, God was trying to paint a
picture of rest for the people when He commanded
that they should work only for six days and reserve a
day for rest, called Sabbath. He was trying to paint a
picture of a lifestyle that really should not be once a
week affair but every day. It is a lifestyle that allows
you to work without stress attached to it because you
are resting in the promises of God.
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of
entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come
short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as
well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit
them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard
it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he
111
Chapter 10: Fall in Love with Rest
said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter
into my rest: although the works were finished from the
foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:1-3
It is Sabbath everyday for us. That does not mean
we do not work but we are not bent over because
of work. We don’t get into the worry mode because
we know there is a way out in every challenge. The
promises of God are there for us. In the Word, we
know we have a shepherd.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1
Check out the relationship between the sheep and
shepherd. A sheep does not worry about how and
where to go to get its daily fill because there is a
shepherd in front, guiding all the way. As long as it is
following the shepherd, it will be taken care of.
112
No More Toil
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth
me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he
leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s
sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with
me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalm 23:2-4
You have a shepherd. His name is Jesus. You should
rest in that. Never allow the feelings of unrest to set
in by thinking you are alone by yourself. Never say
you don’t know what to do. You have a shepherd who
cares for you and wants to fix you up. Even when you
don’t feel like anybody loves you, know you have a
shepherd. It is not your business to take care of you,
it is His business.
There are many testimonies about God’s faithfulness
to keep his own that you can hold on to. There are
many people that came from nothing to everything by
the help of God. If God did it for Joseph, He will do
113
Chapter 10: Fall in Love with Rest
it for you. If He did it for Moses, Joshua, David and
Daniel, He will do it for you.
Don’t always look at things externally; look at things
from your heart. In the natural, it seemed Joseph
was going down. But what happened at the end? His
lifting! This young man was excited through different
horrible stages of his life. In the pit, in Portiphar’s
house as a slave, in prison, he never allowed worry
to set in. While you are going through difficult times,
hold on to God’s promise and rest.
If your landlord is about to throw you out of the
house, make sure he is throwing you out into your
rest. It is not your life that is being thrown out - it
is just things. Gather those things and tell yourself,
“I am still resting.” When busybodies come to you
pointing out all the reasons you should be worried
about your life, shout your rest!
Don’t pick up projects of worry for yourself. That
114
No More Toil
is what some people do - acting like mad men in the
process, always angry with everyone. Before they were
engaged, they worried about how they were going to
get engaged. Then they got engaged, they worried how
the wedding was going to happen. They managed to
have the wedding; they started getting worried about
how they were going to get pregnant. When they got
pregnant, they were scared of the labor ward. Then,
they had the baby, they wondered how the child would
be raised properly and not turn out bad. The worry
went on and on: How their children would marry
right, how they would have their grand children. Such
people’s lives are defined by stress.
Your life must not be like that. You must know how
to enjoy the goodness of God. You must learn how to
cast your cares on God and enjoy the present despite
the troubles on your way to a brighter future. No bill
must be on your mind persistently. The truth is, Jesus
by His death and resurrection, has paid for that bill.
The blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross has
taken care of it. Just take a position of rest about it
115
Chapter 10: Fall in Love with Rest
once and for all. Refuse negative thoughts.
A Stress-free Life for the Kingdom
This rest will allow you to do the work of the kingdom
as your workplace becomes a ministry place. Because
you do not take thought for your life, you will be able
to seek the kingdom and its righteousness. If you are in
the medical profession, you have a great opportunity
to witness to patients. At such states, people are at the
lowest points of their lives and would be ready to listen
to anything you want to tell them, most importantly,
the gospel of Christ. Right there, slot Jesus in!
Don’t let anyone talk you out of being a witness for
Jesus at your workplace. You spend the most active
hours of your day in the office, so your workplace is
one of the best places to witness for God. If you can’t
be a witness for Jesus in your office, what are you
doing there laboring in vain?
People should come to the knowledge of the Lord
at your workplace because of you. That is why your
lifestyle must communicate Jesus. You must radiate
the joy of the Lord, not stress and hardship, not face
frowned and fists clenched. If you act this way, you
will be misrepresenting him. No matter how difficult
your job description is, no matter how wicked your
boss, if you are still meant to be in that office, do your
work with joy and excitement.
Fall in love with rest and hate everything about stress.
Always have sound sleep on your bed. Even if certain
expectations of life delayed, be at rest. Remember,
Moses started his ministry at the age of 80, Abraham
had his child at the age of 99. Lazarus had been dead
for four days, but Jesus declared that his case was not
unto death but unto life.
You are a miracle going somewhere. You are already
finished by God. Your end in God is sure. Don’t allow
anything to move you from your position of rest. Be
free from all form of toil by developing the good
habit of rest. No More Toil!
No More Toil

CHANGE FROM WITHIN
Due to the failing world system, there is a strong im-pression of struggle and suffering that has sunk deep into the minds and hearts of the majority – believers inclusive. But biblical truths completely differ: Toil is a result of the curse and is indicative of sin and lack of trust in the One who has freely promised and given.
By precepts and examples, the author in this book reveals the root of hardship and failure, and consoli-dates on why and how such are not to be our experi-ences as children of God. NO MORE TOIL is an echo of God’s Spirit calling His children into their inheritance.
Whatever the world calls it – global recession, eco-nomic collapse, depression or desperation – you can make the most of your life by plugging into God’s plan of prosperity for you, an agenda that clearly makes NO MORE TOIL not just an inspired teaching but a prophetic message to change one’s state from toil to fruitfulness. Here is transformation!
119
The Plan of Salvation
Ever since the fall of man, sin and death became the nature of every man. Hence, the need arose for man to be regenerated from the inside in order to recon-nect with God.
Jesus offered His life to pay the price of sin for man. He sacrificed His life to bring mankind back to His lost glory. Jesus has done His part by offering Himself as the sacrifice for your sin through His crucifixion.
Now you need to do your part by acknowledging what He did for you in His death and resurrection. Simply put, you need to be born again.
I encourage you to pray the following prayer in order to receive your salvation ...Heavenly Father; I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21). I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10. “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
