The Score

Somewhere in the middle of the ocean...

The memory of the storm is still vivid in your mind: the forks of lightning,

the colossal waves battering the hull, the ear-splitting sound of the ship

breaking apart, audible even over the roar of the sea and boom of the

thunder. Less clear is the memory of the plunge into the icy water, the

struggle to break the surface, to find something—anything—to cling to and

await rescue.

And now you find yourselves washed onto the shore of a tropical island,

with no idea if help is on it’s way. Are they even still searching for

survivors, or have they given you all up for dead?

Still, at least the worst is behind you, right?

Movie Night

Gilligan’s Island (TV), Lost (TV), Cast Away, The Swiss Family Robinson,

Robinson Crusoe, Lord of the Flies

Notes on Tone

When playing Fiasco, it can sometimes be helpful to decide beforehand with

your group on how serious a tone to set for the game. In this playset

particularly, there are a number of entries with a lighter, more slapstick feel

that may not be appropriate for a game aiming for a dark and gritty feel. On

the other hand, perhaps you appreciate the bizarre juxtaposition of

throwing Gilligan’s Island and Lost together in one melting pot.

In the case of preferring to retain a more serious atmosphere, the frivolous

elements have generally be assigned the lower values: for a darker game,

lean towards the higher numbers, on Locations and Items in particular.

Maybe even swap for the original Tilt table from the rulebook.

If you prefer a lighter game, go for low numbers, and perhaps opt for the

softer Aftermath presented in the Fiasco Companion.
