To solve the problem of spatial inequality and disparities in the development of the region.

To create overall development of its economic, political, physical, social, human capacity building etc by optimizing the location of economic activities within the region.

To create opportunities for the rehabilitation of the existing infrastructure and provide new ones where necessary in relation to the needs of different sub-regions.

To help bring about the advancement of place based development using the endogenous assets (resources) of different areas.

To engender a reduction in the existing back-wash/polarization effects amongst the rural, sub-urban and urban areas.

To help decision-makers provide relevant “control” agencies to conserve and protect environmental resources through the provision of planning data to raise platforms for the strengthening of the existing conservation institution in the region.

To optimally reduce rural-urban migration by creating minimum comfort and employment in the rural/sub-urban areas.

To revolutionalize the agricultural sector through mechanized farming, revitalization of agric advisory agency, and the creation of agro-research institute in the region.
