Tarea del verano:

All IB Spanish students are required to complete a summer assignment to help maintain your Spanish over the summer. You must complete assigned chapters before the first day of school.  Please do not wait, as it counts for a grade.

IB Spanish summer assignment

Please do not use translators for more than one or two words. You may not translate phrases or sentences, but only a word or a verb.  In doing so is in breach of the Academic Honesty Code and will be dealt in school. Eventually translating your work will affect your grade. Be honest and email me for any help! You may only use word reference.

1 st reading :

Throughout the year, we will read one book.  As the first semester tends to move quickly, I would you like you to start reading ahead of time, to be prepared for our first quarter. Do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions or problems.

2.  PRINT Student guide for Campos de Fresas. You must write responses only in this student guide. For your summaries use loose leaf paper.

For each number of chapters you will do the following:

Annotate: Annotate the book as you read (English and/or Spanish). Make sure you are marking the responses for each question in your book as we are doing a Socratic Seminar for an Interactive formal speaking grade and will help you tons.

3. You will receive graphic organizers to check for reading comprehension and to analyze characters IN CLASS.

4. NOTE: If for any given reason we do not finish the book in class your will get a set of comprehension questions to guide you through your reading to complete from home. Remaining chapters will be part of the midterm.

5. Character relation or description, answers to questions and summaries need to be in Spanish.
