Who are the target audience for the

magazine?• I think this magazine is aimed at men around about the

ages of 20 -30 though David Bowie is on the front cover

as the main feature so I don’t know if it has a older

audience to.

• I think this magazine will appeal to people who like rock,

alternative and indie music.

What is the house style of the magazine?

• The house style is normally using stencilled bold fonts for

important headings, bold think fonts of less important

headings and a smart straight fount for the bodies of text.

• The titles and sub titles are often in a different coloured

box to stand out and although each page might have

different colours on them the colours are the same for that

page.

What sections appear on the contents

page?• There are three columns that make up the contents page

the first holds the ‘Regulars’ e.g. things that appear in

every issue so fans of the magazine can look to stop their

favourite sections in the magazine.

• The second columns has ‘Features’ and these are things

exclusive to this issue of the magazine for example

posters and a feature on David Bowie.

• The third has a band list that shows all the bands and

artists featured in this issue of NME all in alphabetical

order with the page number/s you can find them on.

What is the cover feature?

• The cover feature is a

10 page article on

David Bowie on his life

and his top 40 tracks

according to this

magazine.

They had this picture on the cover of

the magazine.

How is the double page spread for the

cover feature formatted? Does it break

with the house style at all?• For the double page feature we have the title in a

rounded bold font which is very different from the

house style.

• The picture of the right hand page has a red back

ground also breaks away from the house style as

nowhere else in the magazine do they have a page

entirely dedicated to a picture (expect from the free

posters)

• The text is in a Calibri (Body) fount which is not the

same to the other block texts in the magazine.
