• Masthead – The masthead is in a classic NME style which is instantly recognizable to readers, and is a trademark of the magazine. The font style and size of the masthead will always stay the same on the front cover of the magazine.

• Flash – The flash on the front cover of the magazine stands out as it is in a red circle on top of the main image. The flash says ‘Pavement Reunion’ this would obviously be of interest to NME readers, and is on the front cover in a flash to make it stand out.

• Lead Article – The lead article is Dizzee Rascal and is in block capital white text to make it stand out. It also has some backdrop on it to make it stand out more and make it look a bit more three dimensional. By having backdrop on it, it also makes the text look like it is leaping off the page.

• Pull Quote – The pull quote says “ I’m spreading joy around the world, man” which gives us a warm and friendly impression of Dizzee Rascal, which is often portrayed in the media, so this pull quote seems to be backing up those impressions. It is a very main stream magazine which then gives us the impression of a very main stream Dizzee Rascal, compared to his underground reputation.

• Main Image – The main image is one of Dizzee Rascal gives us the impression of him being a very bubbly person, which has been portrayed in the media recently., as he looks as if he is going to jump off the front cover. He has his arms wide open in the image as if to invite us in and give us a hug. This again gives the impression of a very main stream Dizzee Rascal. In the background you can see graffiti on the walls as if to try and get back to his underground roots, but the bright colors of the graffiti give the opposite effect.

• Skyline – The skyline talks about an autumn tour special starring Kasabian, Maximo Park, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Muse. This would entice readers as they have just listed off four of the biggest UK bands at the moment. This also show us that NME readers like going to gigs, so this shows that the target audience may be for teenagers.
