With this edition we celebrate the first anniversary of “NJI

Magazine”.From the beginning God has supported us so that every edi-

tion could go out to our readers. This magazine reaches all of the church-

es that are under the covering of NJ International Ministries in the United

States and Canada. One of the achievements for this year was to put the

magazine on our website where everyone would have access to it there-

fore reaching an unlimited number of readers. The desire of our heart is

to reach you with a simple, practical message that will motivate you and

help you live the abundant life that Christ offers.

We begin a new year of conquest with a new a strong focus on the mis-

sions. We motivate you to join the army of God so that we can infiltrate

into the enemy’s camp and conquer the na-

tions for Christ.

We give thanks to those that have contributed by writing articles, those

who have shared their ideas with us, those who have helped with all of

the graphic arts and to our sponsors for their support. But above all, we

are so thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ to who is all glory and honor is

due.

Thank you Lord Jesus!

Con esta edición celebramos el primer aniversario de “NJI Magazine”.

Desde el comienzo Dios nos ha respaldado para que cada edición pudiera

salir a nuestros lectores. Esta revista llega a todas las iglesias que están

bajo la cobertura de Nueva Jerusalén Internacional en Estados Unidos y

Canadá. Uno de los logros durante este año fue poner la revista en nues-

tra página web donde todos sus usuarios tienen acceso a ella, llegando

así a un número ilimitado de lectores. El deseo de nuestro corazón es lle-

gar a ustedes con un mensaje simple y práctico que les motive

y les ayude a vivirla vida abundante que Cristo nos ofrece.

Comenzamos un nuevo año de conquista con un enfoque fuerte en la

misiones. Te exhortamos a que te unas al ejército de Dios para infiltrarnos

al campo del enemigo yconquistar las naciones

para Cristo.

Damos gracias a los que han contribuido con sus artículos, a los que an

compartido sus ideas con nosotros, a los que han colaborado con el arte

gráfico y a nuestros auspiciadores por su respaldo. Pero sobretodo, nue-

stro agradecimiento es para nuestro

Señor Jesucristo, para quien es toda honra y toda gloria.

Every soldier that is part of a nation’s army has to go

through an intense basic training. It is there where he

receives instruction and the necessary training to serve

his country and be able to act in case of a war.

Likewise, we as soldiers of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Tim.

2:3), must go through basic training. It is necessary that

we be trained to fight the battle of faith while remembe-

ring that our war is much different than the ones of this

world. We belong to an army of a kingdom that fights

with very powerful weapons for the destruction of spiri-

tual strongholds and we are lead by the King of Kings and

the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.

Todo soldado que forma parte del ejército de una nación

tiene que pasar por un entrenamiento básico intensivo.

Es ahí donde recibe las instrucciones y el entrenamiento

necesario para servir a su país y actuar en caso de guerra.

Así mismo nosotros, como soldados de Jesucristo que

somos (2 Tim.2:3), tenemos que tomar nuestro entrena-

miento básico. Es necesario que seamos entrenados a

pelear la batalla de la fe, recordando que nuestra guerra

es muy diferente a las guerras de este mundo.

Pertenecemos al ejército de un reino que pelea con

armas poderosas para la destrucción de fortalezas espi-

rituales y somos dirigidos por el Rey de Reyes y Señor de

Señores, Jesucristo.

In these times in which we are living we see how the hours, days and

months go by so quickly. We are already at the half way mark of the year

and we hear the saying, “it seems like yesterday that the year began”.

Everything is being done in a fast way and it seems as we are running

instead of walking.

Many times we begin our daily agenda with much energy and willing to

do many things, but by the end of the day we fall short of doing every-

thing that we set ourselves out to do. Then frustration and discourage-

ment set in. We have been so “busy” that we feel we work so hard but

nothing gets accomplished, that we walk but don’t reach a destination,

that we put all of our effort but have no results.

We see this situation happening in our personal lives, our families, our

jobs and even in the ministry. It is time to make a pause “Selah” to med-

itate and rest in the Lord. It is necessary for us to abandon ourselves in

the arms of our beloved Jesus and regain strength. Matthew 11:28 says

– “Come to Me all those who are labored and heavy burdened and I will

give you rest”. These are moments in which we need to receive a fresh

wind from the Holy Spirit that will help us hear the voice of God and fol-

low His direction.

Since the beginning of this year God has been speaking to our hearts

regarding the direction of the ministry which He has entrusted to us. He

made it clear to us that we needed to go back to the basics. This same

message has been given to many pastors and prophets in our nation. So

it is necessary to pay attention and listen to what the Spirit was to say to

His church.

In His message to the seven churches in Revelations chapters 2 & 3 the

Lord warns each one of them “If you have ears, hear what the Spirit is say-

ing to the churches”. Let us have receptive ears to hear the voice of God.

The Holy Spirit is calling our attention with the purpose of alleviating us

from many burdens and allowing us to focus on the right direction.

The life the Jesus Christ came to give us is a life of abundance. “The thief

does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come

that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” –

John 10:10”. This includes abundance of peace, abundance of love, abun-

dance of light, abundance of mercy and much more. He did not come to

complicate our lives, but on the contrary, He guides us to a more simple

life. We are the ones who complicate ourselves when we lose focus and

don’t take the necessary time to hear the voice of God.

Let us then make that PAUSE (SELAH) and go back to the basics in our

walk with Jesus Christ:

1. Spend quality time with God.

2. Worship Him in spirit and in truth.

3. Read, study and meditate on His Word.

4. Be doers of the Word.

5. Live a life of holiness.

6. Share with others the Good News of salvation.

7. Remain in communion with the body of Christ

(congregate).

8. Be faithful by being good stewards in His Kingdom.

9. Keep a sensible heart of the needs of our neighbor.

10. Maintain a good attitude of humbleness, submitting

and obedience.

leT’s go BacK To THe Basics!


En estos tiempos en que vivimos vemos como las horas, los días y los

meses pasan tan rápidamente. Ya estamos a mitad de este año y

escuchamos decir; “parece que fue ayer que comenzó el año”. Todo se

hace en manera apresurada y tal parece que estamos corriendo en lugar

de caminar.

Muchas veces comenzamos la agenda diaria con mucha energía y dis-

puestos a hacer tantas cosas, pero al finalizar el día nos hemos quedado

muy cortos de alcanzar lo que nos habíamos propuesto. Entonces llega a

nosotros la frustración y el desánimo. Hemos estado tan “ocupados” que

sentimos que laboramos pero nada se logra, que caminamos pero no

avanzamos, que nos esforzamos pero no vemos los resultados.

Esta situación la vemos ocurrir en nuestra vida personal, en nuestras

familias, nuestros trabajos y hasta en el ministerio. Es momento de hacer

un alto “Selah” para meditar y descansar en el Señor. Es necesario aban-

donarnos en los brazos de nuestro amado Jesús para recobrar fuerzas.

Mateo 11:28 nos dice –“ Venid a mí todos los que estáis trabajados y car-

gados, y yo os haré descansar”. Estos son momentos para recibir un vien-

to fresco del Espíritu Santo que nos ayuda a escuchar la voz de Dios y

seguir Su dirección.

Desde el comienzo de este año el Espíritu Santo ha estado hablando a

nuestros corazones con respecto a la dirección del ministerio que El nos

ha confiado. Nos ha indicado que es necesario regresar a lo básico. Este

mismo mensaje le ha sido dado a muchos pastores y profetas de esta

nación. Entonces es necesario prestar atención y escuchar lo que el

Espíritu quiere decir a Su iglesia.

En Su mensaje a las siete iglesias en Apocalipsis capítulos 2 &3 el Señor

les advierte a cada una de ellas: “El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu

dice a las iglesias”. Tengamos pues oídos receptivos a la voz de Dios. El

Espíritu Santo está llamando nuestra atención con el propósito de

aliviarnos de muchas cargas y de enfocar nuestra dirección.

La vida que Jesucristo nos vino a dar es una vida de abundancia. “El

ladrón no viene sino para hurtar y matar y destruir; yo he venido para que

tengan vida, y para que la tengan en abundancia.” - Juan 10:10. Esto

incluye abundancia de paz, abundancia de amor, abundancia de luz,

abundancia de misericordia y mucho mas. El no vino a complicar nuestras

vidas, todo lo contrario, El nos guía a una vida simple. Somos nosotros

quienes complicamos nuestra vida cuando nos desenfocamos y no

tomamos el tiempo necesario para escuchar la voz de Dios.

Hagamos pues ese ALTO (“SELAH”) y regresemos a lo básico en nuestro

caminar con Jesucristo:

1. Pasar tiempo de calidad con Dios

2. Adorarle en espíritu y verdad

3. Leer, estudiar y meditar en Su Palabra

4. Ser hacedores de Su Palabra

5. Vivir una vida en santidad

6. Compartir con otros las Buenas Nuevas de salvación

7. Mantenerse en comunión con el cuerpo de Cristo

(congregarse)

8. Ser fieles siendo buenos mayordomos en Su reino

9. Mantener corazones sensibles a las necesidades

del prójimo

10. Mantener una actitud de humildad,

sometimiento y obediencia

si todo puede ser tan sencillo…

nicaragUaComo ya muchos saben Dios ha confiado en nuestras

manos una misión, que consideramos una obra de amor,

en el país de Nicaragua. Desde nuestra primera visita a la

misión en el mes de febrero, nuestro corazón fue con-

movido a misericordia al ver la situación por la que nue-

stros hermanos estaban pasando. La misión está localiza-

da en una comunidad muy pobre que tiene una gran

necesidad tanto física como espiritual. Muchos proyectos

comenzaron a pasar por nuestra mente para ayudar la

misión y llegar a la comunidad donde se encuentra.

Regresamos a nuestras iglesia en Tampa y Winter Haven

con esta inquietud en nuestros corazones. Ambas iglesias

recibieron esta visión y ofrendaron generosamente para

esta obra. Con alegría en nuestros corazones hoy

podemos informarles que ya se terminó la construcción

de dos baños completos (que sustituyen la letrina que

tenían) y una pequeña cocina. Pronto se construirá la cis-

terna para facilitar agua a la iglesia. Al tener estas facili-

dades sanitarias se nos abre campo para comenzar un

comedor comunitario y un preescolar en un futuro cer-

cano. Entre los futuros proyectos está la construcción de

las aulas y levantar un fondo de becas para los estudios

universitarios de los jóvenes de nuestra misión.

nicaragUaAs many of you know, God has entrusted into our hands a

mission, which we consider a labor of love, in the country

of Nicaragua. Since we first visited the mission in the

month of February, our heart was moved to mercy as we

saw the situation that our fellow brethren found them-

selves in. The mission is located in a very poor communi-

ty that has great physical and spiritual needs. Many proj-

ects came to mind in order to help this mission and reach

the community in which it is found. We returned to our

churches in Tampa and Winter Haven with this burden

upon our hearts. Both churches received this vision and

generously gave towards this work. With joy in our hearts

we can inform you that the construction of a small kitchen

and two bathrooms (substituting the latrine they had) is

complete. Soon a cistern will be built that will help facili-

tate water to the church.Having these sanitary facilities

opens the way to begin a community lunchroom and a

preschool in the near future. Among future projects is the

construction of classrooms and raising scholarship funds

for the college education of the youth from our mission.

colomBiaA fin del mes de junio estuvimos viajando a Riohacha,

Colombia. Visitamos una iglesia que nos ha pedido

ayuda y cobertura. Tienen un ministerio de ayuda a

niños pobres. Debido a que esta edición fue a la

imprenta antes del viaje no podemos reportarle los

resultados de este viaje. Pero sin duda sabemos que Dios

se ha movido con todo poder y gloria. Ya le informare-

mos en la próxima edición.

colUmBiaColumbia: At the end of June we traveled to Riohacha,

Columbia. We visited a church that asked for our help and

our covering. They have a ministry that helps poor chil-

dren. Since this edition was printed before our trip, we

cannot report to you the results of that trip. But without

a doubt we know that God has moved with all His power

and glory. We will inform you in the next edition.



canaDáA principio de este año dos iglesias en la provincia de Ontario

pidieron ayuda y cobertura. Ambas iglesias están compuestas

por hermanos de diferentes nacionalidades primordialmente

de colombianos. Son gente muy linda y con corazones ham-

brientos por Dios y dispuestos a trabajar en Su obra. Ya

comenzamos los retiros “Encuentro con Jesús” en las dos

Iglesias. En el mes de abril ministramos los caballeros y en

mayo llevamos las damas. Muchas vidas recibieron a Jesús y

otras se reconciliaron. Recibieron sanidad, liberación y llenu-

ra del Espíritu Santo para vivir vidas en santidad sirviendo al

Señor. Los pastores Nils Campana y Ricardo Medina nos tes-

tifican que ambas congregaciones han sido transformadas.

Agradecemos a los pastores Robert Martínez de New York,

Tomy Carrasquillo de Boston, Douglas Barillas de Plant City y

al staff de NJI que nos acompañó a ministrar estas vidas.

canaDaAt the beginning of this year, two churches in the Province of

Ontario asked for our help and our covering. Both churches

are comprised of brethren of different nationalities, but

mainly Columbians. They are very beautiful people with

hearts hungry for God and a willingness to work for Him. We

have already begun the retreats “Encounters with Jesus” in

both churches. In the month of April, we ministered to the

men and in May we took the women. Many lives received

Jesus and others were reconciled. They received healing,

deliverance and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit so that they

can live their lives in holiness serving the Lord. Pastors Nils

Campana and Ricardo Medina have testified to us that their

congregations have been transformed. We appreciate

Pastors Robert Martinez from New York, Tomy Carrasquillo

from Boston, Douglas Barillas from Plant City and the staff of

NJI who accompanied us to minister to these lives.

Gracias por sus oraciones y su respaldo financiero. Si aun no

Desde principio de este año Dios comenzó a tratar con mi vida en cuan-

to al ministerio que nos ha confiado e instruirme a que regresara a lo

básico. Inmediatamente comencé a escuchar a muchos siervos de Dios

que es taban recibiendo la misma instrucción.

Esto trajo a mi mente mi entrenamiento básico en las fuerzas armadas de

los Estados Unidos. Aunque han pasado muchos años, lo recuerdo vívi-

damente. Fue una experiencia que marcó mi vida. Fue la primera vez que

estaba fuera de la casa de mis padres, de su cuidado y protección. Llegué

a un lugar desconocido para mí. Lo primero que hicieron fue entregarme

mi nueva vestimenta (el uniforme de soldado) y recortarme el pelo.

Inmediatamente me hicieron saber: “ le perteneces al ejército, somos tus

dueños, harás lo que te ordenemos”. Me despojaron de mi identidad

personal para darme la identidad de un soldado. Ya tendría que acos-

tarme, levantarme, bañarme y comer cuando ellos me lo indicaran. Mis

pensamientos y metas tendrían que ser los suyos, no los míos. No podía

salir del ejército cuando yo quisiera pues había firmado un contrato con

ellos. Aunque en esos momentos todo me pareció muy duro, al finalizar

de mi entrenamiento entendí que era para mi beneficio.

Me enseñaron las reglas a las que me tenía que someter, la petición de

mis superiores se constituía en orden para mi. El sometimiento era la ley

del día. El ejercicio físico formaba parte de mi rutina diaria con el

propósito de fortalecer mi cuerpo. Pero esto no sobrepasaba las horas en

el salón de clases recibiendo la instrucción que cambiaría mi manera de

pensar. Aprendí a utilizar las armas de guerra que estaban a mi disposi-

ción y estar dispuesto a dar mi vida por mi patria. Fui instruido a que en

caso de que el enemigo me atrapara tenía que buscar como escapar de

ellos. Verdaderamente hicieron de mi un sol dado preparado para la

guerra.

Hoy tú y yo pertenecemos al ejército de Cristo. Si para ser un soldado en

el ejército de nuestro país tenemos que pasar por un entrenamiento

básico tan riguroso, cuanto mas nosotros los que militamos en el ejérci-

to mas poderoso que existe sobre la faz de la tierra. Efesios 4:22-24 nos

dice: “En cuanto a la pasada manera de vivir, despojaos del viejo hombre,

que está viciado conforme a los deseos engañosos, y renovaos en el

espíritu de vuestra mente, y vestíos del nuevo hombre creado según Dios

en la justicia y santidad de la verdad.” Tiene que ocurrir un cambio de

mentalidad, de actitud y comportamiento.

Todo comienza con nuestros pensamientos. Es necesario eliminar de

nuestra vida los pensamientos y conceptos humanos para reemplazarlos

con los pensamientos, conceptos y principios del reino de Dios. Estos son

los que nos llevarán al destino que Dios tiene para nuestras vidas. Basta

ya de hacer lo que nos parezca, esto no nos conducirá a lograr los

propósitos de Dios para nuestras vidas y nuestros ministerios. El some-

timiento a Dios en todas las áreas de nuestra vida tiene que ser prioridad

para nosotros. Para esto es necesario conocer Su Palabra, dedicar tiem-

po a su lectura, estudio y meditación. Ella nos da las instrucciones y nos

prepara para la guerra. Muchos en el ejército de Cristo van a la “guerra”

sin entrenamiento y quedan a la merced del enemigo.

Efesios 6:10-17 nos habla de nuestra armadura como soldado de Cristo.

Esto incluye las armas de defensa contra Satanás y su ejército como tam-

bién el arma de ofensa mas poderosa que existe, la espada del Espíritu,

que es Su Palabra. Ella nos enseña a conocer a nuestro enemigo para

poder conquistarlo. No podemos olvidar el ayuno y la oración. Si a algo

le teme Satanás es a un ejército de rodillas.Este es el ejército que se

somete a Dios y busca Su dirección.

Hermanos, les exhorto a regresar a las bases, al fundamento de nuestra

fe. Así como el ejército mantiene a sus soldados en entrenamiento con-

stante, seamos nosotros soldados de Jesucristo que nos mantenemos en

constante entrenamiento para mantenernos

preparados para la conquista.



Since the beginning of this year God began to deal with my life regarding

the ministry that He has entrusted to us. He instructed me to go back to

the basics. Immediately I began to hear that many servants of the Lord

were receiving the same instruction.

This brought to my mind the basic training that I went through in the

armed forces of the United States. Although many years have gone by, I

still remember it vividly. It was an experience that marked my life. It was

the first time that I had been out of my parents’ house, from their care

and protection. I arrived at a very unfamiliar place. The first thing they

did was give me my new clothing attire (soldier’s uniform) and cut my

hair. Immediately following that they told me, “You now belong to the

army, we own you and you will do what we order you to do”. They took

away my personal identity and gave me a soldier one. My thoughts and

goals would have to be theirs and not mine. I could not leave the army

whenever I wanted because I had signed a contract with them. Although

at that particular time everything seemed so difficult, at the end of my

training I understood that it was all for my benefit.

They taught me the rules to which I had to submit to and that the

requests of my superiors were to be considered an order. To submit was

the law of the day. Physical exercise became a part of my daily routine

with the purpose of strengthening my body. But this did not exceed the

hours in the classroom receiving instruction that would change my way of

thinking. I learned how to use the weapons of war that were at my dis-

position and to be willing to give my life for my country. I was instructed

on how to escape if I was ever apprehended by the enemy.Truly they pre-

pared me as a soldier ready to go to war.Today you and I belong to God’s

army.

If in order to be a soldier in our country we have to go through a rigorous

basic training, then how much more us who belong to the most powerful

army on the face of the earth.Ephesians 4:22-24 tells us: “that you put

off,concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt

according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your

mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to

God, in true righteousness and holiness”.There has to be a change in

thinking, attitude and conduct.

Everything starts with our thoughts. It is necessary to eliminate from our

lives human thoughts and concepts and replace them with thought and

concepts from the Kingdom of God. This is what will take us to the des-

tiny that God has for our lives and our ministries. Submitting to God in

every area of our lives needs to be a priority for each of us. For this to

happen it is necessary that we know His Word, that we dedicate time to

read it, study it and meditate on it. The Word gives us instruction and

prepares us for war. Many in the army of the Lord go to “war” without

training and they fall at the mercy of the enemy.

Ephesians 6:10-17 speaks about our armor as a soldier of Christ. This

includes the weapons of defense against Satan and his army as well as the

most powerful weapon of offense that exists, the sword of the Holy Spirit,

which is His Word. It teaches us how to recognize and know our enemy

in order to be able to conquer him. We can not forget fasting and prayer.

If there is something that the enemy is afraid of is an army on their knees.

This is an army that is submitted to God and seeks His direction.

Brethren, I motivate you to go back to the basics, to the fundamentals of

our faith. Just like the army keeps heir soldiers in constant training, let us

be soldiers of Jesus Christ that maintain themselves in constant training

so that we can be prepared to conquer.



the midst of that battle, remember you are not alone. Greater is He

that is in you than he who is against you! We are not powerless. But

if we don’t cling to the cross and its power, we will become “prison-

ers of war.”

In his 1989 inaugural address to the country, President John F.

Kennedy said: “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your coun-

try can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow

citizens of the world, ask not what America can do for you, but what

together we can do for the freedom of man.” During that time, patri-

otism and love of country was evident. Nowadays, there are people

that enlist in the armed forces for the benefits and the money they

will receive from the government, not for the love of their country.

They enlist with the mentality of receiving and not serving. According

to Veteranstoday.com, one of the main reasons for desertion is “dis-

satisfaction with army life.”

In the Army of the Lord we also have deserters. People come to the

Lord with many situations and they accept Jesus because they are

told that He is the answer to any situation. They are ready to receive

all the blessings that God has promised. Praise God! God is good!

They are so excited to be Christians. But when they come to the real-

ization, that God’s timing is not our timing, that He expects us to

serve and not be served, all of sudden the excitement starts to deflate

and the dissatisfaction begins. And what’s in the heart starts to reveal

itself through comments like: “What do you mean the Pastor is not

going to answer every time I call him? I have to work where?

Children’s church? But I’ve been called to preach to the nations!

Tithes? Offering? Fasting and Praying? NO WAY!!! I’m out of here!”

These people desert their position in Christ and desert the benefits

they would have received from their service to the Lord and His peo-

ple.

In 2 Timothy 2:3 Paul told Timothy that he must endure hardship as a

good solider of Jesus Christ. If you are actively engaged in battle,

there is the risk of being wounded. Sometimes you can be wounded

by the enemy and sometimes it can be “friendly fire,” where you are

wounded by someone who is supposed to be on your side. The prob-

lem is not so much the wound, but the attitude we take after being

wounded. We can either succumb to the pain of our injury or we can

seek God’s healing power and get back into the battle and allow God

to use us to heal others. When we are hurt, we have to seek Jehovah

Rapha, our Healer. King David said in Psalm 30:2-3 “O LORD my God,

I cried unto Thee, and Thou hast healed me. O LORD, Thou hast

According to Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, Missing in Action

(M.I.A.) means “a status assigned to armed services personnel who

are reported missing during active service. They may have been

killed, wounded, become a prisoner of war, or deserted.”

As Our Lord Jesus Christ and Commander-in-Chief looks down upon

His church, does He see an army actively engaged in battle or are the

battle stations empty and deserted because His people are M.I.A.?

Has anybody ever asked you, “Hey, where have you been, I haven’t

seen you in church lately,” and you quickly think of a lie because you

have no excuse? Or perhaps you are constantly asked, “Are you okay,”

and you find yourself responding “I’m okay,” without even thinking

about it and you are far from okay.

When you come to church, do your thoughts constantly wander to

your situations? Has serving Jesus and His people become a burden-

some routine more than a passionate burden? Do you leave the serv-

ice criticizing more than glorifying? Have you just basically given up

on God?

If you have answered yes to ANY of these questions, wake up!!!! You

are MISSING IN ACTION!!

Galatians 5: 1 gives us a warning: “Stand fast

therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ

hath made us free, and be not entangled

again with the yoke of bondage.” Our

freedom from sin and from Satan is

attained only through JesusChrist.

Daily we have

to make a

choice to

pick up our

cross and walk. We have to

chose to die daily to self and

live for God. “No man that

warreth entangleth himself

with the affairs of this life;

that he may please him who

hath chosen him to be a

soldier. 2 Timothy 2:4

rages within us seems over-

whelming and we have to

chose to live for God every

second of that day. But in

Cuando nuestro Señor Jesucristo mira a Su iglesia, ¿verá El un ejérci-

to activo en batalla, o verá las puestos de batalla vacíos y abandona-

dos porque su gente está perdida en acción (M.I.A.)?

Gálatas 5:1 dice: “Estad, pues, firmes en la libertad con que Cristo

nos hizo libres, y no estéis otra vez sujetos al yugo de esclavitud.”

Obtenemos nuestra libertad solamente a través de Jesucristo.

Diariamente tenemos que tomar la decisión de morir a nuestro “yo”

y vivir para Cristo. “Ninguno que milita se enreda en los negocios de

la vida, a fin de agradar a aquel que lo tomó por soldado.” 2 Timoteo

2:4

A veces la batalla que se levanta dentro de nosotros parece demasia-

do abrumadoras y nosotros tenemos que elegir vivir para Dios cada

segundo de ese día. Pero en el medio de esa batalla, recuerda que no

estás solo. ¡Mayor es El que está en usted que aquél que esta contra

usted! No somos impotentes. Pero si no nos aferramos a la cruz y su

poder, nos convertiremos en “prisioneros de guerra.”

En su discurso de inauguración en 1961, el presidente John F.

Kennedy dijo: “Por lo tanto, mis compatriotas: no pregunte lo que su

país puede hacer para usted, pregunte lo que usted puede hacer para

su país.” Durante ese tiempo el patriotismo era evidente. Hoy en día,

hay gente que se enlista en las fuerzas armadas por los beneficios que

recibirán, no por el amor a su país. Se enlistan con la mentalidad

recibir y de no servir. Debido a esta mentalidad, se descontentan con

vida del ejército y abandonan su puesto.

El cuerpo de Cristo también tiene desertores. La gente acepta a Jesús

como su Señor y quieren que Dios les resuelva sus todas sus situa-

ciones inmediatamente. Pero cuando realizan que el tiempo de Dios

no es necesariamente nuestro tiempo, que El espera que sirvamos y

que no seamos servidos, el entusiasmo comienza a desinflarse y

surge el descontento. Esta gente abandona su posición en Cristo y los

beneficios que habrían recibido de su servicio al Señor y a su gente.

2 Timoteo 2:3 dice que debemos aguantar dificultad como buenos

soldados de Jesucristo. Si estás activo en la batalla, existe el riesgo de

ser herido. Podemos ser heridos por el enemigo o por el “fuego amis-

toso.” Es ahí que tenemos que tomar la decisión: sucumbir al dolor de

nuestra lesión o buscar el poder sanador de Dios y regresar nueva-

mente a la batalla. Salmo 30:2 - 3 dice: “Jehová Dios mío, A ti clamé,

y me sanaste. Oh Jehová, hiciste subir mi alma del Seol; Me diste vida,

para que no descendiese a la sepultura.”

Si no buscamos a Dios cuando estamos heridos o encadenados, nos

convertiremos en víctimas de la guerra. ¡Nos matarán! Nuestro grito

de guerra debe ser el Salmo 27:1-3; “Jehová es mi luz y mi salvación;

¿de quién temeré? Jehová es la fortaleza de mi vida; ¿de quién he de

atemorizarme? Cuando se juntaron contra mí los malignos, mis

angustiadores y mis enemigos, Para comer mis carnes, ellos

tropezaron y cayeron. Aunque un ejército acampe contra mí, No

temerá mi corazón; Aunque contra mí se levante guerra, Yo estaré

confiado”.

¡Hemos sido creados para ser vencedores y no víctimas! Así es que si

has estado perdido en acción (M.I.A.), regresa a tu puesto de batalla

y prepárate para la VICTORIA!

If we don’t seek God when we are wounded, if we don’t cry out to

Him for freedom when we are bound, we are in great danger. We will

become casualties of war. We will be killed! But before we die spir-

itually, there are always warning signs. It doesn’t happen overnight.

It could be that we slowly let down our shield of faith in the midst of

situations. Perhaps our sword, which is the Spirit of God, has become

dull because we have not sharpened it through fasting and prayer.

We don’t praise and worship God with thanksgiving like we used to.

We no longer serve with passion.

In order to become decorated veterans in the Army of the Lord of

Hosts, we must understand that the “sufferings of this present time

are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed

in us.” Romans 8:18 Your motto in time of battle should be Psalm

27:1-3 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The

LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the

wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my

flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an army should encamp against

me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, even

in this will I be confident.”

We have been created to be victors and not victims! We are more

than conquerors! So if you have been M.I.A., get back to your battle

station and prepare for VICTORY!

El arma mas poderosa que tiene el soldado de Cristo es la Palabra de Dios.

Fue el poder de Su Palabra la que nos atrajo y por ella nos enlistamos en

Su ejército. Es ella la que alumbra nuestro caminar diario. Recuerdo nue-

stros primeros pasos en el evangelio, todo era nuevo para nosotros.

Muchas veces leíamos la Biblia y aunque no lo entendíamos todo queda-

ba en nosotros un hambre de conocer mas y mas. Poco a poco fuimos

descubriendo los tesoros que en ella se encuentran. Hoy entendemos el

valor de ser instruidos y capacitados en Su Poderosa Palabra.

Es nuestro deseo ser instrumentos para enseñar y capacitar el ejército de

Dios en todos los niveles. Hemos visto como Dios ha hecho realidad Sus

promesas a nuestro ministerio. Hace 13 años, New Jerusalem Christian

Academy abrió sus puertas para instruir a nuestros niños con una

enseñanza de excelencia basada en principios bíblicos. Este año

acabamos de comenzar instrucción a nivel universitario para capacitar

hombres y mujeres con llamado para el ministerio. Estamos certificados

The most powerful weapon that a soldier of Christ has is the Word of

God. It was the power of His Word that attracted us and by it we enlist-

ed in His army. It is the Word of God that lights our daily walk. I remem-

ber our first steps in the gospel, everything was new for us. Many times

we read the Bible and although we didn’t understand it all, there was a

hunger that remained in us of wanting to know more and more. Little by

little we began to discover the treasures that are found in it. Today we

understand the value of being instructed and equipped in His Powerful

Word.

It is our desire to be used as instruments to teach and equip the army of

God at all levels. We have seen how God has made His promises a reali-

ty in our ministry. Thirteen years ago New Jerusalem Christian Academy

opened its doors to instruct our children with excellent teaching based on

Biblical principles. This year we began giving instruction at a university

level in order to equip men and women that have a calling in the ministry.

We are certified as the Bilingual Campus for Life Christian University in

Tampa,Florida.
