«If you’ve been wondering about the state of young, contempora-ry European jazz talent recently, look no further - and enjoy!»British Jazz Journal

«Nils Wogram is at a point of his career where he is no match formodels. He is his own reference.»Jazzthing
NILS WOGRAM SEPTET
Claudio Puntin, ClarinetTilman Ehrhorn, TenorsaxStephan Meinberg, TrumpetSteffen Schorn, BassclarinetFrank Speer, AltosaxJohn Schröder, DrumsNils Wogram, Trombone
Nils Wograms largest band. It features his compositional andarranging concepts. This septet unites some of the best andunique german improvisers and instrumentalists. Nils Wo-gram`s compositions are well shaped with long composed secti-ons but also leave much space for improvisations. Through theunordenary setup without bass and harmonie instruments.The sound is very transparent and traditional rollmodels arebeeing mixed in different new ways.This septet sometimes reminds of the warm of Gil Evans aswell as the wild energy of the late Charles Mingus. Other mu-sical influences like balkan folk filmmusic and new composedmusic can be found, too.
«With this ensemble the composer gets astonishing colours:seductive blending-sounds, ellingtonesque jungle sounds and over-all touching sensuality. That is powerful and intelligent. It rootsin the jazztradition but is free of sentimentality.» Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

NABATOV – WOGRAM / DUO
Simon Nabatov, PianoNils Wogram, Trombone
Nils Wograms smallets and most eclectic band. It brings toget-her two musicians who`s roots are equaly in composed andimprovised music. Nabatov and Wogram seem to have no styli-stic, compositional and technical limits. Their wide musicalhorizon enables them to merge various musical styles. Witheasiness and a sence of humor one can feel an enormous joyof playing. The surprising musical changes require the listernsattention constantly. Like this the music grows to a brilliantlistening expirience.
«A breathtaking duo» Aachener Zeitung
«This album lives of contrasting moments witch`s contents can`tbe brought down to a common denominator. It can be nostalgicand old fashioned but in the next second minimalistic and intro-verted and the duo feed each other lines.» Jazzthetik {about «theMove»}
