The Mo-BRUK company has been operating on the Polish market since 1985. Its headquarters is located in Korzenna near Nowy Sącz. The company started as a manufacturer of terrazzo goods and gradually extended its scope of activities to include production of cargo concrete and construction of concrete roads and yards. Since 1996 Mo-BRUK has been operating in the area of hazardous and other than hazardous industrial waste management. The Company operates on the basis of a number of permits for collection, recovery and recycling of waste.

Sortiva processes waste from private individuals, businesses and local authorities for reuse. By doing so in an environmentally aware way, we are helping to create a sustainable society. Recycling gives waste materials like scrap wood, asphalt, rubble, plastic and paper a new lease of life as raw materials, building materials or fuel. Sortiva was set up in 1998 as a subsidiary of HVC and GP Groot. To begin with, Sortiva was involved in processing bulky household waste. In 2005 the two parent companies brought together all their recycling activities in Sortiva. They process and sort waste streams including rubble, wood, garden waste, paper and plastic. Reducing the waste sent to landfill in Leicestershire: The ‘Project Oak’ facility was commissioned by New Earth Solutions on behalf of Leicestershire County Council to take, sort and compost non segregated ‘black bag’ waste and so reduce the quantity of waste having to be sent to landfill. The project comprised the construction of a 50,000 tonnes MSW composting plant with front end sorting facility.

Surovina (part of Gorenje Group) in Maribor is SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) plant for treating Commercial & Industrial (C&I) waste into an alternative fuel with excelling caloric value and chemical and physical features.

Recovery of waste in Southern Finland will become more efficient as Lassila & Tikanoja (L&T) modernises its recycling plant in Kerava. At the plant, trade and industry waste and by-products are processed into secondary raw materials in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The first stage of the investment project will see the completion of a production plant for biofuels in the spring of 2010. Thanks to the renewed process, raw materials can be processed into biofuels of increased purity. For instance, recycled wood in the waste stream can be utilised more efficiently than before as pure bioenergy, or could be designated for use as a secondary raw material. After the work is completed, Kerava will have one of Europe’s most environmentally friendly and modern plants, where as much as 90 per cent of waste materials will be directed for reuse”.

ICOPOWER is de enige particuliere installatie voor productie van brandstofpellets uit bedrijfsafval in Nederland. ICOPOWER is een zelfstandige B.V. die onderdeel uitmaakt van de ICOVA-group (Shanks) Met behulp van de ICOPOWER-installatie worden afvalstoffen (voornamelijk handel, diensten en overhedenafval en daarmee vergelijkbaar industrieel afval) en rest-producten opgewerkt. Door een mechanische scheiding van de hoog calorische fractie uit de afvalstroom wordt een (secundaire) energiedrager met nauwkeurig gespecificeerde verbrandings-karakteristieken geproduceerd. The UTE ‘La Paloma’ plant was started in 2008. They treat 220.000 t/a of waste. Besides Material classification, Anarobic Digestion, and Composting, they do Packaging classification (38.000 t/a). Here two Nihot Windshifters are installed on the 3D (rolling/heavy) fraction from two ballistic separators to remove LDPE (film). The remainder goes to a Optical Sorter for further processing.
