"For me, the point of this collection is that almost every piece can morph from one room to another. One can use the bedside tables beside sofas, the chairs in any part of the house, sideboards in halls or landings. They were all inspired by various pieces in my own country house, where I constantly shuffle them from room to room, or by things I have seen and yearned to own. “During several decades designing interiors, I’ve constantly kept a keen eye open for that unique piece of furniture, or indeed object, that gives a room ‘oomph’, and delights the onlooker. The Nicky Haslam for OKA collection is the cream of many years' crops, and its distillation has exactly the style, appeal and look I believe will enhance any interior.”

When we approached world-renowned interior designer Nicky Haslam with the idea for this collaboration, over a year ago now, we knew that it would result in something very special.
The combination of Nicky’s eye and his wealth of experience gained over many years of designing interiors, together with OKA’s ability to create beautiful, hand-finished pieces of the highest quality, has resulted in a unique and irresistible collection.

The Hallway“I like to treat halls , large or small,
as a prelude to the rooms that follow, and bring a touch of what’s coming next
into them with books and interestingly shaded lamps, flowers and of course
dogs’ paraphernalia. A gutsy, stone-coloured pedestal table, brings a hint of the outside into the room, and a
couple of linear-line chairs , with squabs or not, are great for pulling off boots or
dumping shopping.”

The S itt ing Room“More intimate rooms, where relaxation is paramount, always seem bigger with over-scale furniture. The trick
here is to make the eye register the foreground. Neutral (but not bland) walls silhouette the shape of the sofa with
its ‘apron’ skirt, any severity relieved by playful cushions tasseled in silver. A many-sided ottoman can be shoved into
any position, up to the sofa for tired feet, in the centre of the room for a welcome drinks tray or to the side for extra
seating at a party.”
