history We trace our beginnings back to November 29, 2004 when Mr. Inhan

Kim, the general manager, opened a language academy for Korean

nationals. His initial plan, together with other incorporators, was to

offer English as a Second Language program for Koreans who would

visit the Philippines during their winter and summer vacation.

However, some parents would continually pose queries regarding their

children’s formal education here in the Philippines. This gave Mr. Kim

an idea to expand the scope of the business and include a tutorial and

a review program for students studying in regular schools in the

Philippines. Since the opening, our institution has quickly earned

reputation in the Korean community as being a reliable provider of

tutoring. To date, we have served nearly 700 students. And we take

great pride in having 90% University/College Admission Test passers

every year.

How are you doing? You won’t believe the fun we’re having here

in the Philippines! Did you know that it is the third largest

English speaking country in the world? In fact, the country has a

rich history influenced by Asian, European, and American

culture.

Manila, the capital, is the home of an ancient walled city, the

beautiful Manila Bay, and some of Asia’s most modern and

biggest shopping malls! Other scenic places like Tagaytay are

just a couple of hours drive from the capital. Cebu and Palawan,

known for their beautiful shores, are only a quick plane ride

away.

The people are friendly, and the warm, tropical weather is just

perfect. It’s definitely more fun in the Philippines!

The Philippines is not far from Korea. In fact, it is only 3—4

hours away by plane.

The Philippines also has a low cost of living. It is very

affordable to stay or even live here.

English is widely spoken in the Philippines. Apart from

being used as the business language, English is also used

as the medium of instruction in schools and universities.

Actually, 93.5% of Filipinos can speak and understand

English well!

Founded in 2004, Nice Academy is one of the pioneer English institutions

for Koreans in the Philippines. It is motivated by its pursuit for excellence

in both academic and English as a Second Language education. Within a

short period of time, we developed a good credibility and partnership with

the schools around the metro. This partnership paves the way for Koreans

to enter such institutions and the competent English speakers and

learners that they are today.

We put a great effort to provide personalized lessons to our students.

They are guided and molded at a pace that they can learn properly and

thoroughly. Books, handouts and online learning materials are readily

accessible. Each learner is guided by a group of versatile and educated

individuals who graduated from different prestigious universities and

colleges. Our teachers are armed with rich academic background and

learning experiences.

Our commitment to academic excellence prepares our students to be

locally and internationally competitive in their school life. So far, we have

produced around a hundred college and university exam passers. Most of

them were admitted to prestigious universities like Ateneo de Manila

University, De La Salle University, and University of Sto. Tomas.

We promise to improve further and provide a much better tutorial

program to our students because their success is also ours.

Through the years, I’ve seen the commitment of NICE Academy in helping

individuals achieve a brighter future whether through preparation for higher

education or for studies in Canada, United States, Australia, etc. Our

dedication to greater excellence is manifested on how the teaching

materials and teachers’ competence have evolved. Our teachers undergo

training constantly to enhance their competitiveness and basic knowledge in

handling different subjects and different students’ personalities. And in the

near future, we are going to publish our Science, Mathematics, and English

modules to be of assistance to other Korean tutorials here in the Philippines.

The journey for NICE may be tough, but still we are standing. Though a lot

of Korean academies mushroom in Metro Manila, we are pleased to inform

you that we have reached our eighth year of operation. This is because we

hold on in our commitment to serve not only Korean Nationals but also

Filipinos. We endeavor to deliver the best Academic Tutorials, Review

Programs, and English as a Second Language Programs. And though owned

by a Korean, NICE continuously lends a hand to Filipinos by offering jobs

and participating in outreach programs for the benefit of the students in

public schools.

Here at NICE Academy, we are one in presenting our institute. With this

Southville International School and Colleges

childhood education, primary school, secondary school, and college

education. SISC is an authorized "IB World School" and is able to grant

IB diplomas. The school operates an International Learning Center, or

(Beginner to Advanced Level)

Electronic dictionary no more! The student develops the habit

of using context clues and analyzing sentences to passages.

This program also aims to increase the reading speed and

accuracy of the student .

The Academy offers personalized one-on-one lessons for ESL

Grammar and Writing


The student acquires an in-depth understanding of the

different parts of speech which he or she can use in

developing meaningful sentences. Skills in academic writing

are also enhanced.

The student is trained in giving his opinion on different

The student is given a complete experience of the English

College Admission Test (CAT)

The student gets a refresher on the core subjects included in

college entrance examinations. Numerous customized

simulation tests are given depending on the university or

college preference of the student. CAT classes are often

conducted in groups of around four students.

The Ateneo is a private teaching and research university. Its Business Admin-

istration course and many others are recognized as Centers of Excellence.

De La Salle University College Assessment Test (DLSU-CAT)

DLSU believes in the development of leadership through a liberal Christian

education. It is recognized for its superb IT, Biology and Business courses.

College Entrance Examination (CEE)

UA&P is a private, non-profitable institution of higher learning that offers

some of the most outstanding academic programs in Asia.

Air Link offers Bachelor of Science in Aviation as well as an array of other

aviation related courses, including Private Pilot Courses and Commercial Pilot

Known as the Philippines’ Pontifical and Catholic University, UST is also one of

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

The students learn the techniques and skills in answering

questions found in TOEFL. The lessons focus on the four

categories: reading, writing, listening, and writing. Realistic

simulation examinations are provided.

Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

The student learns the method and ability in answering

questions found in the TOEIC examination. The tests in

TOEIC are focused in developing pronunciation, vocabulary,

grammar, fluency, overall coherence and organization.

Almost real simulation assessments are made available for

the student’s TOEIC review.

English Language Proficiency for Aviation (ICAO)

The student is acquainted with different aviation

terminologies and exchanges. Simulation examinations are

provided.
