Page #1
IntroductionSurvey Objective:
The Employer One Survey is the result of an extensive joint effort to provide communities in the Niagara region, served by theNiagara Workforce Planning Board, valuable insights into the demand-side of the area’s labour market.
It is designed to collect information annually from the employers on a range of labour issues, such as labour turnover, hard-to-fillpositions, recruitment difficulties, current and future skills shortages, as well as any issues in training and education practices.
Filling in the Employer One Survey:
Your business may receive Employer One from more than one source, but the survey should only be completed once. You decidewho is the most appropriate person in your business or organization to complete it.
Once you start the survey, you have the option to complete it in stages. To do so, hit the Save and Continue Later button at thebottom of each page. Remember to send yourself the link to conveniently return to where you left off in the survey. Also, you havethe option to print your responses at any point during the survey, by clicking on either the PDF or Word symbol at the bottom of eachpage.
Confidentiality:
The survey has been designed to protect your identity. All answers given will be treated in strict confidence and they will be used forstatistical purposes and published in aggregate form only.
Only the aggregate information will be shared with Employer One partners, who have each signed an agreement on use of the data.

What is your total number of employees?______________________
Of the total number of people you employ, how many are in the following age groups and categories? The following question helps us in several ways:It gives a count of the number of people you employ in total, which not only tells us the size of your organization--an important factorin determining workforce patterns--but it also gives us the ability to broadly measure employment growth and decline in your sectorand location annually. It allows us to monitor patterns in employment status, which has become an increasingly importantmeasurement as businesses and organizations in general are clearly facing new longterm labour-cost pressures and realities. As theboomer population has begun moving into retirement, and will continue to do so over the next two decades, the answers to thisquestion will allow us to more accurately identify the demographic shifts and patterns by sector and location in our economic region.
