Purpose
The Sr. Teresa Trayers, SND Chapter of the National Honor Society at Bishop Stang High School exists to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in pupils of Bishop Stang High School.
Our Name
Our chapter is named after Sr. Teresa Trayers, SND, the last Sister of Notre Dame to staff our school. Sister served our school for 24 years until her retirement in 1998.
What do we do?
The National Honor Society is primarily a service organization.
Each chapter and each member is responsible for completing a service requirement.

Awards
Everett Masters Award
This award, granted by the NHS State Committee, was given to our advisor, Mr. Medeiros. It honors his longstanding efforts on the part of NHS members and the work he had done in assisting local Catholic schools to create or resurrect NJHS chapters.
Students for a Hunger Free America Award
For two years in a row, our chapter was honored by the Feinstein Center to End Hunger in America for having one of the top fifty food drives in the country.
Each time, we were awarded $1,000 by the center for our efforts.
NHS Student of the Year Award
For the first time in the spring of 2005 one of our members was selected as the NHS Student of the Year by the Massachusetts NHS State Committee
In the spring of 2008, one of our members was named as South Region winner for the state
