EXTRA CREDIT PROJECT 1 -‐ Natural History Museum Scavenger Hunt
Exhibit – Becoming Los Angeles (on the 1st floor)
Background: This 14,000-‐square-‐foot masterpiece is the largest in the Museum. It tells the stories in six major sections: Los Angeles and the region at the time of Spanish contact; the Spanish Mission Era; the Mexican Rancho Era; the early American period; the emergence of a new American city in the late 19th and early 20th centuries; the Great Depression and World War II, to the present.
1. Take a picture of yourself in front of the entrance of the museum. Make sure you get the full name of the museum in the background.
2. Things to keep: museum brochure and museum ticket stub. If you are a member, you must keep your member sticker and take a picture with the person behind the counter.
3. Take a picture of the exhibition sign for Becoming Los Angeles. 4. Take a picture of any Native American in the exhibit. When you read about
them, what do they all have in common?
Please note: You must complete a minimum of 45 questions. That does not include the Can You Find sections. A minimum of two questions must be answered from each section. This scavenger hunt is designed for you to learn about the history being presented. Be prepared to spend some time in the museum. Go through the exhibit slowly. All of the answers are there. I know, because I spent a lot of time creating this scavenger hunt by myself. This was not created by the museum.
