  • “From the Desk of the Commodore”

Happy Holidays to all our members. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Tickets for our New Year’s Eve party at Marble Hall are selling fast. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, contact Jerry Ellis (904-699-0352) as soon as possible as we are expecting to sell out. For any new members, this is a great after dinner party to celebrate the New Year. We provide a great DJ, the ice, the set ups, and the snacks. You bring your beverages of choice and anything else to make you happy. The cost is $10.00 and we also provide a large flat screen TV so you won’t miss the ball dropping in Times Square. We regroup at 9:00AM the next morning to clean up the Hall. Jerry Ellis is chairing the event and is looking for some help in decorating, setting up the hall and for the next morning’s clean-up. If you want to reserve at table, show up at Marble Hall at 3:00PM on New Year’s Eve. Just one more reminder that dues must be paid by the January meeting to maintain your membership. Once again we are planning a Ladies Day for all our great lady helpers and members. The destination will be the same as last year, Little Palm Island. Last year’s trip was a huge success and sold out very quickly. The trip is planned for March 23rd and we will be attending the Sunday Brunch. If you have never visited Little Palm Island for brunch, it is an incredible experience and all the members who attended last year, expressed the desire to return again this year. Because of the limited space available on the boat, we will have a signup sheet at the January Meeting and request payment to secure your reservation. The cost is $87.00 per person. For more information, please contact Vice-Commodore Bob Warn at (305) 289-8178. It is not too late to join up for the Tournament Program. See Tournament Director John Fruhmorgen for more information. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our January Meeting on January 3rd. Happy New Year, Commodore Bill
