he Wynfield Neighborhood has some of the best upcoming holidays this year! Ok, they might be the best holidays every year, but who is judging? Halloween is building excitement for many kids in the neighborhood and we all know families looking forward to some great fun, whether they are walking their young’uns or chatting with neighbors and passing out treats. We hope you all have a great time! Thanksgiving is coming up next and oh man! I am craving some turkey, mashed potatoes, and a special veggie dish to die for – not to mention some wonderful family time together. Do you have your Thanksgiving meal planned for this year? We are hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! OH! And last, but surely not least, is the best one of all – Merry Christmas!! Ok, yeah… the stores really shouldn’t kill the celebration with August as the new month to sell Christmas trees and decorations, but let’s be real. We are all looking forward to the Christmas gifts, decorations, awesome holiday music (especially if that music isn’t allowed to ruin Halloween and Thanksgiving again), and our loved family gathering all over again! What is the Litle Yamaroody Library? Litle Yamaroody Library is a way to inspire a love of reading, build community, and spark creavity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges. Your board has approved for a litle library to be built and set up! It will not be registered naonwide but will be just for us here at Wynfield! It will be located at the cul-de-sac on Wyngate Drive! If you have any book donaons, please contact Andrea at [email protected]

SPEED IN WYNFIELD

“I would like to thank so very many of our neighbors who jumped right in to help when our home was struck by lightning. Vicki Bevill heard the lightning strike and immediately called the fire

Our supportive and thoughtful

department, as well as collected and stored many pieces a family memorabilia. Shannon Delaney and her children took care of our little guinea pig (Kitty) for over 2 weeks. Steve Rasmussen mowed for us. Gail Graham and Lana Augustus have allowed me to store some gardening equipment. The list goes on and on. Many neighbors sent pictures of what was occurring while we drove the 3 hours to return home. That really prepared us for what we would find and to not be in so much shock when we arrived. Unfortunately, we have had to move for 12-18 months while our home is being rebuilt. We miss you guys tremendously. There's nowhere quite as wonderful as Wynfield! We'll see you guys around.”

~ Alice Arledge

School has begun again! Every morning and aernoon at a variety of mes based on children’s ages and classes, kids are walking in our Wynfield streets. Aer school, children are vising friends, playing with pets, and riding scooters and bicycles. It has been disturbing that I have seen mulple drivers going through our stop signs without slowing down or stopping. I have also been walking my child to or from the bus stop when I have witnessed drivers traveling much too fast without slowing down around us. We do not have sidewalks in our neighborhood, so many neighbors are walking with children or walking/jogging for exercise on our streets every day. Protecng the safety of everyone in our neighborhood, it is essenal that we acknowledge and follow these listed requests: • Drive slower and stay under 25mph! • Especially slow down and drive around

neighbors and children walking on streets.

• Be aware - If you hit a pedestrian: At 20 mph – 5% will die At 30 mph – 45% will die At 40 mph – 85% will die

• Follow the law and stay off your cell phone while driving.

Continued speeding in our neighborhood will result in local police to begin supervising and

addressing this issue on our behalf.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN!

We get it! Window & Guter cleaning

can be an exhausng chore. We’ve all been there. No

one wants to spend hours cleaning their windows & guters aer a long day at

work only to run into stubborn stains, streaks, dirty window sills, guter

Stop the frustration!

And let

Restored Street Posts!

Our Wynfield street sign posts have been refreshed! We hired a young man who worked hard to freshen up our street posts for the neighborhood. He began the project in the back part of the neighborhood and worked his way towards the front by cleaning up the decorative posts with street signs. He gently sanded any rusted areas and then repainted each post and decorative section. The street sign posts are finally looking new, and polished! We hope you find the completion of this project as another important step to renewing our Wynfield Neighborhood beauty!

Wynfield Uses Facebook Too! We know that many of us interact

with our family and friends through Facebook and other social media. Did you know that Wynfield Neighborhood uses Facebook to let us communicate with each other?

We have 2 groups on Facebook – one is focused on Neighbors-to-Neighbors and the other is for the HOA to post live announcements to the neighborhood!

This year, the HOA Board has been encouraged by neighbors to consider updating the existing Covenants & Bylaws. So far, the suggestions are intended to correct expired pieces that are no longer allowed by County Law and to review possible changes that could ease some rules to keep things comfortable, yet still have enforceable options. As many of you have participated in the most recent survey… We heard you! After hearing your thoughts, we have even more questions that will be more detailed and specific, thus a longer survey. Please be prepared to spend around 10 – 30 minutes on the survey. We could use as many of your opinions as possible, so please jump in by using the listed link to discuss the existing suggestions for more details as we begin creating a formal solution. Every step of the process needs to be reviewed by YOU before we even set up a vote for any changes.

There is a large amount of information on this proposal that can be researched with more detail on the links listed at the end of this article. Make sure to look at the documents attached to each of the links. There are currently 3 linked proposals associated with this Senior Center that began in 2013. Please keep an eye on Jessica Thorsen who keeps updates visible on Nextdoor. The most recent meeting has provided the following information:

Info Presented: • This Application is two-fold. The revised CUP (CP180018) is for a variance to increase the sf that can be owned by a single

business to 97,000 SF. The Zoning Amendment Application (which I don’t believe will require review through the Planning Commission but comes into play from last night’s meeting) is to remove the zoning condition from ZA3651 (2013) that requires the developer to construct a left turn lane into Dressage & increases the number of units to 120 from 63.

• Reason for increase- increase of building costs from around $110/ SF to +/- $175/SF • All full-time resident +/-60 total employees, 30 at any given time. • Near residential areas to serve families. • Deliveries about 2-3 times/week but limited to times in zoning conditions. • Footprint remains the same as 2013 request. Previously this was a 2 story

section for assisted living and 1 story for memory care. The future plan is for the entire building to 2 stories.

• Build time will be about 14 months, but the start date is not yet determined Pain Points: • Traffic (easily the #1 concern) • Watershed/Sewer to the back corner of the lot toward Wynfield Subdivision • Light Pollution • Removal of mature trees on property There is a new meeting in October and will send out an update once we have that information. You can review more information regarding this proposal on these links: CP180019: https://estatus.forsythco.com/application.aspx?App=CP180019&ID=288113

AZ180013: https://estatus.forsythco.com/application.aspx?App=AZ180013&ID=287557

ZA3651: https://estatus.forsythco.com/application.aspx?App=ZA3651&ID=207746

There are a few important pieces of this proposal that may affect our neighborhood. Some of the concerning items are parking lot lights that may be visible, especially without maintaining trees between the neighborhood and the center, but also the septic/sewage system that is designed to also be laid out against the edge of our neighborhood. Please keep attention on this proposal to help preserve our beautiful and peaceful neighborhood!

The Yamaroody Mama! Yamaroody Mama here again! Its that time of year! The leaves are changing color and will soon fall, covering our yards with beautiful colors of orange and brown. The nice cool, fresh air… the windy afternoons… It’s my favorite season, except for the allergies, of course!

Everyone has their traditions as we begin the season. My family likes pumpkin patches! Yes, you read that correctly – plural! We like to go to MANY pumpkin patches, take a bunch of pictures of the kids, get face paintings, and pony rides!

We also enjoy finding the PERFECT pumpkin! Every year, we look all over for the perfect pumpkin. Each one of the kids must have their very own and every year we end up with pumpkins from Aldi! They always have the best ones!

We then search for the best image to carve on our pumpkins! Of course, this lucky Yamaroody Mama has to clean out the pumpkins. Yep, all 3… and then, I get to carve one since my little guy is still too young. Oh! And let’s not forget the search for the perfect costume! The Fall is the start of the holidays for all of us and no matter what your traditions may be, we are the ones that set the standards for our families. We are the ones that make the Holidays for our kids. When they are all grown and begin their own families and traditions, they will recall everything that we have done and maybe pass it on to their own children. They, of course, will add their own traditions and make their own memories, just like we all have. However, they will have things that will never be forgotten. Let’s enjoy the Holidays as a family. Let’s enjoy the little things in life and don’t forget to have a Yamaroody time!

Please be cautious driving through the neighborhood after-dark on Halloween. With many children who walk and run on the street on Halloween Eve, we request that you do not follow your children in a vehicle as they are Trick-or-Treating due to the risk it may present for other families and kids. Last year, these vehicles caused several close calls and some children were hanging dangerously on moving cars from house to house.

SPEED IN WYNFIELD

“I would like to thank so very many of our neighbors who jumped right in to help when our home was struck by lightning. Vicki Bevill heard the lightning strike and immediately called the fire

department, as well as collected and stored many pieces a family memorabilia.

No

one wants to spend hours cleaning their windows & guters aer a long day at

work only to run into stubborn stains, streaks, dirty window sills, guter

build-up, and mildew.

Stop the frustration!

And let

Humble Man Services take care of it for you!

Here are group links for you to join us!

he Wynfield Neighborhood has some of the best upcoming holidays this year! Ok, they might be the best holidays every year, but who is judging? Halloween is building excitement for

many kids in the neighborhood and we all know families looking forward to some great fun, whether they are walking their young’uns or chatting with neighbors and passing out treats. Merry Christmas to you all! The Wynfield Window wishes you all a beautiful rest of 2018!
