EXAMPLESRocket propulsion

In the case of rocket propulsion, the burned air goes downwards and rocket goes upwards.Action and reaction is in opposite direction.

Here action is the movement of air in downward direction. Hence the ballon goes upward. It is the reaction.

Recoil of gun

During the time of firing, the trigger of gun moves in backward (action), and the bullet goes forward.

While jumping from a boat to the ground, the man moves forward(reaction) and the boat moves backward(action).

During skating, skater apply a force on the ground and moves forward.
