This month’s value is Humility is related to the word HUMBLE and both mean to put others first buy giving up what you think you deserve. Imagine being told that the humblest man in the world is coming over to visit your class. When we think of people who are humble or use great humility, sometimes we tend to expect them to knock very quietly on the door, enter with their head hung low, and timidly hobble to a chair in the corner of the room, out of the way. Humble people who show humility don’t have to think they are nothing, undeserving of any attention. A humble person knows they are something, but choose to share their uniqueness by putting someone else first instead of always asking others to look at them. They actually get much more attention by putting others first instead of ‘hogging’ the focus. Take pleasure in sharing your talents, likes, and personality with others by putting them first instead of taking pride in you alone. Think of humility as a talent show for others and you are the spotlight. Only the biggest among us can acknowledge the bigness in others!
