Dear Parents
Firstly, can I say huge congratulations to the
Year 4 and the Year 6 girls’ football teams who
represented Parkfield so well last week in their
after-school tournaments. Not only was their
behaviour and sportsmanship exemplary, but
we also had one team from each group who
won each tournament. Well done! Also, a big
thankyou to Mr Latham and Miss Smith for
taking them.
As part of their dinosaur’s topic, this week Year
2 has been to The West Midlands Safari Park.
They really enjoyed their visit and learnt lots
about different dinosaurs and all the other
animals that are there. To help support your
children with their topic work this term, please
remember to encourage them to complete the
homework suggestions on the topic tutoring
sheets that were given out at the start of the
year to Years 2-6.
Everybody is still looking very smart in their new
uniforms this year. Please can I however remind
Parents that pupils in Years 5 and 6 should be
wearing a shirt or blouse with their ties. White
polo shirts are no longer permitted in these year
groups. Please see the uniform policy on the
school website for additional guidance.

Here's a photo of our girls’ football teams that competed in last week’s competition organised by Central Sports Partnership at Oasis Academy. Both our Year 3/4 team and our Year 5/6 team won gold, winning every game. 12 schools competed in each event.

School Nurse Service – Weight Checks
The school nurse service across Birmingham is no longer able to
offer regular weight check-ups in school. A recent report shows
that a large proportion of children in Birmingham are overweight.
Please use the following website to guide you in keeping your child
to a healthy weight:
https://www.nhs.uk/change4life/your-childs-weight/home
The website also provides lots of recipes for healthy meals and
snacks and ideas for activities to keep your child active.
Nursery Places – Spread
the word!
We still have spaces
available for our free
nursery places. If your
child was born between
1st
September 2014 & 31st
August 2015, please visit
the school office for an
application form.
Last Week’s attendance and Lates
Congratulations to 1L for having the best attendance in the school, and
classes 3H & 5K for having no lates this week. Congratulations also to
Daisy, 2J, 5K & 6B for having the fewest lates this year.
