A BIT OFHISTORYBack in Time .

April Fools Day History

Charles the 9th of Francedeclared during his reign, thatNew Year's Day would be Jan. 1stinstead of March 25th.

He was only 13 years old so theTraditionalists were up in armsabout the change of date.

As time moved on, the Progressionalists started to ridicule theTraditionalists about celebratingNew Years' Day on March 25ththrough April 1st.

Therefore a new tradition wasstarted: If you were stillcelebrating New Years on April 1st,you were an April Fool.

NOTE;Traditionalists celebrated NewYears March 25 - April 1st.

Progressionalists celebratedNew Years January 1st.
