    Chaplain Jamieson ordained in Richmond

On Saturday, March 4th 2017, Chaplain Jamieson Prevoznak (right) was ordained into the San Francisco Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church (USA) ministry in a worship service at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Richmond, CA.  Rev. Doug Siden and SMGG Board Chair, Rev. Nancy B. Smith, officially welcomed Jamieson into the ministry, which he has clearly been called to do. Congratulations Reverend Prevoznak!

Meet our new Intern, LYNN CHITTICK

I am the new SMGG intern that will serve for Summer 2017. I am a second year MDIV student from San Franciscan Theological Seminary in San Anselmo CA on track for ordination with the Presbytery PCUSA, in 2020. Most of the years of my life I ministered to the sick and needy. I am a mother of five children and five grandchildren, and my children were raised with people from all over the world. The ministry here seems appropriate at this time in my work as I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and MA in Multicultural Pastoral Theology.  I have also been an RN and worked in Geriatrics for the past 8 years. I look forward to learning and growing as a minister and thank NAMMA (North American Maritime Ministry Association) for this opportunity.

Welcome our Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Student NANCY SLAVIN (above). She graduated in May from the School for Deacons in Berkeley, with a degree in Diaconal Studies. and am in the discernment process with the goal of ordination to the diaconate in the Episcopal Church. I am currently enrolled in a CPE program with the Spiritual Living Center for Education and Training, and meeting the requirement for clinical hours by serving  here at the International Maritime Center. I have a graduate degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling and will serve in the IMC this summer.
