ood Drive – November 7 - 12 Help support the St. Martin’s Food Pantry with a food donation on behalf of the MoN Cub Scout Pack 76's Annual Scouting for Food Drive. Bags for donations will go home with students on Friday or next Monday, and the donation period runs from November 7 thru 12.

As you consider your decorating and gift giving needs for the season, please support the Class of 2018 and BUY our beautiful red or marble Poinsettia plants to decorate your home for the holidays or as gifts for your business associates. Order by November 15th for Delivery during the week of December 5th, in good time for Xmas! Only $15 each for a beautiful decorative plant and you're supporting our 2018 8th grade NY trip. MON Annual Gala The Annual Gala is Mary of Nazareth’s biggest event of the year and we are looking for even planning leaders to help our co-chairs and make this year’s event a great success! Tell us how you would like to be part of this year’s event! Experience in any of these areas is welcome, but not required. Time commitment is all that is needed. Virtus training is not required. Are you organized, creative and love Excel? Or perhaps you have a great personality and just want to spend time with the Development Office staff? We want to hear from you - we need 1-2 weekly office volunteers (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays) to assist with administrative tasks including spreadsheets, mailings, research and writing, event planning and other fun office related projects. oat Drive 2016 ~ Thank You!
The Social Concerns Committee would like to express their appreciation to everyone who donated coats to the 2016 Coat Drive for St. Martin’s. We have collected about 180 coats. Your generosity and support will truly make a difference to a lot of families in need this winter. We would also like to give a special thank you to Alison Melley, Sarah Scherer and Mary Stefanelli for helping with collecting coats.

Grandparents Day is Monday, November 21, 2016. We need many volunteers to make the event a success!! There are a number of dates and tasks to choose from including:
• Multipurpose Room/Art Room set up (Friday 11/18 at 1pm)
• baked/donated breakfast food (Sunday 11/20 4-6pm KFC)
• Mass set-up (Sunday 11/20 at 4pm) • greeting Grandparents, distributing name tags, serving food/beverages, coat check and

Decorations Needed! Are you thinking about upgrading your Holiday items? Don’t know what to do with all that excess decoration clutter? MON’s elves are seeking donations for unwanted various decorations like old Christmas trees, displays, blow-ups, etc. Those items can be used to decorate the school for our annual Breakfast with Santa! As they say: "It takes a village!" Our Scholastic Book Fair this year is the week of November 4th- 11th. So I am asking for parental support to help work the fair. It is such a "huge" success each year and the students just love shopping for new reading material. Won't you please help me in making the Fair another success? ree Girls Lacrosse Clinic
We are offering a free Girls Lacrosse Clinic at MoN for any girl (K-8) interested in learning more about the fastest growing team sport in the United States. Absolutely no experience required to attend! The clinic will be led by US Lacrosse certified coaches that have experience with many age groups. Local high school and college players will be assisting.

Please save the date for our end of the season MoN Soccer Banquet! The banquets will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) at MON as follows (NOTE NEW TIMES!):
• 07 Nov: Cadets from 6-7 pm Rookies from 7:15-8:30 pm
• 09 Nov: JV from 6-7:15 pm Varsity from 7:30-8:45 pm We will be providing cupcakes (peanut/tree nut-free) for the kids in addition to handing out participation pins. nd Grade Basketball – Register Today! The 2nd grade participates in the City of Gaithersburg Recreation Dept. basketball league called "Hoop Dreams.” The games are instructional, 4V4. Typically MoN is able to field at least one girls’ team and one boys’ team (separate divisions for boys and girls). Click HERE for the informational brochure that includes the registration form. Please do not register online or independently of the school to ensure you are assigned to play on our 2nd grade teams. Please complete the registration and send it with your payment via backpack mail to Jennifer Stonesifer, c/o Aidan Stonesifer, 2-1. Registration deadline is November 7th. The cost is $55 for City of Gaithersburg residents and $70 for non-residents. Make check payable to City of Gaithersburg. On the registration form, the activity # for boys is 45751 and the activity # for girls is 45748. Practices: December 3 & 10; Pre-season Practices: January 3; Weeknight Regular practices held once a week at an elementary school in Gaithersburg. Practice date, time and location to be determined by coach at the coaches meeting November 28th. Games January 7 - February 25. Saturday games held at elementary schools in Gaithersburg. Bonfire At Butler's Orchard Rescheduled Previously MoN's Cub Scout Pack 076 announced its Annual Pack Bonfire at Butler's Orchard for last Friday, October 21st. However, the Bonfire has been rescheduled to Friday, November 11th, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. This event is open to all current Cub Scouts (free of charge) of course, and those Grade 1 through 5 boys with a genuine interest (guests) in joining the Cub Scouts ($10.00). It is requested that parents of guests contact Cubmaster John Fischer at 240.401.6234 and/or Assistant Cubmaster Haytham Najjar at 240.888.5857 in advance to confirm availability.

You are invited to attend an open house at Saint John’s Catholic Prep at their new campus located in historic Buckeystown, MD on Sunday, November 6th from1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
The open house is a wonderful way for prospective students and their families to experience the school’s community, meet students, faculty, and staff and learn more about a faith-based, college prep education. There will be tours of the new campus and an area in the gym where you can meet with faculty and co-curricular representatives. Admissions and financial assistance information will be available.

MON Office Reminders
• Parents or guardians are required to call the office to report a child’s absence from or late arrival to school before 8:45 a.m. Please call the attendance line at the main office number (ext. 1). You may send an email to Mrs. Wray before 8:45 a.m. ([email protected]) if you prefer. If your child will arrive late, please let us know if your child would like to order hot lunch on that day.
