2017 Community Guide is Here! The area’s most popular annual resource for local information is here! Available in both print and online at carygrovechamber.com, the publication is a comprehensive resource on local government leaders, village resources, community groups and organizations. In addition to the important local information the guide provides, it also captures life in the Cary Grove community through numerous photos that were submitted by area residents and photographers. Keep this publication all year long and make it your go-to guide when you are in need of information. The Guide also includes a business directory of the chamber members and is provided free to local residents. The Cary-Grove Area Community Guide was sent directly to our current Chamber members and will also be available in local offices around the villages such as Village Halls, libraries, local real estate office and various businesses. You are invited to stop by our office located at 445 Park Ave., Cary to pick up a copy of the directory.

Summer is here and it is time to get out of the house and spend time in your community! There is no better way to get involved than to connect with your friends and neighbors throughout the summer at our Chambers two big community events, Cary Cruise Night and the Cary Main Street Fest! Cruise Nights kick-off the first week of June and Cary Main Street Fest in September. Who knows, you might make some new friends or business contacts. These two events are attended by thousands each week, bringing together local residents, businesses, and attendees from surrounding areas.

We are proud of what our Chamber does for our community, and it is evident when you walk through the streets of Downtown Cary on Wednesday nights to see the crowds of people mingling, admiring cars, and enjoying the outdoors at Cary Cruise Night. We are proud of what the Cary -Grove Chamber has accomplished thus far this year and we am sure you will find great value in our remaining events for 2017! Cary Cruise Night kicks off on Wednesday, June 7, and continues throughout the summer until August 30 in Downtown Cary on West Main Street. Chamber staff and the Cruise Night Committee will be on the street each week making sure that all residents have a safe and enjoyable time. As with most events, we would not be able to succeed without volunteers who get involved in our community! This season, we will have again partnered with 103.9 The FOX radio station. They are designating our Cruise Night as the place to be on Wednesday nights in McHenry County. So, please listen for their announcements throughout their radio broadcasts all summer long and welcome them to our

community as they will be on the street at Cruise Night. To give back to our community, on the street at Cruise Night we also encourage local community groups to set up a table for free to be able to connect, educate and promote their causes. In addition, on the street at Cruise Night we will continue to have our Mini Business Expos on select Wednesdays to bring together our members with the community. And, let’s not forget about The Tracks burger eating contest – whether you are participating or just watching it is always fun! The fourth annual Cary Main Street Fest will take place on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17. The Festival provides the last blast of the festival season with a full lineup of rockin’ music, a tasty menu from local restaurants, craft beer on tap, a dynamic market plaza of experiential vendor booths and merchants, and a large family area with games, activities and live entertainment. In 2016, crowds flocked to Cary’s downtown area for two days of community celebration. Located in the village’s central district with immediate access to public transportation via Metra commuter rail, Cary Main Street Fest is set on a path for tremendous growth as one of the largest annual events in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. Reserve your space now and be part of this incredible promotional opportunity At both of these events, the Chamber sets up a booth so please stop by and ask how you can get more involved in your community! We will be looking for you!

Local Cary-Grove Students WinChamber Scholarships The Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce recently awarded

two $1,000 business scholarships to local students at Honors Night on Wednesday, May 17. The awards are intended to encourage area students to pursue college interests that might impact local business. Over the years the Chamber has given away more than $33,000 in scholarship awards to local high school students who are pursing business related studies. The chamber is proud to make this investment in our local youth who may someday become future business professionals and owners right in our community. We specifically look for students that may want to bring their skills back to the Cary Grove area. This year’s recipients of the $1,000 scholarships each are Jack Bressett and Sofia Kroll. Jack will be attending Cornell University in the fall and studying business and mathematics with hopes of owning his own non-profit company dedicated to hospice care. Sofia will be attending DePaul University and majoring in business administration and community service. Both students were extremely involved during their four years at Cary-Grove High both at the school and within their communities. Thank you to the Cary-Grove Chamber Scholarship Committee; Phil Horn of Phil Horn the State Farm Agency, Jason Myers of Athletico, Sue Jensen of Periwinkle Florist and Sumish Parikh of Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins. The Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is the premier business alliance in the Cary Grove Area. With our 400 members, the Chamber is dedicated to the growth and development of the business community and to improving the quality of life for those who live and work in the Cary Grove Area.

The fourth annual Cary Main Street Fest provides the last blast of the festival season

with a full lineup of rockin’ music, a tasty menu from local restaurants, craft beer on tap,

a dynamic market plaza of experiential vendor booths and merchants, and a large family

area with games, activities and live entertainment.

In 2016, crowds flocked to Cary’s downtown area for two days of community celebration.

Located in the village’s central district with immediate access to public transportation via

Metra commuter rail, Cary Main Street Fest is set on a path for tremendous growth as one

of the largest annual events in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. Reserve your space now and

be part of this incredible promotional opportunity!

MARKETING & MEDIA COVERAGE: Cary Main Street Fest was featured in the Northwest

Herald newspaper, website and weekly insert Plan-It Northwest; cited as “Weekend

Pick” by Daily Herald newspaper; Metra Commuter Rail monthly ticket mailers; local

people want to be. The event highlights local businesses and restaurants, community

groups and a growing downtown district. Proceeds are reinvested into the community

by the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce through outreach programs, chamber

initiatives and the Volunteer Grant Program, which issues grant funding to local schools

and nonprofits.
