Rotary Club of Kyrenia Liman
We were proud to present
the Patient Transport Vehi-
cle to Dr Salih of the Kyrenia
Dr Akcicek Hospital on Fri-
day 20th February. The
Mayor of Kyrenia, Mr Nidai
Gungordu, and the Minister
for Health, Dr Ahmet Gulle,
also attended the presenta-
tion. It has been a long road to complete this project with funding disap-
pointments along the way, so special congratulations must go particularly
to those Rotarians who worked hard for many months to complete this
project. Rotarians Yazgan, Gultach, and Malcolm never lost sight of the fin-
ish line, and in the words of Dr Salih: “This is a dream come true”. Projects
for 2015-16 are now being considered, and on Wednesday 4th March our
Club meeting will be taking
part in a “Webinar” on Global
Grant funding. Please remem-
ber the early start time of

20 Şubat Cuma günü Akçiçek
Hastanesi’nde Dr Salih Bey’e
Hasta Taşıma Aracı’nı sunmaktan gurur duyduk. Girne Belediye Başkanı Sn
Nidai Güngördü ve Sağlık Bakanı Ahmet Gülle de bu olaya aramıza
katılarak tanıklık etti. Bu projeyi bitirmek çok uzun bir zaman aldı ve bu
yol boyunca kaynak bulmak konusunda hayal kırıklıklarımız da oldu. Bu
yüzden aylar boyunca çok çalışıp bu projeyi bitirmek için uğraşan Rota-
ryenlere özellikle teşekkür ediyoruz. Rotaryen Yazgan, Gültaç ve Malcolm
bir an olsun hedeflerinden şaşmadılar ve Dr Salih’in de dile getirdiği üzere:
‘’ Bir hayal gerçek oldu.’’2015-2016 sene-
si projeleri artık gündemde, ve Çarşamba
günü Kulüp toplantımızda Global Bağış ile
ilgili bir ‘Webinar’’ yani internet üzerin-
den seminere katılacağız. Lütfen bu top-
lantının 17.45’te başlayacağını unut-
mayın.
Rotarians Ken Thwaites from the Rotary Club of Kendall, and Naci Sen from the Rotary Club of Sam-
sun visited us on February 11th, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting our Club.

Around the world Rotarians support numerous pro-grams that help children and adults to gain the abil-ity to read. Worldwide illiteracy rates approach 20%. In many countries the rates is in the 80% range. Approxi-mately one billion people are not able to read. Reading, writing and character literacy are essential to independence and economic freedom. “No country can succeed if its future leaders are not educated.” - Nelson Mandela “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.” – Kofi Annan

Kulübü’nü ziyaretine ilişkin fotoğraflar
gönderdi. Seyahat etmek her zaman
için yeni Rotaryenlerle tanışmak ve
bağlantılar kurmak adına güzel bir fır-
sattır.
Kendall Rotary Kulübü’nden Rotaryen Ken Thwaites ve Samsun Rotary Kulübü’nden Naci Şen 11 Şubat’ta
Kulübümüzü ziyaret ettiler ve toplantımıza keyifle katıldılar.

February 11th meeting welcomed Dr Sibel Siber, Speaker of the Assembly, as our Guest Speaker.
Dr Siber spoke about her childhood, her education, and her career, as well as her inspiration for
entering politics. We were happy to be joined by St Hilarion Rotarians for this dinner meeting
including PP Naran and Club Secretary Vural.
11 Şubat toplantısında misafir konuşmacı olarak
Meclis Başkanı Dr Sibel Siber’i ağırladık. Dr Sibel
çocukluğu, eğitim hayatı, kariyeri ve politikaya grime
sebepleri ve ona bu yolda ilham veren şeylerden bah-
setti. St Hilarion Rotaryenlerinden Eski Başkan Naran
ve Kulüp Sekreteri Vural da bu gecede aramıza katıldı.
